- Every day, our veteran community is involved in a silent, but deadly, war. A war we don’t hear about on the news. A war that, unfortunately, often goes over-looked. Many of our veterans are part of a war against themselves - a war between their own life and death.

This past January, Blake Cook, an Army veteran and NFQ athlete, was the pull of a trigger away of ending his war, with death emerging victorious. However, he would not accept defeat, and admirably overcame his temptation and pain. He lives to tell his story, to share his scars, in hopes of saving as many lives as he can.

“My Scars Tell A Story” is an emotional and inspiring mini-documentary that gives Blake’s first-hand account of this story.

17 veterans die by suicide every day, and the rate is increasing. Reversing this is not easy, but if we can save even one life through Blake’s story and this video, our goal has been achieved. Veteran or not, if you are suffering, you are not alone, and help is waiting.
