- In this video we review the MOTUL 7100 synthetic engine oil. The Motul 7100 is considered to be one of the best synthetic engine oils available in the market. In this video we will discuss the lab test results done on the Motul 7100 10W-40. The Motul 7100 was used in an air cooled engine which was used for daily commute. The test sample for Motul 7100 was taken after 5000km of running where the Kinematic viscosity was measured at 40°C and 100°C. In other critical parameters the flash point and TBN for Motul 7100 were measured and compared with fresh engine oil. Elemental analysis done on Motul 7100 revealed the wear and tear, contaminants and additives. The detergents, dispersants, anti wear, anti corrosion elemental additive values gives us an idea about the additive formulation of Motul 7100. This should help us in understanding the protection offered by Motul 7100.

I keep coming back to the Castrol Power1 after trying nearly everything available in a synthetic 10w40. It consistantly makes smoother shifting feel in three different manufacturers bikes. 2012 Hayabusa, 2015 ZX10, 2017 R6

I switched to Fuchs Silkolene, and the engine hasn't complained ever since. It runs cooler and the gearbox and clutch love it

Silkolene is the best oil i used on my bike.
Correct me if i'm wrong but oil level drop doesn't happen because of the oil used, it happens because of worn engine seals. As a bike gets older, the more exponential the oil level will drop until new seals are put in.

I changed from motul 7100 to shell advanced ultra on my RTR and i feel shell fully synthetic is much better than the motul.
Shell is less costly, very low vibration like you only fell 0.1% vibration if you ride under 50Kmph. Now Engine is very well refined and i feel its awesome

Below 50 kis bike mai vibration hoti hai 😂 vibrations toh start hi above 60 hoti hai 🤦 ab tum koi bekar si bike chaloge toh hogi hi rtr mai hamesha se vibration ki problem rahi hai in my sf250 no problem and in mt15v2 also 👍above 60 vibrations start for that my Mt15 has second service due

One more suggestion is.. Can you make lab tests on the oil that's used in Authorised Service centers?
Im sorry to correct you. But the numbers for Zinc and Phosphorus, are lower then average. Because the calcium is high, that it lowers the antiwar additives percentage. Motul is a really weak oil. Try Yacco, that is really a strong oil. Or Bel Ray.
Very detailed review of the oil and great presentation, I have been using this oil with Liqui Moly MoS2 shooter in my NS200 for the past 21k kms with regular change at every 5k. I have never faced any issue at all and it has quite a noticeable difference in smoother gear shifts and high rpm nvh levels of the engine get very low compared to the stock Bajaj DTSi Engine oil. For future project kindly compare Motul 7100 with Castrol Power 1 Ultimate.

Used this oil first time, Oil level gets low after 1500km in my Gixxer sf 150. I added 50ml oil treatment which increased oil level from lowest to mid. Around 150ml oil decreased after 1500km
Like to see technical comparison between 7100 vs Castrol power 1 ultimate vs Shell advance ultra. I have seen Castrol power 1 ultimate technical video and note down the each component value in ppm. Also did the same with 7100 with the help of this video. But when you mention each component in ppm, do share that higher or lower value of that component is better for engile health. I was excited to see this video from yesterday night after seen your post. I like the way you speak or pronounce.

This oil is good but it evaporates faster. When i give my bike for servicing, the oil level coming out of the bike is significantly reduced. Hardly 500 ml oil comes out. And i change oil at every 3000 kms interval.
For me nothing like that... 1.5 litres added after 5k almost 1.4 litres drained
Thank you for picking up my comment, I have been having difficulty to understand whether it is the oil or the engine which is fault for decrease in engine oil level running within 5000 kms. Is it because engines made in India tends to have higher wear and tear than the ones made by Honda, Yamaha and other manufacturers? Is it the high revving? Should I opt for an engine oil which works better with older engines? If so, are there any suggestions?

Iam using this oil on my FZ25 since last 3 years this oil had made wonders the gear shift feels smooth as butter.Engine feels relaxed on highways and mainly the bike feels REV happy i would strongly recommend this oil for FZ25 owners

I use a Honda sp125 for my daily commutation. I am a regular user of Motul 5100 10W30. I was thinking to upgrade to Motul 7100 10W30 fully synthetic oil. I have been using motul 7100 on my bikes for sometime now, both are bigger cc bikes but as a rule of thumb I change them at about 2500 kms earlier then my service recommends, guess after your analysis I think its right plan of action for me.

I have used this 7100 10w40 on my RTR 2004v it was good experience but after 700km oil level dropped and my bike is very well maintained in showroom itself i didn't like tvs tru4 full synthetic oil so i switched motul everything is ok but sudden drop in oil level is not normal i think ? my bike has done 20000km i have switched to this oil ar 17000km i did use LIQUI MOLY engine flush then changed to motul 7100 10w40 ?
