Set in the near future, an ex-jewel thief receives a gift from his daughter: a robot butler programmed to look after him. But soon the two companions try their luck as a heist team.

At its heart, this is a story about senility, dementia, loss of memory/identity. Told so beautifully with the comedy and heist element, to show that a human should not be defined by his age or declining abilities. The robot is the Hero's alter ego and the erasing of the robot's memory chip is so beautifully filmed, juxtaposed with the Hero's decline in memory. So powerful, especially to anyone who's experienced a family member going through this.

Nah when he wiped the robots 🤖 memory... I cried sooo hard. It's because tbe robot was so nice to him the whole time, then they build that relationship and trust... even FRANK didn't want to do it...
please do watch this movie.the story is simple but everything is so great, the character development and the relationship between the robot and the old man.these are the kind movies which should be made more often.

SDDrewGS4 lol same here. Basically, aging man gets health care aid robot from son but decides to train the robot to help him steal jewelery. He gets caught and runs away with the robot because, despite a rocky start, they've developed a deep friendship. The end.

I like some how some wannabe mallu film critics are here ranting about Android Kunjappan being a "copy" of this film . It's appalling even after watching this trailer they are dumb enough not to comprehend the fact that the plot is entirely different. They just see an old man and robot and shout "it's a copy". Literacy doesn't go in hand with common sense it seems.

Fairly good movie. If only the robot had nodded to Frank in the final scene. A "remember what we did?" nod. That nod wouldve made the ending a lot better
How would that make the robot better? It would completely undercut the tone of the film. The whole point is that it's just a robot who is not human or emotional.

This is one of those few worthwhile "touch of sci-fi" films worth watching while nonetheless also having one of those blatant start-to-finish trailers. Still, there are plenty of good scenes not in the trailer.

This isn't exactly new. Trailers have done this for decades.
And this, ladies and gentlemen, is what LLMs will ultimately amount to. It cannot and never will be useful in a professional setting. "AI" is unpredictable, error-prone and just not good enough. It never will be. However, it'll be good as a user-interface, an assistant or perhaps even companion for old, disabled or otherwise challenged individuals.
Note that technically, "user-interface, an assistant or perhaps even companion" are the same thing. Just packaged differently.

I love this film but there is a scene where they are using metal detectors to look for diamonds and they can’t detect any diamonds in the robot so yeah maybe include that in your considerations, hugely jarring moment before a great scene where they actually had a bomb in the robot, shame those diamond detectors didn’t detect bombs
