This explains why I love listening to French even when I don’t understand what the speaker is saying. There is a rhythmic quality completely missing from other languages.
The pitch of the voice doesn't always rise at the end of interrogative sentences; There is a difference between the intonation of 'questions fermées' vs. 'questions ouvertes'.
French is my sixth language, and I have been studying for about a year and a half. I have struggled with verbal communication in French. I am much better at reading comprehension and writing. With that being said, the rhythm point that you mentioned in this video was totally eye-opening for me, and I do believe this will help me a great deal. So, I thank you for this video. One more thing - isn't it so that in French, you ought to drop the indefinite article before occupational titles? So instead of saying: "Je suis UN professeur de français ." wouldn't you just say: " Je suis professeur de français ?" I am only asking to clarify, not to nit-pick. Lol Merci à vous !
Hi W0rdsmiff: You're right that it's correct to omit the article when stating your profession, however it's also correct to include either the direct or indirect article in these cases. Here's a French article on the use of articles before the noun with professions: activitesfle.over-blog.com/2015/04/expression-de-la-profession-je-suis-un-le-professeur.html We thought it would be helpful to use the article in this video to highlight the pronunciation of the liaison, which can be tricky for some people. Thanks for watching!
I don't speak French but I can tell this dude speaks it really well
Awesome description with Music genre 😂😂 Jazz and musical and the length! 😂😂 Incroyable
Your way of explaining this makes it so fun and easy to understand, thank you!

Many languages have the same rhythm as French. Primarily Breton which is said to have greatly influenced the way French is spoken now
As a Spanish native speaker now I want to learn French because of the same intonation
not at all

Lively, however...teacher is "professeur" and also, you don't use the indefinite article before jobs/professions.
Therefore, je suis professeur ...
"English is like jazz music" **then proceeds to ask 'do you speak french' in the the voice of 'ya like jaz?'**
'proffesseur' oops no double f. But this clip gets at something important that doesn't get stressed (sic) enough in language teaching. Well done!
Very helpful. Merci!
