    Partly because of this video I searched out dealers in my state that carry Maruyama, I have a few dealers in the area but only one stocks the trimmers. I stopped in a demo’d a B27L Turbo and left with one. It’s too bad that such a good brand is so unknown, even in the lawncare industry. I’ve only put a couple tanks of gas through it so far but I absolutely love it, my Stihl FS94 is now up for sale! Thanks for the review!

    I purchased a second Maruyama (B30L) last year to replace a previous Maruyama that I had used for over 30 years. They are such a reliable machine that I searched for a place where I could buy another when my first trimmer wore out. Like you say, they're not readily available. This is my first experience with the head that you can thread and wind. I like this feature but have found it to be very hard to remove the head when necessary. Your video made it look easy, but I have found it to be quite hard to press the 2 tabs and have it come free from the head. I don't know if there is something I am doing wrong, but it almost makes me regret buying this new Maruyama. Do you recommend applying WD40 or something similar to the internals to make it easier to remove?

    • @PowerEquipmentMan
      @PowerEquipmentMan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have never had any issues getting the head apart on these, but then again I have fairly strong hands from being a mechanic. I would not recommend spraying any lube on the head. The only reason you should ever have to disassemble the head is if the string gets stuck inside, otherwise these is no need to remove the cover just to rewind the head. You could also try a replacement head for it, one I use from Oregon is 55-985 amzn.to/3vvSvDU

      @@PowerEquipmentMan Thanks for your response. Maybe I just need to do some hand exercises to get these old man hands a little stronger. Question: is this replacement head (the Oregon 55-985) similar to the Maruyama head? Does it feed and wind in a similar fashion?

      The Echo - Speed-Feed 400 and the Shakespeare - MAX Load PRO Trimmer Head (Available at Lowes & TSC) are both very popular universal trimmer heads which use the same line loading concept. Personally, I'm aiming on picking up the Shakespeare item soon, myself. Not that I need it but spares are good to have.
      I've owned a B30L Turbo for four years now. I'm 44 yro, 6' 3" and even I have a hard time reaching my fingers to push both tabs. It seems ironic, because one doesn't imagine Japanese hands being very large either, but what do I know, I'm in Kentucky.

  • @717790

    I have the echo speed feed head which is very similar and I just turn the top part and hold the bottom then that way the string doesn’t get all tangled up as I am trying to feed it into the head. Y'all look up the Husqvarna 130l 28cc that's exactly what this is but a cheap knockoff it has all the same features but the motors are way different the Husqvarna motor is way stronger

      Interesting. It looks like the Husqvarna is actually the cheap knockoff of the Maruyama. The Maruyama B30L is around $150 more than the Husqvarna.

    You are loading it kinda wrong. Spin the top and hold the bottom. Prevents string from tangling up.
