    Miss these... I genuinely enjoyed binging them over the summer.
    I hope you save up and get to visit the country again - this time more higher-end tobacco stores; smoking cafes and exclusive rolling tobacco; the accent on a more upper class tenet of the smoking culture in Japan.
    Maybe even more tobacco vending machines and convenience stores.

    I guess you already found out by now why the package was so slim. There are only 14 pieces in it.
    Did you know that American Spirit sold in Japan are actually now owned and produced by Japanese Tabacco Inc since 2017 ? I read many reviews that the flavor changed quite a bit from the original ones produced in the US.
    I am keen to know the difference of Japanese ones and American ones.

    • @jacobfuckingjones
      @jacobfuckingjones  ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Indeed, wild that they've only got 14 cigarettes inside but are sold for the same amount as a normal pack. And I did indeed know that! It's very interesting. Looking forward to posting a review of the Turquoises and letting y'all know my thoughts on the difference between Japan American Spirits and American American Spirits!

      That's terrible! My son is in Japan for the next 9 days and I was going to get him to get my the AS black. I live in Australia and am only allowed by agreement with my wife to get a pack of cigarettes when someone we know buys them for me overseas. I was really looking forward to trying perique tobacco :( Last time I got a pack of smokes was in 2017 when my son went to Spain and I asked for Lucky Strike non filter and unfortunately he brought me what they sold there which was filtered and made in the EU with little flavour. Cigarettes in Australia are all made with Indonesian tobacco pretty much, none grown here and no American smokes sold. Used to be great like the USA with tobacco, now a tin of pipe tobacco is around $150! Is there any American brand you might recommend to get from Japan?

    The way cigarettes are marked by numbers in Japan makes it so easy to let them know which ones you want. Should be that way in the US too in my opinion! I was shocked when you handed him the money directly, where was the money tray? It be out for a smoke I guess ykwis 😂

    • @jacobfuckingjones

      In Japan, I only got carded once, but that was at a tobacco museum, and I was buying $60 worth of goodies, so I'm not surprised. Simply got out my passport, pointed at my date of birth, and was all good to go.
      When I mentioned that that happened to a friend from Japan, he was surprised, and said that almost nobody ever gets carded, especially foreigners, and that was my experience everywhere else I went. Never got carded at convenience stores or any other tobacconists I went to, although it is possible of course, as it happened to me, albeit, only once.
