  • In this video series we’re covering 4 “layers” of French pronunciation. We will train our ears to listen for them and then imitate them one at a time. In each video we break down one layer in detail and give you the opportunity to practice.
When you put the 4 layers together you will have at your disposal a reliable method to improve your speaking skills consistently and progressively, while still enjoying the language learning process!
The 2nd layer is... vowel placement.
Vowel placement refers to where in the mouth you place emphasis when you create vowel sounds. In particular whether in the front, center, or the back of the mouth. Vowel placement can differ widely from language to language.

I learnt more about French pronunciation from these few minutes than several hours of French lessons. Thank you.

I can't believe this series doesn't have more views. I hope the creators leave the content up for the people who will come along and appreciate it like we do.

Très bonnes explications pour la prononciation du français, particulièrement pour les personnes influencées par la prononciation de l'anglais! Je vais les recommander à mes étudiants. Merci

You give French more clarity than what one hears say from Parisians. They certainly mumble in the back of their throats.

Parisians and the northern half of France in general don't open their mouths much when speaking

It used to help me thinking of the vowel sounds at the front of the mouth, but now it seems to help if I try to speak like an old Hollywood action star like Kirk Douglas or Clint Eastwood when they're acting angry. Never let go of that jaw tension.

I absolutely love love love this but as a woman it is VERY hard to match your key! Perhaps you could bring a female in for the ladies to hear to match their pitch? Thank you for the help!
