Hello Willem, I especially enjoyed watching this video, with being completely bed-bound for the past three years due to various chronic conditions, I have a great deal of restrictions placed upon my photography. It's tough, but I hold onto my creativity with all of my heart. I'm currently capturing a new botanical series for an upcoming exhibition, with a bedside setup, it's a true joy to have photography as my solace. Thank you for a great video, Willem.
the shots at 8:23 I feel are truely the magnum opus of this video. Masterful play of light, just gorgeous to look at, everything just where it should be in the most beautiful way
Amazing! The whole video is an absolute masterpiece, the lighting, music, you cinematography and of course the photos are incredable. Also how you talk about the photos with such a passion, It's so wonderful when people truly love what they do.
Dude, the cinematography is insane. Can you please talk more about how you achieve this aesthetic? Just some insights would be amazing. Love from Germany
This video single-handedly brought back my love for film photography. I forgot what it felt like to “work with what you got” and fell off for almost a year. It’s time to pick up my camera again, loved the video !!
These photos are awe inspiring. I'm also impressed by how few piles of paper you have in your house, every artist ive known including myself, always has a mental amount of paper lying around, well done for keeping your house so tidy
this is definitely my new favorite video on your channel. the cinematography and editing is so clean and the pictures came out amazing. such a therapeutic watch
Being home alone, taking pictures you have no great expectations of and then they come out so amazing.. it feels so refreshing that I could do it for the rest of my life
I saved one of your videos on my "To Watch" list, years ago, and now I'm going through them, and your videos are so good and your pictures are absolutely beautiful. I think what I love the most about film photography is the nostalgia that I associate with it. The photo of your cats is my favorite. Nice job!
That excitement is so important, and is a part of what makes photography so much fun. Great video Willem, this one had a very cozy, relaxed feeling. I really love the apple photo at 4:13 and the beautiful shadows in the photo at 9:46 .
This made my heart happy. It definitely does remind me directly to when I started photographing with my first camera, over 15 years ago, taking self portraits and still life from stuff around my room.
I think it's really cool that you've started getting out of the "lo-fi hiphop beats to study to" kind of background music that ended up becoming the only soundtrack to film/street photography channels. I like that music, I just think it's also cool to try and do things differently, and I think it gives an extra happy vibe to the videos too :)
Great images, the image of the shadow of the flower in the vase is really something! I've had a go at photographing stuff around my house before but it's really hard, I think familiarity makes it easy to miss things.
I think this might be one of my favorite videos of yours. It is so inspiring to see what you can do just from your own home. The photos turned out beautiful! You have a lovely home btw
That intro though! Love the images and a great idea to look at your close surroundings, I think most photographers have this issue of familiarity=boring.
Willem, may I disagree? The prints are not a little addition, they are a huge addition. The photos are gorgeous, and I think it really only becomes a complete picture if you print it. And you darkroom print them! Which even adds more value to them. Me too, I think this is one of my favourite videos. I shot a lot during COVID at home, so I relate very much to this one. Congratulations!
This is what you're shooting for. I suppose someone, somewhere on their death bed said "I wish I sold more bags", but.. maybe not. Killer video, killer photos and the music.. absolutely on point.
Amazing. Such ordinary, commonplace, everyday things. Mundane, even. Carefully arranged and composed while bathed in luxurious window light. Things that would never inspire a second thought, but when approached with a first thought yield such artistic images. Mostly simple, but sometimes complex, some with many colors and others with few. Always interplay of light and shadow. Time frozen and time passing. That was a wonderful video - it took me to a world of visions completely outside my realm (particularly celery juice!) and yet in many ways familiar (all that gorgeous steam). That was nonstop creativity. GREAT WORK!
Dude. I challenged myself to do this recently and I’m so glad you made this. Honestly I think this video is my favorite you’ve made so far. It was simple, creative and brought tons of good vibes. Thanks Willem!
Incredibly glad I stumbled onto your channel. I'm a digital photographer seriously looking into film photography and you popped up. I have been binging your videos ever since. Your style, the way you visually story tell is abolutely a vibe. Thanks for sharing your gifts.
Your apartment looks sooo comfy in that light with all those plants🥺 loved the photos! I actually really want to shoot this style of photography at home, but the orientation of my apartment gives me barely any sunlight sadly... but I'm moving this year, so hopefully I'll be able to find something sunnier :D
The opening scene was poetic cinema. Watching this from Norway made me realise how deprived I am of sunlight in my apartment (and in general). Impeccable light and colours in your shots!
such a lovely little simple video. the way this was edited and the music that you chose playing in the background everything was so elegantly done. I absolutely adore this, what a joy to watch 💗
I really love how the way you saw everything around you as an beautiful objects, it really amaze all the time when I saw the final results. I always looking forward on your pictures and projects!
Wow, that was beautiful! The photos were amazing but the video blew me away, the color grading was so on point, everything looked really filmic and you nailed the film vibe, the highlights were just perfect. Also props to you for finding an apartment that looks like a set, the light you have there is incredible
Wow, so cool! I really like all of those shots. I also really like all the plants you have! I think I saw an orchid in the beginning. If you ever do something like this again, you should get a shot of the flowers on that. They are so pretty and big, too!
i watch your videos after i get off work. they relax me, disconnect me, and this one in particular hit home (pun intended). you're amazing, please never stop doing what you love
Absolutely bomb video! That was excellent! I do this from time to time, I photograph the same things but always find that different days throw off different light. I love it!
Absolutely astonishing. You just shot a roll on a jar of juice… and it came out art. Well done mate. By far your most inspiring vid from the past few months! (Not a criticism!)
This is nice… I’ve been finding myself not having the time and energy to get out and go to cool places for photos recently and just taking random pictures around the house and deleting them - so this video makes me think about trying to be more intentional with that and take some I don’t *want* to delete.
This video reminds me to slow down and focus on what's present and around instead of whatever superfluous thoughts or long term work projects I have. Excellent content, inspiring
Just now seeing this and I’m inspired to do the same. Had this idea back when Covid first started, but didn’t follow through. Now, I’m definitely going to do it! Thanks for this 🙏
every shot you took is a masterpiece! I am about to use my film camera again after not using it since the film price is more expensive these days. Thank you!
one of my fav videos so far ! the cinematography, the shots, THE COLORS ! truly a masterpiece ! let me go buy some flowers and a vase now
Much appreciated ❤️❤️
Tahahahah same.

It’s amazing how beautiful the stuff we see in a daily basis can be. Really cool way to change how you approach photography. Keep it up man
Such a good one. Not only the pictures but the edit, the music. So refreshing.

Oh boy this video was wholesome, and your celery juice really does look delicious. More of these challenges Willem!
I think it's really cool that you've started getting out of the "lo-fi hiphop beats to study to" kind of background music that ended up becoming the only soundtrack to film/street photography channels.
I like that music, I just think it's also cool to try and do things differently, and I think it gives an extra happy vibe to the videos too :)
my goodness, the coloring, quality, and positioning of your video is so aesthetically pleasing. that’s a video camera i’d invest good money in
Brilliant! I am retiring this year and I know what my "First Monday" project is going to be.

the way you set up your shots is an art in itself
The cinematography in the intro is incredible
Great images, the image of the shadow of the flower in the vase is really something! I've had a go at photographing stuff around my house before but it's really hard, I think familiarity makes it easy to miss things.
There's rich, and then there's shooting 6 rolls around my house rich.
honestly I'd love to see your lighting setup for the filming of this video. I love the cinematography
You get such awesome light in your apartment! I love your windows and your plants, and they came out so well in golden hour.

Amazing Video, & what I learned from this video is that "Sometimes personal satisfaction is more important than professional obligations".
Absolutely astonishing.
