Nah, he bought them at the supermarket and is just passing them off as home-made. He's been banned from even thinking about going in the kitchen ever since he tried to make himself a bowl of cornflakes unsupervised while Claire was at work, and they had to close the street.

I had a tear in my eye thinking about my black cat Molly who passed at 17 and a half last year. I saw her from being a newborn and her crazy antics had me in stitches. It's the first time we've not had a cat in the house for 25 years.

I bet this is Claire’s favorite anniversary as well since you didn’t destroy any of her utensils or cooking gadgets Also as a massive Buffy fan I love that you named one Willow
Congratulations on the new additions to the MATN family! I adopted three litter mates last month when they were about 14 weeks old, and they have brought so much joy and laughter into my life! One male is a black shorthair with a silky coat and tiny smatterings of white fur on a few parts of his body. The other two, a male and a female, are tabbies/tigers. The girl is named Tabitha, Tabby for short, and whilst she is mostly named after the character from the TV series Bewitched, I did think of your beloved Tabby, and I hope my Tabby does her proud. Congratulations again, Jon and Claire, and thank you for the years of entertainment, community, and countless laughs! Here’s to another fantastic year of MATN!
Thank you Jon for giving two fluffballs a new home, a sense of balance has now returned to MATN. A wonderful anniversary special. Thank you also for promoting the local rescue charities. The work they do is phenomenal. Our local, New Start Cat Rescue, has grown from a front room type of operation to one of the biggest and certainly the best. Lucky you.
Aww such babies! Coincidentally, they look almost exactly just like my old cats did as kittens, who were also sibling cats, just with their personalities swapped. Our tabby the socialable, adventurous one, and the black one a shy sweetheart. If those guys are any indication, Xena and Willow are going to grow up to be the most beautiful cats!
Watching the tabby playing with the blanket at 7:50 or thereabouts was adorable. Also informative as I've very little personal cat experience and haven't actually seen the way that their paws mildly distend as the claws come out before
Oh they are absolutely gorgeous!! I'm so impressed by them being so confident and comfortable playing after only a few hours in a new place, they're such brave kitties and MATN HQ is clearly such a warm and welcoming place for tiny fluffs! And Ted is being such a sweet, gentle big brother. I would though strongly encourage you to consider keeping them as indoor cats permanently, maybe some supervised outside time on a lead and harness. There are so many places online talking about the arguments against outdoor cats, so I'm not going to rehash it, but in brief, outside is a big, scary place for little cats, and it is entirely possible to meet all of a cat's needs and keep them fully engaged indoors, especially with sucha well equipped kitten nursery and them keeping each other company!
Jon is the reason that, when my cat of 20 years died, I looked for an older cat as a "replacement." I remember Jon saying that older cats tend to not get adopted. This mentality allowed us to find our new cat, Sunny, whose 3 years old.
I love them 🥰🥰 full series please I wanna see a 100% run of these little friends! Also I really liked Tungsten and Titanium, somewhat sad they don't get to keep those names :P
Your story about the stairs reminded me about when my two kitties were moved from a condo to a two-story house. They had no clue how to use the stairs, so they took the first steps super slow. My sweet, stupid boy with coordination issues and excessive bravery decided to rush them and regularly smacked into walls at the bottom. My sweet, timid girl with and overabundance of caution just went very, very slow. After about half a year, they’re both experts who can fly up or down like black, furry bullets!
Congrats on the new cats! I really hope you reconsider allowing them to roam outside. Indoor cats are proven to live much longer lives than cats that are allowed outdoors. Also, outdoor cats are devastating local bird populations! If you're interested in giving the cats a chance to go outdoors, it might be worth getting a catio or working to leash train them!
I adopted two kittens earlier from a local non-profit earlier this year. They add so much life and energy to the space! They are about 7 months old now and getting along splendidly. Adopting two kittens together is definitely the right move!

Some say it was cruel but when a stray cat and 3 kittens chose us as they're slave I mean owner. I kept them inside for until they passed away at 20. I'd never had slept knowing they were outside all night.
Considering how much shorter an outside cat's average lifespan is, and their destructive impact on the local wildlife I'd say it's crueler to have them outside.
With letting cats outdoors make sure that all outdoor time is supervised! Not only do unsupervised outdoor cats pose a risk to themselves, (feral dogs, disease and stuff), they also pose a risk to wild bird populations!

Haven’t finished the video but seeing comments: ALWAYS keep your cats indoors, both for their own wellbeing AS WELL AS the wellbeing of other animals! The number of dangers outside are insane, depending on the region/part of the world-everything from dogs to wolves to coyotes to even cougars. Even something like a raccoon is dangerous to, say, kittens. Not to mention the injuries that happen even just in running into another cat if they get into a fight; and because they’re outdoors, you won’t know if they’re hurt, bleeding, injured, if it’s gotten infected. Cars and other vehicles constantly lead to animal death, there is no way to just magically prevent that, and there is nothing safe or natural for an animal in an environment with vehicles around. Cats aren’t like, miraculously in a better and more “natural” habitat outside when there’s a street Right There. Not to mention cats that huddle under cars from protection against the elements or crawl on top of wheels and the owners of the cars don’t know that-this also leads to a lot of animal death. And then some people will declaw a cat (already inhumane and hurting the animal) And Then send it outside… so they mutilated their pet and then left them without a defense mechanism outdoors. Like. Straight up: Do Not Do That. You’ll also never be able to fully account for the weather-there will always be sudden freezes overnight, which can be lethal to your pet, flooding (stray cats-and your outdoor cat is a stray cat in all but name-like to crawl into gutters and drains, and don’t always know when there’s suddenly going to be a deluge), heat waves-cats are especially sensitive to cold weather and require warmer temperatures in general (this goes quadruple for kittens), but when it gets over like 100F/37C that’s dangerous for pretty much any mammal in terms of staying hydrated and avoiding heat exhaustion. There is also the expense and exposure to pesticides, because you’ll have to constantly be putting topical treatments on your cat for fleas and ticks. (Don’t use a flea collar! Not only is that an incredibly easy way to outright poison your pet, but unless it’s a breakaway collar anyway, it’s an outright choking hazard for all the possible things a cat could get snagged on while wandering around.) And then there are people! Lots of people are cruel to animals for no good reason. I mean horribly, horribly cruel. You send your “pet” out into the world (is it a pet if you’re not taking care of it?), and literally any person who doesn’t like your pet for any reason at all can and will hurt it. Literally just google a handful of news stories-people do truly horrendous things to other people’s pets, and you want to just turn yours out like “well, good luck Fluffy”? Your cat is a domesticated animal. Humans domesticated them, it’s tens of thousands of years too for the “they’re a wild animal put them outside” argument. There are countless options for enrichment indoors, from toys to buy to stuff you can make/build yourself to keep your cat entertained. (And if possible, making sure you have another cat around-they’re very social animals.) Keep your windows open occasionally, if you have a screened in balcony or porch or access to a safe, enclosed outdoor area, put them on a harness and let them have some time in the fresh air. But don’t turn a domesticated animal outside with cars and other animals (animals a cat might have never interacted with if they hadn’t been. you know. domesticated and adopted by people) and other humans who DON’T like cats (have you ever heard some of the shit cat haters say??? it’s creepy as hell) with this whole ‘it’s more natural for them to be outdoors.’ There ain’t nothin natural about the environment you’re sending them into. Also, if you don’t care about your own cat(s), do try to care about other animals and the environment. Outdoor cats account for an insanely high number of smaller animals (birds, squirrels, etc.) being killed than is NATURAL-that is, it’s not normal to have so many outdoor cats, and therefore a disproportionate number of animals are hunted by outdoor cats than should be happening naturally. Since the argument for outdoor cats is usually “oh it’s natural it’s how they’re supposed to be” (again-these are domesticated creatures, not wild ones), well, it’s incredibly unnatural and devastating what the large number of outdoor cats does to local small animal populations. This is not to say it’s the fault of the cats themselves-they’re predators, of course they go after the small critters running around, and they have no control if thousands of humans dump them outside. No, the impact of outdoor cats on local animal populations is very much the fault of people, not the cats, and can be easily avoided. Keep your cats indoors.
to put it another way: cats are essentially 2-3 year old toddlers in personality and behavior (and intelligence). would you generally just have a toddler wandering around day and night outside? would you assume the toddler wouldn’t cross a busy street? would you assume there wouldn’t be other people outside who wouldn’t hurt that toddler, even if the idea seems reprehensible? would you be able to guarantee that none of the potential dangers outdoors (sudden freezing/burning temperatures, other animals, etc.) wouldn’t harm that toddler, left to wander around on its own? yeah no you’d all think that’s crazy. a cat is a toddler with a pair of claws. do not keep them outdoors. i don’t know how some people sleep at night with outdoor pets-i’ve had cats my entire life and i would be beside myself, i’ve seen all the horrible things that happen to other stray pets in the area. a person might as well not bother with a pet at all if they’re just going to shove it outside. also the number of people who put their cats outdoors without getting them spayed/neutered is MINDBOGGLING oh my god. get your pets fixed 😫
I don't remember exactly when I started watching you, but it was when you were still doing NV YOLO. I saw some article from someplace talking about you doing it, and decided to check it out. I really want another YOLO playthrough, or a Worst Wander/Survivor playthrough.

A sweet and uplifting video for everyone! Your new family members are beautiful and I can see that Ted is very happy with his sisters. I'll bet his separation anxiety won't be quite as bad now with the kitties always around. I have a question. Here in the US if you adopt any dog or cat from a shelter they are either spayed or neutered by the organization. Will you be having to have the kittens spayed when they are older? It's a good idea all 'round because you don't want to suddenly be surprised with a litter of kittens!! LOL

Congratulations on both the anniversary and your new family members... welcome, Xena and Willow! And can we talk about how chill Ted looks now? It's so sweet to see him so happy and welcoming of his new friends.
Not only is that an incredibly easy way to outright poison your pet, but unless it’s a breakaway collar anyway, it’s an outright choking hazard for all the possible things a cat could get snagged on while wandering around.)
And then there are people!
Absolutely beautiful kittens! I grew up with a cat named Willow, loved her with all my heart ❤️ Heres to another 11 years!
I don't remember exactly when I started watching you, but it was when you were still doing NV YOLO. I saw some article from someplace talking about you doing it, and decided to check it out. I really want another YOLO playthrough, or a Worst Wander/Survivor playthrough.
Can't wait for next year when you try to make baked goods or some other thing that sorta resemble them. Happy 11th anniversary and congrats on the new additions! Glad everything is going smoothly with their introduction to the home.
Many a two kittens.
Loved getting to see the new additions to the family! Always happy to celebrate this channel, this will be my 10th year subscribed and can only hope for 10 more ❤
Happy anniversary! Those two kittens are so cute! I look forward to seeing them in cake form…
I have an older tabby named Willow that looks a lot like yours! This is my favorite vid you've ever made!
I have only one thing to say to this: aaaaaaaw so cuuute !
They’re gorgeous! So glad everyone is playing nicely together. You couldn’t wipe the smile from my face.
My dad had a dog named Xena who just passed last year, same colors as the Kitten. Its sweet to see a new baby Xena running around
Lovely video! They are adorable and so is your dog.
Its so clear from the way you are talking how much you love your animals.
Glad you have had a nice time welcoming them in and thanks for sharing. I needed just a wholesome video about kittens today :) ❤
Bloody lovely! So cute, the nest of Ted willow and xena is amazing. What an amazing effort those foster parents go through nursing those babies😢❤. Enjoy your new babies xx
11 years and i just now realize how many times John says "you know.." and "so..ok" .. happy aniversary!
Jon & Claire congratulations on the new additions! 🐾🐾 Adorable seeing the dog snoozing next them with his Dino plushie ❤️🦖
In my experience as a cat shelter attendant (or Amateur Cat Herder), bonded pairs almost always have one bold and one shy.
An adorable dog, and two cute kittens, gets a like every day of the week.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MATN!! I’ve been following you since 2018, and I love watching all your videos,,, thank you so much for the laughs
ive always loved cats but this has just solidified im 100% getting some kittens when i move out on my own theyre absolutely adorable
I was feeling a bit moody about my favorite team being eliminated from the Stanley Cup playoffs and this video is just what I needed. Cheers Jon and Claire!
Jon the end of the video had me in stitches. I can’t believe I have been watching your videos for 7 years.
Best Anniversary special ever! Great to see them all comfortable with each other. Looking forward to Xena and Willow joining in the livestreams in suprising and hilarious ways.
Omg Willow kneading was sooooo cute!! They're all fabulous, congrats you too 😊
A sweet and uplifting video for everyone!
LOL
Many warm welcomes to Xena and Willow, and thank you for the wonderful 11 years Jon and Claire!
Congrats on the eleven years! And thank you for making wonderfully wholesome content like this which has really helped me, more than you know. Could you please relay a message for Xena and Wilow? Tell them I said "pspspsps"
Time has flown. It doesnt feel like ive been a fan for very long, yet i was there for 2 anniversaries before The Sadiversary.
