I genuinely believe that the only reason EP is getting such support is as a social statement, a rebuke of the election results. I have yet to hear anyone say that movie is genuinely incredible. Voting for EP is a form of performative activism.
All this aside, BAFTA doesn't seem to understand that Curtis's last name starts with a C and not an L, making the alphabetical order announcement very misleading They did the exact same thing for EEAAO two years ago
Stan couldn't have split his votes here. Or at Globes. At SAG he probably did and he missed. Jeremy Strong is nominated by the Globes, SAG and BAFTA. He was one of the only two people who beat the alphabet bias at SAG (the other one being Saldana). I don't think the "no one will touch The Apprentice" has been proven right with any group other than the US based critics.
Matthew; A Complete Unknown is a Hollywood Darling; A quasi documentary-Movie about a real, special American. Those under 50 have no idea what an impact Bob Dylan had on America. We were going from 1950's A Bomb military America made for White Men doing everything; courts, police, doctors, running companies . . . . women were secretaries and nurses. Dylan helped change America. I would bet 1000% A Complete Unknown is in the top 5 Best Movies for Oscar. However. GREAT VID !!!
Qualley is done unfortunately. Grande and Saldana are the only locks. Rossellini seems pretty safe. The last two slots will be some combination of Curtis, Jones, Barbaro, and Gomez. Definitely a nail-biter.
Based on how well it’s doing with Globes, SAG & now BAFTA, I think The Apprentice is gonna get Oscar nominated somewhere, either just Jeremy Strong or potentially both, also loving how chaotic that final Best Actress slot has become lmao
Dune is the only film anyone has seen. It won't win anything but technicals. Who cares. Emilia will be the first cheaply and poorly made horror film to sweep the Oscars.
That’s not true. Emilia Perez is not horror. The only horror gettkng nominated is The Substance. Also Dune is not thr only film people have seen. Wicked is on track to surpass Dune 2 in box office and actually made more domestically than Dune. So if anything the American oscar voters have seen it more.
I still think The Apprentice is gonna blank on Oscar nomination morning. It may have international support, but I don't think Americans will wanna go anywhere near it.
Low key annoying (here and in the podcast) when people are discussing something else and Matt completely changes the topic and asserts his opinions over everyone.
Love these reaction videos!
So glad you enjoy them! I'm thinking I should upload older ones I still have...
OMG!! Please do. Id love looking back at previous years and nominations @NextBestPicture

Queen jamie lee Curtis is definitely getting Oscar nomination for The Last Showgirl along with Pamela Anderson
The Emilia Perez support is BAFFLING
When Dan Baer said “once you consider five nominations…”, was he hinting at a potential Best Picture nomination for Nosferatu?
yes

US vs International voters
Wicked, Craig vs Perez, Stan

Dune 2 got director😄... Love this reaction videos ❤
Calling Qualley an online thing?? shame. She's currently leading regional critics groups and got CC and GG. Don't do her like that.
Right like wtf?
She's not leading. Saldaña is leading.
@ Maragaret Qualley is leading with critic group wins at the moment. Check out Next Best Picture for what she's won. Smh.

I honestly prefer Stan's performance in A Different Man to his performance in The Apprentice.
Honestly same, but I'll like him nominated either way.
I worry that people don’t know which one to vote for and he is splitting his shot at a nomination.
Why is Matt so obsessed with predicting Anora misses? It's not going to happen.
Good idea to be quiet while they’re announcing nominees , then comment.
Yeah, gave this feedback to myself and the others for next time
@ thanks. Sorry just suggestion. Hope it didn’t sound mean. You guys are great
Does anyone else think the guy on the bottom left sounds a bit like Dunkey?
Oh the howl I just let out upon reading this
@NextBestPicture and I mean this as a compliment!!
Emilia Perez ❤
GROSS!!!

Why are you talking all through
It’s live and exciting lol
