Good point! Really about comparing weights to bands . I usally use 40-50 pound kettlebells for standard press. I bought a scale and measure the pounds with bands. I get same type of resistance with bands use 20 pounds with bands . The lockout and tension at the top is lots harder. I’m almost 50 and enjoy using bands now . People especially men need to drop the ego . The modern resistance bands aren’t little rubber bands or “ just for women”
Recent subscriber to your fantastic channel. I love your honesty, your calm approach, and perhaps most importantly, your expertise. You clearly know what you're talking about! I'm 73 years old, and recently decided that if I didn't get off my but and start exercising, I would soon be confined to the couch forever. I bought a Total Gym and gave it a whirl. I got hooked. I loved it and began exercising consistently two days followed by a rest day, rinse and repeat. In three months, I had substantial gains in chest size and reductions in waist size, furthering my commitment. I decided to add a weight bar to my TG and try using resistance bands with it to give me more resistance on the TG. That said, watching your channel has inspired me to add stand along resistance band exercises to my regimen for variety's sake. I've ordered the famous orange bands, a platform, j-hook handles, etc. which arrive in a day or two. Looking forward to learning from you how to do my resistance band exercises, and looking forward, in a few months, to being able to document some substantial results. So glad I've found your channel! Forgive me for rambling on and on...
Man, maybe I've been very lucky but to this point, cheap 10 USD bands sets have served me well. Both tube and loop style. I've bought like 9 sets within 2 years and just 2 individual tube bands have snapped and I wasn't hurt, precisely because I was using a lot of bands at the same time and when they snapped, each time the broken one collided with the other bands, thus preventing the broken one from becoming a projectile. But that's just my experience, I don't know. Maybe I'll order an expensive set just to see if I truly get a much better experience and quality. I'm very pragmatic and practical though, I'm using a plastic pallet for a platform 😂😂. It cost me the same as a home gym platform, it weighs 15 kilograms and is 1 metre by 1.2 metres, that thing is going no where and can withstand 600 kgs.
When your doing a chest press your gonna feel it in your shoulders just got to do it where your not feeling it that much in your shoulders and working your chest
Now I try to stack bands to increase resistance provided I can do slow and controlled movements. If I start to force the movement then I know to drop the weight or do drop sets.
Bands are something i believe you cannot use to maximize muscle gaining genetic potential. However, my goal was just to stay in fit. So i would prefer bands any day. I look great in my physique i have now. Lean muscles with a flat belly was my goal after all. Recently i have started using the 21s technique with bands 7 up 7 down 7 full. The burn is crazy though.
There very much is a team loop vs team tube bands 😅. In terms of tube bands it’s Bodylastics then everyone else. It’s not even close. Is that a Vector Athletics loop band you are holding in your thumbnail?
Just bought a resistance band set and I’m glad I found this channel because I want to build muscle with bands

hello Coach
What are some effective home workout alternatives to target the lower back muscles that can be done without a Roman chair?
My condo doesnt have any space to workout on closing side of door only on opening side.

What kind of weight should I use for loosing my stomach
Kind of weight? Explain
@@DisciplineDave iam trying too loose my stomach
calorie deficit plus body weight exercises like sit ups and crunches
You cannot spot reduce fat. And there is no specific weight for your stomach. Progressively overload as you get stronger and eat in a calorie deficit.
losing* loose and lose are two different words
How wrong is it if I work out without shoes, on a foam mattress?
I mean, I wouldn’t use a foam mattress thicker than a yoga mat
@@DisciplineDave yeah, actually it's a yoga mattress!
Ok that’s fine

Yes it is
