- In this episode, Michelle and Alex have a "stay-cation" in Rotterdam (the Netherlands), spending one night at a luxury hotel at the top of Rotterdam's second tallest building, the Euromast. Is it worth the steep $400 per night rate? If you don't like the menu at the Euromast you can always go into to the park across the road to restaurant Parkheuvel. Two Michelin stars.
oh, that’s a good tip! stay in the suite but go to parkheuvel for dinner. plus, a beautiful park!

Oh how times have changed... 6 years ago I stayed in the same room for 199€ including breakfast, snackboard and champagne!

the nicest hotel in rotterdam goes for about $130/night 😅
@@buncharted Ehhhh where did you get that information? 😅 I looked for a random night a few weeks away and there are plenty of €250,-+ rooms, including some for over €600,-.

plus, i think the euromast itself is a tourist trap but not the restaurant or the suites (based on who else was up there with us, i mean).
Hey guys! Not the right video for this question, but what shipping container/pod company did you guys use when moving to Rotterdam? Or did you just ship a few boxes?

The cheaper stay is in the hostel of a cube house. 10 years ago they didn't had curtains for the strange windows. (Not that special as Euromast tho)
staying in the cube house is on our list!

I think a good part of the price is exclusivity; not many people will have the opportunity to stay in the Euromast suites! The value then is very individual... what is this experience worth to you..
There are of course cheaper hotel rooms to book but I do think you have received a very personal service. So at the end I do think it is not too expensive but I would say: Not a thing for everybody 🙂
i doubt we'll be back, but we appreciated the uniqueness of the experience. i think that's a good way to frame it. it definitely felt special.
I wonder if it’s still possible to abseil from the Euromast. It was in the past but I think they closed that down.
i don't think so, though you *can* still do that from scheveningen strand, i think!

1:43 That thing is the tallest thing in Rotterdam, and I think it's butt ugly too. It's called the Zalmhaven and I really hope our municipality won't allow the construction of yet more of those hideous things
