Fast trains in Serbia -- 200km/h and 160km/h at Belgrade - Novi Sad upgraded railway line [4K]

- This year, the overhaul and construction of the Belgrade - Novi Sad railway line was completed, and passenger train traffic at speeds of up to 200km/h was established. This is the first time that trains in Serbia ride at speeds of 160km/h and 200 km/h, on test runs and in commercial traffic.
This was achieved by the partial construction of new sections of the line and the modernization of some old ones. Significant changes compared to the old railway line can be seen on the slopes of the Fruška Gora mountain. Two single-track tunnel tubes, 1km long and a 3km long viaduct were built at the point of railway line descent towards the Danube river. On the section between Batajnica and Stara Pazova, the railway line became four-track. Along the line, the railway stations have undergone significant changes. In most of them there are 2 main passing tracks in the middle and 2 side tracks along the platforms.
There are two types of trains on the line, the new Stadler KISS (EMU ŽS series 410/418) for 200km/h and the slightly older Stadler Flirt (EMU ŽS series 413/417), as a regional passenger train with a speed of up to 160km/h. There are a total of 3 new KISS trains in Serbia, which run only on this new line. In the meantime, those trains got a new nickname in Serbia, "SOKO". Between stations Batajnica and Stara Pazova, it is possible to see some freight trains, but only on the side tracks of four track section. These are trains from the connecting railway lines from Ruma and Šid. On the main tracks to Novi Sad, that is not possible yet, because there is a fear of other trains running on the new line.
The recording was done at numerous locations along the sections with a higher speed of trains (200km/h at Batajnica - Nova Pazova - Stara Pazova - Inđija - Beška - tunnel and viaduct Čortanovci - Karlovački Vinogradi and 160km/h from Karlovački Vinogradi to Sremski Karlovci). The collecting of video material started in early spring, during the trains test rides and lasted for 3 months. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ

As commented above I did in fact ride this high speed service in mid October. Excenllent service, beautiful equipment and...very well patronized in both directions. People are riding these trains!

Those are not called high speed rails. They are for speed up to 200 km/h. High speed rail is above 240 km/h.

When in autumn 2022 I came overland from Hungary and boarded this train in Novi Sad, I wasn't aware it was high speed, and was so surprised to be in Belgrade half an hour later.... I can't wait for this train to connect with Hungary and Niš/Bulgaria, that will be really great.

ova pruga ima predispozicije i za 300+ kmh sto se moze uraditi ako u buducnosti zbog ekologije dodje do osetnijeg smanjivanja avio saobracaja unutar Evrope.
Na displeju u vozu prikaze 200kmh mada kada sam ja merio sa app speedometer voz je u jednom trenutku isao 217kmh. Sad ne znam sta je tačnije.
@miroslavmilosevic1040 Stadler KISS is capable of reaching 200 kilometers per hour. In Austria some trains can reach 230kph(Railjet with strong locomotive) Germany, France etc. have their 250-330 kph high speed trains (ICE(Siemens), TGV(Alstoms). ICE and TGV cost atleast 10 million euros more than Stadler KISS. If Budapest-Beograd line and Beograd-Niš High Speed Line is in operation in the future Serbia must buy further Fast trains. 100 minutes to Niš from Beograd is only with atleast 200 kph trains possible , like the Stadler KISS.

That looks like very nice progress! I'll be Interrailing this summer (again) and would like to include Serbia in the travel plans as well, but as far as I know it's still quite complicated because of the railway works.
You can take a train to Szeged in Hungary and then take a bus to Subotica from the Szeged bus station, and then take a bus to Novi Sad

Just wondering as I am planning a train ride through Serbia in summer: currently my app doesnt show me any international train services to or from Serbia.. Would you know whats the reason? eg. is it currently possible to go from Budapest to Belgrade?

It is possible, but requires a lot of transfers. 1) Budapest-Szeged-Kelebia (due to construction bus is on Szeged-Kelebia section), 2) Kelebia-Subotica (connection 2x a day), 3) Subotica-Novi Sad (4hrs via Sombor direct train), 4)Novi Sad-Belgrade high speed line

Kakav je prilaz starom tunelu Čortanovci?
Bilo bi lepo da se sredi stars trasa u biciklističku stazu, naročito deo od Karlovaca do Čortanovaca.
Deo stare trase se koristi kao put za vozila za održavanje kompleksa tunela i vijadukta!

Često putujem iz Sr. Karlovaca za Beograd. Nekada sam išao kolima a od kako su pustili ove vozove sve se izmenilo. Sve stanice su nove za pothodnicama ispod pruge. Udobnost i brzina na vrlo visokom nivou. Bravo za Srbija voz.
