I'm going through something similar as you but on a 750 SRAD, so far I've uncovered 3 burnt & 4 bare wires on the Harness & i bought the Bike running!! I'm now going to make a complete Harness for the bike, good Video & continued good luck 👍
awesome job so far! really enjoying yet another series. what I tend to do when trying to figure out if parts/fasteners etc are correct for the year is I'll cross reference the parts fiche and check places like CMS who usually have a picture or two of the correct part number and go from there. sometimes I strike out then it's off to Google or eBay and use my best guess but have had decent luck doing it that way with the last few bikes I've built. keep up the great content, always a job when a new video drops!!
Nice job May have missed that sprocket nut with the penetrant? Was a little surprised u didn’t hit that sprocket nut with heat? Maybe u were trying to preserve the seal that lives in thd cases behind the sprocket Geez some peeps mess with shit they shouldn’t ! I like these ol kwakas they never set the world on fire with hp but they were a step up on thd gixxers of the day! Yamaha had the alloy framed fzr750 on sale at about a similar time or a bit earlier and the vfr 750 was out UK performance bikes mag did a modification series on the later j,k,l model ( early 90s) by the late great John Robinson who was a mechanical guru who wrote several great books they got that Kwaka going real good as they believed correctly it was ripe for mods great bikes Do u have Cera coat in Canada? Great durable finish with proper prep That paint cost was a shocker thanks for the vids
@@true-moto-resto Had the same problem with my sprocket as the air line was not strong enough, so I brought an electric 400Nm torque impact gun for a decent price (New Tool) and it just wizzed it off 👍
22:10 ... yes, I hear your frustration with people who bugger around with the wrong fasteners. Is it really so easy to lose the bolt, then just shove something else in? Apparently it is, for some people!
The job you do is excellent. Your not just saving classic bikes from the skip. You are giving back smiles and memories of time's forgotten. 👍
Wow, thanks for saying that !
@@true-moto-resto Your Welcome.

HinKarl, yea I used penetrant on it and a bit of heat, but yes I’m always concerned about the output shaft seal
The expenses price list should include Sore Muscle / Back Rub Balm .
each time i order for paint , i have the feeling I m ordering gold or silver , in France it s the same trend (and like you I have a discount)
Yea, it’s crazy. One supplier and brand is crazy $, the cheaper brand harder to use.

Induction Heater for the Sprocket
Would melt the output shaft seal in behind I fear

@@del0067yes! I’ve heard how good some of those are !!
Feel for you, I pick up non runner and put back on the street and find exactly the same butchery as you. Lol

Yes apparently , who eve had this bike apart lost many of the OEM fastened and stripped the ones they didn’t lose. LOL
Quite surprising how costs mount up? As for that front sprocket nut, who replaced it last, King Kong 🙄
Yea, no need for the nut that right
