I realize later. It was actually pretty cruel of Levi to give Armin the colossal Titan. Armin was the gentliest character and he gave him the most destructive power.
I think it was fitting to have a titan holder with a certain level of restraint which can be seen in Armin and Bertholdt. Although Erwin would be a good candidate as well, he's smart enough when to do it
On the other hand, it would have been cruel to give Erwin the injection. Erwin had already done so much, and he deserved to rest. To be honest, both decisions were cruel in their own ways and neither one was better than the other.
Armin: Marley fleet gets taken out Erwin: Kills everyone in range including Magath, Warriors possibly die depending on if Yelena sticks to trapping Pieck and Porco or not. Blimp can pick up Erwin and have him transform a 2nd time to wipe out fleet. Marley would have no warriors and no military commander being left in a complete state of disarray Excellent strategy commander
@marius andrei no its not valid because Armin did do this, he picked the bare minimum with destroying Marley's fleet. They had their shifter and with Magath still had a chain of command. Literally Erwin taking this route provides more options and a larger time frame for Paradise since Reiner would die in the explosion and be unable to suggest raiding Paradis after 3 days Edit: And you cant even use the excuse "If Armin did what Erwin did" because he didnt in canon. We can speculate on what Erwin *would do* but not Armong who's lazy ass did nothing for 4 years.
Unironically it should had been Erwin. Dude would had given an epic speech and convinced the entire world to not attack Paradis, with his words alone lmao
Kinda the main reason why Levi let him rest, coz putting this many expectations and pressure ona single man is unfair. Not that it is very fair to put that pressure on Armin, but I do believe Levi decided here with his heart and let live the one he liked less...Erwin could try and he d inevitably fail and it d cost too many lives....we all know the author, he likes to torture his characters as long as they breathe.
@raikage4173 raikagesan Agreed, but also the story is written so none of the accomplished d be possible without Armin either. On the other hand , if we are results oriented none of them really accomplished much, they just have different enemies now..the cycle is still ongoing.
If Levi chose Erwin both Erwin and Eren would have packed up the entire season in just in part 1. isayama had to nerf eldian side so they killed him Damn_the likes😳
And on this AU, it's certain to say that not even Hannes' death or the temporary mental, emotional and psychological breakdown Eren had on the Reiss Caves were comparable to the sorrow and grief he endured after Armin died, It surely was WAY worse than Historia's emotional breakdown and grief after Ymir left her!

Big cap. Enemies were always there even when Erwin was alive. There's no way the Marlian government would've stopped the attack, because to them, they were devils. And they needed resources, divert the attention of other countries to the island of paradis. What could've been interesting to watch was how Eren would've dealt with these delicate political situations, his gambles and the way he displayed courageous attitude which sometimes is very scary but cool.

We all are forgetting how armin's death would have changed eren, and how it would have affected mikasa too That choice might have had major impact in everything. Eren's drive has always been to save mikasa and armin.
well it cant get any worse actually it would be better cause eren would have just killed 100% of humanity outside the walls and this time around value his friends lives more to the point were he would have restricted their powers when they came to stop him.
He’s like “there he is the commander of the scouts, Erwin Smith,” I wonder if he’ll make me an officer yet. And starts to walk up too him with this little happy goody good look on himself;
For the people that say Erwin wouldn't be capable of killing his enemies across the sea think of this, Erwin was capable to sacrifice his own people for the cause, and Armin is supposed to be the pacifist yet he was capable of using the colossal titan to destroy his enemies in Marley. Imagine what Erwin would have done to save Eldia. I would love to see that happen ☹️
Erwin sacrificed his own people for his own dream of proving his father right. It was never about saving the people of Paradise, he just wanted to find out if his dad was right
@@lowresolutionbunnyfeng3919 It's not like he's gonna do the genocide thing right away. I can imagine him doing diplomacy and talking to world leaders to change their view of paradise and make Marley the common enemy if enough exposure, I mean it's pretty easy to make Marley the bad guy since they start war with other countries and abuse their dominant powers. Erwin could probably enjoy talking to people in banquets and discuss world problems with politicians than facing titans and watching your men get eaten. In either way Erwin isn't gonna lose his drive to protect his race, he'll probably just become depressed like every characters in season 4 but he'll still do whatever it takes for the survival of his people
Predicting Erwin’s choices if he were chosen is hard. First, we consider his ambition and the reason he fought: the basement. If we assume Erwin has the will to continue fighting after reaching the basement, and after confirming humanity’s secrets, we can continue this hypothetical. However it gets messy very quickly. 1. Erwin said he’d take precautions against the enemies beyond the walls to ensure safety for Paradis, however, Erwin doesn’t know the scope or severity of the situation, it’s not as simple as he might’ve thought. It’s the entire world against the island. 2. Hange says Erwin wouldn’t have agreed with the rumbling. It’s true that Erwin sacrificed his comrades in the past, but does it mean that he’s willing to put all of humanity at stake? Consider the circumstances as to why Erwin sacrificed the scouts, it was for his selfish dream, so after achieving his dream and going to the basement, we would have to see some major character development from Erwin, possibly unthinkable development either way. Speaking of unthinkable development, there’s the Jaegerists. S4 as a whole would look entirely different with Erwin. Would there be a reason for the Jaegerists to band together behind the backs of Commander Hange and the scouts? They did so in the first place because they found the scouts to be incompetent, but with Erwin, it’s unlikely anyone would think this. Even so, Erwin would have suspected a group to form behind the scenes. There’s just too much to consider when it comes to Erwin’s survival, I don’t think we would’ve gotten anything remotely similar to what we have had he been saved. I think that’s the point too, Armin surviving would mean the decline of the scouts with Hange as commander. None of what happened in S4 would’ve happened if it weren’t for Armin’s survival. Eren had to move forward so the ends justified the means, ensuring Armin received the colossal was definitely part of this timeline. Nonetheless, this was a fun video, I just wanted to point out that there’s no real prediction for what AoT would even look like if Erwin received the colossal.
I absolutely agree, All dynamics would have changed had Erwin been chosen, and more scenarios and conflicts would arise, But one thing that's definitely clear is the Island could have used his leadership during the turmoil of the yeagerists and such. He would have had a way bigger role in controling the situation than Armin did. I don't think Erwin would want agree to the rumbling either, since if he spent his life trying to prove that there's an entire world out there, he'd want to explore it not destroy it
@kanesh sharma TL;DR… there are too many things that would change if Erwin was chosen, we likely wouldn’t see anything remotely similar the the s4 we saw, at least on the scouts end
he actually did choose Erwin, it was in last moments before injection, when he realised its better to let Erwin go, for sake of his friend. He said something similar to Armin too I think. He didnt choose Armin to become Colossal, he chose to not return Erwin into that hell of life. If situation was somehow better, like its final battle or something, he would still choose Erwin to live. It was circumstances of their going into more fights, that made him turn Armin. Not preference.
That's right, he wanted to let his friend rest after all he's done for humanity. But that sentimentality cost humanity dearly as in season 4 things get out of hand on Paradis because it needed Erwin's leadership to keep everything under control
@@revvin7624 I thought so too, but one coment months ago under some amv, dont remember anymore the video, pointed out to me that Erwin´s dream was to find out if there are humans beyond walls and he would have fullified that dream. What I like about Erwin the most, is that he himself chooses what's right and what's not. Nobody would ever order him what to do. Erwin knew that at that time there would be no future inside the walls without Eren and he convinced people to give up their lives to save him. If Erwin had decided otherwise, that wouldn't have happened. The story would've been much more different with Erwin surviving because he wouldn't have accepted Eren, Zeke or Floch as his leaders. I like to think that he would've chosen the most effective solutions to problems like he always does and would've united eldians with the rest of the world because even his worst enemies would've listened and cheered to his astonishing speeches.
This. A lot of people say he would side with Eren but I don't think so, Erwin would definitely be a more capable leader that would give Paradis a lot more options than violence
yeah but there's also the bullshittery of isayama's writing that eren, since he can apparently changed things from the future onto the past with the attack titan, could always make levi choose armin. or, eren could do something or make something/someone kill erwin since erwin seems like he wouldn't entirely go along with eren
@@Adrastus_ I mean no he can only speak with past users of the attack titan so unless he convinced grisha to kill erwin which he probably couldn’t do and survive to give the attack titan to eren in the first place so he can’t just time travel and have whatever he wants happen with no repercussions
I don't think Erwin would have been on board for Eren's plan to utterly annihilate all life beyond Paradise Island, but he would have been completely on board with everything else including using a full powered Rumbling to reduce Marley and their allies to rubble. Hell, he would have planned out the attack on Marley before Eren even thought of it (visions of the future aside of course). The main difference him being alive would make is that he would be the leader of the Jeagerists instead of Eren. Also, there wouldn't have been a need for a coup since Levi, Hanji, Pixis, and Zachary would have done whatever Erwin wanted.
@@mirrorzone5224 We can't be sure how he would act. Killing titans and blowing up an entire town with civilians are two different things. We haven't seen Erwin attack normal humans. I'm thinking that he would've been more defensive and peaceful than Eren.

I now realize how efficient it would have been to use the collosal near the stage. It would actually take out all the military generals, diplomats of other countries and the titan shifters all at once. They would have had to work a little more in order to find the new shifters but it would work well in the end.
The shifters probably will be born on Paradise, because there are like one million of Eldians, and in the internment zones there are only few thousands
I mean using the colossal where the speech was held would get rid of all of the other titan shifters and almost all of the military instantly, so it would work really well
No, only the 5 enemy titans would die. Armor, beast, hammer, jaw, cart. And the titan abilities get reassigned to newborn eldians, most of whom are on paradis, so they wouldn’t be lost, in fact paradis would win a few of them.
@@user-td1jj8ll8y well there are still eldians being born outside of the walls, who’s to say those newborns don’t end up somewhere completely random, outside of paradis or even Marley

The decision to kill Erwin is literally so Eren could do this. So the focus is on Eren cuz he's the main protagonist. Otherwise, why would anyone rely on Eren once it's Marley arc when there's still commander Erwin?
The anime doesn't make sense in the beginning either. If collosal titan could be Marleyan's impending doom why they would send amateur titan shifters to paradis island knowing the collosal might fall to the wrong hands in the first place? If they just wanted to break the wall reiner alone could do that
@@friedcalamari4929 Reiner could have destroyed the wall alone, but aren't u forgetting that their real mission was to retrieve the Founding? PS: Although I agree that making kids warriors, is a bit dubious. I assume that it is to ensure that they achieve the peak of their powers in their early 20s but late 20s or even early 30s seem fine imo
@@arpitanand4693 The reason is simple. When they become adults, there's a chance that they might change their views while as children you know for a fact that they'll follow your every command. Sure, there's a chance that doesnt work but that point failure is even greater in adults. What is dumb is that they sent 4 kids alone to retrieve the Founder's power and it doesnt seem like they were taught how to enter aside from being responsible for the deaths of atleast 200000 people. Imagine you have to commit an unprecedented amount of genocide just to enter the country. An adult supervisor might have guided them in terms of strategy. Not consulting the Tyburs about the Founder's retrieval mission is also dumb as that would have actually given them useful Intel on the founder itself. Even if you dont know about the pacifist vow, the ancestor of the Tyburs according to propaganda helped take down the Founder before this, you'd think you would consult someone who might have memories of how the King was first defeated And why didnt they give them enough supplies? That's your goddamn warrior unit and you expect to give them such little resources that they end up in the situation which actually happened? With them losing the Jaw even before the mission started
Would Erwin agree with the rumbling? Maybe Would Erwin renounce Eren and fight with the alliance? Maybe The fact is Levi decision wasn’t in the interest of humanity.
Not to mention, Erwin would have kept eren correctly. He wouldn't have gone on his own. Erwin kept eren correctly so he wouldn't go off on his own, But since he passed eren went on his own. And the ending of AOT would be completely different.
I wouldn't doubt that Eren would do everything he could to go against Erwin (and Levi) every chance he got, he's very close minded, and holds grudges, he wouldn't just let Erwin keep him in check so easily if Armin died because of the choice
@@annaleeee Thats true. However lets put in consideration that Erwin also wanted to do the same thing as eren. Imagine the attack On marley but with better directive and more planning. Chances are the outcome would have been a lot better and sasha most likely wouldn't have die for many reasons mostly relating to the factor that it was planned more. Following with this if Erwin was on Eren's side he would have never became a prisoner/detained. This would mean yeagerists would never even become a thing or very rare story wise.
Eren looking down from the blimp, "Commander doing the dirty work I would've done for the sake of Paradis, the future of our race and freedom"(one devil to another)
Willy: tries to perform a speech that will likely cause everyone who agrees with the motives of the speech to die in a horrendous fashion Erwin: and I took that personally....
But imagine the outcomes of erwin still being alive. It would cost armin’s life if levi chose erwin, but if erwin was still alive, they would basically have better leadership and a this mess the scouts are in wouldn’t be a thing if erwin was also here. Maybe choosing commander erwin was probably the better choice. Edit: Bro there is a war in the comments
Dude, why do people act like Armin is the only human whenever we talk about who should have lived? Erwin is human too, his death has an effect on people too, he has loved ones too (especially Levi). He is worth more than just his leadership skills. If he is the one who survives it should be for more than just his skills. This is exactly why Levi choose to let him die. Because everyone hated him and treated him as a tool for war and winning. Meanwhile Armin is the uwu softboi who has to be saved because he has fwiends. It's not really about Armin, Levi cared way more about Erwin, he barely new Armin. It's to spare Erwin from further suffering and being used as a convenient monster for the people.
I love this series is a great foundation for theories and "what ifs". The fact that people theorize Erwin would do what Eren did himself is in character.
This is really beautiful. I' m not sure why, but I think this animation has a peaceful aura. I liked the face expressions so much. Especially Zeke's blank face and Eren's sadness. The music choice is great. I love this animation!
I kept thinking when I saw scene where Levi resurrected Armin that he should split the injection in half to make Erwin feed Reiner. I always think it will be epic if Erwin became the armoured titan
I don't think splitting might have worked out. Because, there wouldn't be a point of putting much more than necessary fluid to make a titan. At least I doubt that
@@patrickgardner321 that's a very apt and logical point or observation. Didn't think of that. Yeah, it might be true that all it requires is a lil drop or.. it might be those situations that this contradiction skipped the artist mind or... It could be those fast forwarded situations in movies or cartoons. for example; in Ben 10 when he transforms, they show all the transformation sequence Nd at times they just skip to the end result in 1 sec. I don't know if you get what I'm saying. But yeah, you're very right about that observation. The smallest drop might be enough to change people. But that doesn't really make sense if they had as much in the injection shot.
Honestly, Erwin would probably be the best choice. He has more control over Levi than Hanji as in the position of Commander and could control and outsmart Eren in a battle. Not only that but he would be able to convince most of the yeagerists to stay loyal to the military government.
@@revvin7624 exactly, I have always believed this, it is so frustrating to see ARMIN chosen to live over the literal commander. I suppose it would alter a good bit of the rest of the plot if Armin did die but realistically it made no sense
I love this version of the Declaration of War scene where Mr. Tybur actually witnesses the Titan appearing. Just a quick, frightening "oh crap, the enemies are RIGHT HERE" moment
No. The whole point behind Levi choosing Armin even though he wanted to revive Erwin is due to the fact that after finally confirming his dad's theory Erwin would simply lose his motive to keep on defending humanity. Hence Levi's constant flashback to Kenny saying that we all need to be drunk on something to keep moving forward.
No, you talk like Erwin was a sort of spoiled brat, he would keep moving forward of course he will lose some motivation, but he wouldn’t let the death of his comrades be in vain just because he fulfilled his dream.
Really believe the main reason Levi chose armin is because he wanted Erwin, basically his only friend (or closest friend), rest and not have to resort to becoming more evil than evil itself just to save everyone. This video actually kind of shows exactly what Levi didn’t want Erwin to have to end up doing.

I realize later. It was actually pretty cruel of Levi to give Armin the colossal Titan. Armin was the gentliest character and he gave him the most destructive power.
I think it was fitting to have a titan holder with a certain level of restraint which can be seen in Armin and Bertholdt.

On the other hand, it would have been cruel to give Erwin the injection. Erwin had already done so much, and he deserved to rest. To be honest, both decisions were cruel in their own ways and neither one was better than the other.
Armin: Marley fleet gets taken out
Erwin: Kills everyone in range including Magath, Warriors possibly die depending on if Yelena sticks to trapping Pieck and Porco or not. Blimp can pick up Erwin and have him transform a 2nd time to wipe out fleet. Marley would have no warriors and no military commander being left in a complete state of disarray
Excellent strategy commander
sasuga Commander Erwin
good ending for now 🐤
@Julius Yeah he can just stomp on the fleet or make Zeke transform and destroy it
@Julius we dont know its limitations. It's never actually been stated.
@marius andrei no its not valid because Armin did do this, he picked the bare minimum with destroying Marley's fleet. They had their shifter and with Magath still had a chain of command. Literally Erwin taking this route provides more options and a larger time frame for Paradise since Reiner would die in the explosion and be unable to suggest raiding Paradis after 3 days
Edit: And you cant even use the excuse "If Armin did what Erwin did" because he didnt in canon. We can speculate on what Erwin *would do* but not Armong who's lazy ass did nothing for 4 years.
Unironically it should had been Erwin. Dude would had given an epic speech and convinced the entire world to not attack Paradis, with his words alone lmao
@raikage4173 raikagesan gotta nerf him for the plot to survive tbh
Implying armin wouldn’t do the same
Kinda the main reason why Levi let him rest, coz putting this many expectations and pressure ona single man is unfair. Not that it is very fair to put that pressure on Armin, but I do believe Levi decided here with his heart and let live the one he liked less...Erwin could try and he d inevitably fail and it d cost too many lives....we all know the author, he likes to torture his characters as long as they breathe.
no he’s if manipulative and doesn’t care that his soldiers are dying
@raikage4173 raikagesan Agreed, but also the story is written so none of the accomplished d be possible without Armin either. On the other hand , if we are results oriented none of them really accomplished much, they just have different enemies now..the cycle is still ongoing.

@@hunterofdarkness8329 That would be interesting. The show would’ve found a better ending for Eldia instead of the mass genocide thingy.

As always, a masterpiece
Willy: tries to perform a speech that will likely cause everyone who agrees with the motives of the speech to die in a horrendous fashion Erwin: and I took that personally....
Watching this again why didn't Erwin regrow his arm lizard style guess he liked the look lol
Edit: Bro there is a war in the comments
and then the rest of the world will attack paradis island while they only have 1 collosal and 1 attack titan. in the long run they will be defeated
It's to spare Erwin from further suffering and being used as a convenient monster for the people.
i don't really like armin in this last season, i would pay 10million dollars to remake the story with erwin but i don't have 10 mil. lmao
I mean if we were there as a side characters that doesn't know who is armin are, pretty sure we would choose our commander rather than unknown soldier
@@grasu6668 with Armin they only have 1 collosal and 1 attack ya bum
I love this series is a great foundation for theories and "what ifs". The fact that people theorize Erwin would do what Eren did himself is in character.
What would eren do
If armin died?
Thats the real question
lol this part made me laugh XD 1:42
And his name is ERWIIN DANCHIOOOOOOOO
This is really beautiful. I' m not sure why, but I think this animation has a peaceful aura. I liked the face expressions so much. Especially Zeke's blank face and Eren's sadness. The music choice is great. I love this animation!

I kept thinking when I saw scene where Levi resurrected Armin that he should split the injection in half to make Erwin feed Reiner. I always think it will be epic if Erwin became the armoured titan
I mean the armours appearance would stay almost the same lol
I don't think splitting might have worked out. Because, there wouldn't be a point of putting much more than necessary fluid to make a titan. At least I doubt that
I think there is a certain amount of serum you need to turn into titan otherwise it won't work.
@@oyebolaopeyemi8590 rod reiss just had to lick some off the floor though
Ngl Eren with Anti personnel gear looks awesome
I saw many fan arts with Eren in the new ODM gear and he looks awesome in it, thought I'd draw him in one as well XD
That was defìnitly worth the wait ! Great animation as always
Sorry for the wait lol, I got busy for a month with other projects♥
Armin: stop Eren, there's always another way 😭
Erwin: **joins him**
Honestly, Erwin would probably be the best choice. He has more control over Levi than Hanji as in the position of Commander and could control and outsmart Eren in a battle. Not only that but he would be able to convince most of the yeagerists to stay loyal to the military government.
And he has more experience and his achievements is what brought humanity so far, Choosing Erwin would have been a no brainer
@@revvin7624 true.. Thinking of saving Armin I mean they lost tons of people already.. To make a difference was the only sane choice left

Just a quick, frightening "oh crap, the enemies are RIGHT HERE" moment
this video has classic internet vibes to it. it feels like something that would be made if this season aired in 2009
And I'm sure that he wouldn't cry like Armin 😃 actually, I think he would have fun XD
He would be badass
@@ezelegui7901 pretty sure he said he would
