  • I build a utility sink cabinet out of birch plywood and install it in my laundry room.
Since several people have asked for this, here's a link to the CAD files in Onshape: cad.onshape.com/documents/084...
You can set up a free account and get whatever dimensions you need from there. Have fun, work safe, and share your results.

Nice job, and I appreciate you left in the goofs -- we all do things like that. I love the log tensioner for the glue-up -- a great example of doing what you need to, with what you have, to get it done. Thanks for the link to the sink -- can you also post one for the faucet assembly? Thanks.

Thanks Paul! The faucet I bought is a "Forious". There's lots of brands selling something like this on Amazon, and I bought the cheapest one I could find at the time. I can't really recommend it (maybe get the second cheapest one!). It definitely feels a bit lightweight and although it works and hasn't leaked yet, it's not exactly rock solid when you swivel it around. Here's the link though: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Y4Y88Y6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

Awesome work/craftsmanship fam. This video was sent to me for inspiration and ideas on how to build my garage sink today. So thank you for this video. Now I just need to figure out how good I can make measurements since I don't have this CAB software lol

Thanks! No need for CAD software though. Onshape is free and in-the-browser, so you can set up an account and just use it without installing anything. Good luck!

@@EikiMartinson gotcha, thank you. I'm still in the struggle of making measurements, the misses keeps changing ideas and telling me all the details. I have to remind her, the key to building are the details lol.

@@OfficialDjSkittlz I hear you! The perfect is the enemy of the good. Usually when I get fed up with worrying about the details and just get started, it works out pretty well!

Genuine question.... the base is directly mounted on the floor. How do you think it will hold up over time to water pooling on the floor as tends to happen from time to time?

Thanks for the question Flynn! I can report that I have had one accidental flood in that room since I installed it, without any visible damage to the plinth. The polyurethane finish is tough. If you're really worried about it I suppose you could build the plinth out of something else, but honestly the birch plywood, suitably finished, is more water resistant than the particle board that a lot of cheap cabinets are made of.

Hi Corli, thanks for the comment. A word of warning: the first one I received was cracked and I had to send it back. Amazon made it right as usual though. Here it is, and good luck! www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VJZSPTS
