    been waiting for this video!! great timing: Saturday morning, fresh coffee .... I'm settling in to watch all of this.
    *edit* ok great video mate, thanks for taking the time. couple of observations: the Instance List has the tracks in a different order than how they sit in Logic, which is a little frustrating.
    the first comparison between Q3 & Q4 was really interesting. to me 4 sounds cleaner, it was definitely my preference. it was in the tails of the high end around the hi hat... the release seemed faster? hard to articulate. when you compared Left to Right summing to mono: zero difference.

    • @Unders
      @Unders  หลายเดือนก่อน

      The order thing is odd. Because even if you add them in sequence the order doesn’t remain.
      I really couldn’t tell which was “better” in an A/B just different. But if you could then it was worth it test wise. Possible that 4+ hours of critical listening I should have taken a break an it would be clearer 🤷‍♂️
      Hope you enjoyed your Saturday, seems like you’re getting up just as I crashed out.

    • @coldacre
      @coldacre หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Unders it seems that the order list only affects AU plugs. I put 4 tracks into Reaper, renamed them 1 -4 and the Instance list was in the correct order, so VST3 plugs do it correctly.

    14:22 - You may have realised by now, but to switch between dynamic and spectral, you don't need to right-click and select in the menus. But simply to click on the toggle icon which appears directly above the Gain knob oas soon as you begin dialing in a dynamic range. Which makes for a much faster workflow. (initially, I too kept menu diving, until I realised the 'toggle' only appears once you dial in your dynamic range. But that's not required). :)

      What’s funny is. I know it’s there. But I’ve done it this way for near on 5 years, it’s an ingrained habit 🤦 thank for highlighting to others.

    • @Unders
      @Unders  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Like I said. Nothing that’s not in the manual. New users will find it useful, updaters can see application of new stuff. Things like spectrum grab get overlooked so it’s covered.

    Great video!
    However, I feel like there's a bit too much LowCut & HighPass EQ-ing on each element.
    (I like keeping things a bit more natural).

    • @Unders
      @Unders  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      its a plugin demo not a mixing tutorial.

    • @Crossfire2003
      @Crossfire2003 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes. That's true.
      However, I've said it because I'm seeing this trend online, to use heavy low-cut on every element!
      I, especially, dislike heavy low-cuts on main vocals.
      Some TH-camrs claim that "we don't need those lower frequencies" on a vocal.
      But, human voices do contain some of those lower frequencies too!
      I feel like taming such lows with a dynamic EQ leads to a more natural sound, compared to a heavy low-cut.
