He discovers that she and Craig (John Cusack) are charging people to go into a portal but they allow him to go into it for free. Upon entering the portal, John is in a world where everyone looks like him and only says “Malkovich”, and he realizes the portal is a gateway into his mind.
FILM SYNOPSIS:

One day he accidentally discovers a door… a portal into the mind of John Malkovich (played by John Malkovich)! For 15 minutes, he experiences the ultimate head trip - HE is John Malkovich! Then he's dumped out onto the New Jersey turnpike! With his beautiful office mate Maxine (Catherine Keener) and his pet-obsessed wife (Cameron Diaz), they hatch a plan to let others into John's brain for just $200 a trip.

"Right this way Mr. Malkovich; compliments of the house!" *LMAO!*
Malkovich's talent is being able to say the most ridiculous things emphatically and with complete conviction.
And here I was thinking everyone forgot just how freaking great this movie is
The chase with the panty sniffing was my fave.
This movie was the most brilliant and bonkers independent film I ever saw. Technically brilliant. Getting inside the mind of the most brilliant and intense actors john malkovich was a piece extraordinary cinema. Charlie kaufman ending was very sudden. I wasn't sure what the was about. Aside from getting inside malkovichs head. Very funny film and this scene is just brilliant. You're in my head schwsrts
Why would you think that? It was critically and commercially a success. Do you just want to feel special? Thinking you're one of the only people who remember it? You're not.
@@WorldsWorstBoyexactly lol
"I have been to the dark side. I have seen a world no man should see." Poetic, as is everything John Malkovich says.
Technically Charlie Kaufman's words
Can’t say I blame him. If I were him, I’d also be freaked out by what’s inside my own mind to a point I wouldn’t want others to see or know what it’s like to be me.
" next time we meet one of us will d*e"
Event horizon
this movie hasnt aged a day. just as trippy and surreal as when it came out
"Hey Malkovich, think fast!"
OUCH!
That was 100% unscripted. The cars on the road were all driven by crew members and one of the people in one of the cars just decided to chuck a can at John. He didn't expect to connect. It was such a great take that it was included in the final cut. Apparently, John was pretty ticked about it.
@@TestUser-cf4wj This movie is where this clip is from.
The man had to be added to be credited because he now had a line in the movie. Or so I've heard.
@@TestUser-cf4wj Perfect ending to a bad day, the chefs kiss.
The closer he gets to the exit, the louder his name becomes. I chalk it up to existential angst.
“I will see you in court!”
Good luck explaining that in court
Everytime I watch this picture, I burst to laugh so HARD... 😂😂😂
Charlie Kaufman is such a warped genius! Loved this movie and the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
Didn’t know John Malkovich had some big cans 😂.
Orsen Bean’s speech impediment…Floor 71/2…Lottie vs. Maxine…Lottie AND Maxine…”I’m leaving acting to be a puppeteer.”…Never gets old.
I remember laughing so hard at this scene.
All building up to it I was thinking "What crazy shit will happen when he goes into his own portal?". And it exceeded my expectations!
Imagine Malkovich meeting with a lawyer about all this..
His lawyer would gear him out then send a bill.
lol
Malkovich. Malkovich. Malkovich. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
HEY MALKOVICH, THINK FAST!!!
I think it’s hilarious how John Malkovich goes in incognito, then they find out who he is, and then he finds out the embarrassing secret they’ve been hiding from him.
lol. I believe that’s the point of that scene. That is how the scene plays out. Some scary meta shit.
Yep, that is definitely one of the descriptions of all time... So analytical.
Keep researching man, the world needs more thorough deep dives into art pieces like yours 👏👏👏👏
I guess Larkin went too far trying to understand what was inside Cyrus' mind
"That was no simulation!!!"
We will see
This film was simply brilliant!
Malkovich has some nice Malkovichs
That hey malkovich think fast was improvised by that extra On the spot after a night of getting drunk the reaction is genuine and unexpected but it was so authentic they decided to use it they had to credit the guy and pay him more and even get him sag registered
Really? It is my favorite part of the scene and still makes me laugh.
Source?
False rumor. Malkovich debunked that in a 2013 AMA on Reddit.
Q: Were you actually pissed when that extra threw that can at your head?
A: “on the contrary, spike jonze wanted to cut it because we were late that night and he felt no one would be able to hit me on the head with a half full can of beer from a passing car, and about 70 or 80 sets of hands shot up on the crew saying they would like to try. eventually the task fell to johnny cusack's writing partner and he nailed it on the first try.”
@@Bobaklives It's such a stupid rumor too can you imagine being an extra and having the chutzpah to throw a beer can at a lead actor's head without warning as a joke on camera, you'd get fired and maybe even sued
on set story aside, props to the guy who (in world) recognised Malkovich at night from behind from a moving car and had the presence of mind to bean a can at him while coming up with a hilarious line.
Think fast!!!
One the most hilarious sequences to a movie you will ever see!
“Malkovich! Malkovich!”
Such a bizarre idea for a movie. I can imagine when it was first pitched to the studio (and to John Malkovich). "Wait a second... Say that again."
There's a GQ youtube video on John Malkovich where he talks all about it
@@darrellcovello7917 I'll see if I can find it.
This movie has aged like fine wine.
It’s my head! Lol
I remember when I see this for the first time in the summer of 2000 on TV 😂 That's so fucking strange for me hahaha.
Malkovich. Malkovich? Malkovich! Malkovich...
MALKOVICH!!!
Malkovich, Malkovich. Malkovich!
I remember this scene differently.. when he was exited from his portal and the guy that was in the portal with him comes out second he says that really mind f***** me that time
Mandela effect?
Were you stoned?
The ending always gets me 😂 THINK FAST 😂😂😂
I know this movie word for word. I have since it came out. It’s my favorite of ALL time. I know the alternates and BTSs and I’ve probably seen it more than anyone has. At this point, I am naming myself it’s Biggest Fan.
how about that wild alternate ending? would have loved to have seen that. its crazy they kept parts in the real movie that sets up the alternate ending
can you explain the scene where the older guy talks about being lost in the subconscious. Also I didn’t understand how all the older people go into his mind before midnight?
The writing is genius level stuff
3:51 I think this is one of the funniest movie scenes ever. I hadn’t seen the movie since its original release, and it didn’t disappoint!
4:05 that ordering 😆 🤣 😂
John Malkovich is a great actor
I mean just ask Matt Damon
Matt Damon is also good as well
This is such an incredible film.
This has to be one of the top movie scenes in cinematic history!!
I’ve seen better scenes in porn
i will see you in court.. haha
I'll give it 4 Malkovich's out of 10 Malkovich's. Anyone all Malkovich with that? Malkovich?
Malkovich
You can't malkovich that much malkovich, without malkovich'ing the whole malkovich.. Malkovich!
I laughed SO HARD at this scene...
I'd like to see that court case.
One of my all time favorite movies!
0:57 obviously the genius of this scene is he can literally watch all these terrorists go into his brain totally unnoticed at the same time how ironic typical uncanny experience of imposters
Die Nebelkammer..german Qualität
My question is did the guy already in John Malcovich see the confrontation between John and Craig or was he also in the world where everyone was John Malcovich or both.
My guess is both. At whatever point the guy entered the portal, he saw John's investigation of J.M. Inc. and saw the Malkovich nightmare as Malkovich saw it. He comes out of the portal at the end saying it was amazing this time
yea I think he switched to the amalgamations of john malkovitch at the same time John did.
@@floogandoogan703 maybe even multiple versions.. Which is psychedelic.
Both
More that one person can enter at one time
My favorite john malkovich movie
Naw, it’s the jewel thief movie for me
@@ironmike5812Nice one
Ditto. Also, I liked him and the movie what was that one where he played the villain and Clint Eastwood played the Secret Service agent protecting the president what was that movie called?
The best part is that the guy throwing the can was literally just some guy.
"Think fast" kills me everything I see it.
lol @ that some schlub in a pickup would recognize John Malkovich from behind at the side of the road.
I just watched this movie yet again and I still can never remember anything about it.
It's my HEAAAAAAADDDD!!!!!! LOL
Ever since I saw this scene, I find myself singing "Malkovich, Malkovich. Malkovich, Malkovich," to myself without even thinking about it.
great movie
If Malkovich was a pokemon
This movie is the best!!!
I can't watch this clip beyond half-way in: I have to see the movie again.
There is nothing else like it.
@5:38 - best part.
Nah 5:51 beats it by a mile!!
Malkovich malkovich!! Malkovich malkovich malkovich, malkovich malkovich..
Malkovich!
You come away from a Spike Jonez movie not only buying his story but also doubting your own reality
One of the best movie scenes ever 😂
Never realized how much john and joan look alike
My favorite is lounge singer Malkovich-
strappy heels and all, very malkovich.
Why don't we get original movies like this anymore? No no no, we need another Transformers movie.
One of the best movies of all time
The guy who threw the can was a drunk extra who wasn’t supposed to throw the van or say the line😂
The OG Christoph Waltz
I didn't even look this up, I was just recommended
🤣😂🤣😂very funny scene malkovich
Watch ⌚️ ⏱️ the way John walks 🚶♂️ with low ceiling above ...only pros can do this ...small detail = great performance
Look it up. The guy who drives by and yells " hey malkovich" and throws a can at malkovich's head is actually a random guy and that was not scripted.
God, I loved this film.
Alfalfa for the rabbits.
Fun fact, the beer can throwing and reaction at the end of the clip were unscripted.
Somebody was definitely trippin out when they made this movie 😂
Pour one out for Mr. Hiroshi who waited in line all that time just to end up back in the line.
How did the “think fast” guy recognize the back of Malkovitchs head in a cap?
He was a drunk extra. He wasn’t supposed to talk OR throw the cam. John’s pain is real
He’d have no problem online dating all he’d have to do is think about being lonely and they’d be at his front door.
People think I'm John Malkovich all the time.
Malkovich Malkovich
Malkovich malkovich malkovich, malkovich malkovich malkovich malkovich malkovich.
That’s was some acid
Why does Maxine shout "Dorothy!" when they burst into the room?
Rerelease this film in IMAX ASAP
Dear recepeant,

LMAO
wait what
ive seen trailers of this movie
i did not know this was the premise
I can't believe it, I've watched that movie since December 1998, it's was fun, but not my favorite movie 🍿🎥 anymore.
The movie didn't debut theatrically until October 1999, though.
@@Fan_Made_VideosThey might have paid $200 for a sneak peek.
I hear assloads of complaining about there not being any originality in Hollywood these days.
For reference this movie did very poorly in theaters and not so great on home video.
yet has become become a cult classic and very very well known film
@@deagle2yadome696 The point.
You missed it.
@@Shorty_Lickens please don’t like your own comments it’s very unbecoming

Yo what is this movie 😂😂
1. I don't get it.
2. I don't need to get it.
Con air 2
Not a fan of the film overall but this is brilliant.
lame
Love this movie
It's a shame Hollywood can't make movies like this now: too weird/"quirky", not enough superheroes and stuff blowing up.
The 90s and early 00s were really a golden age of cinema
Animated series like Regular Show and Gravity Falls and a film named Everything Everywhere All At Once might be what you want.
Or you could try TV series - Severance REALLY reminded me of Being John Malkovich ;)
No, it's because Spike Jonze made this movie and these were the types of films he made. Hollywood didn't make this movie, Spike Jonze and his production company did. I think reducing everything to tokens or magic spells phrases meant to invoke politically motivated outrage is utterly despicable and the mark of a very stupid superficially minded person.
way to censor. lame. we really need a youtube for adults.
You said it. Who do they think is watching videos like this…Jesuits, Jehovah’s Witnesses, etc.? 🙄
no censorship compares to the conservative censorship of the media that spanned multiple decades and continues to this day. Those sick conservatives didn't even think having a married couple share the same bed could be shown on TV. Sick, sick culture.
I couldn’t give a legitimate reason of why I hated John Cusack soo much.
I like John Cusack, he is a fun actor and person.
