- After the previous video I wanted to learn more about what separated Kun Khmer from the rest. I was invited to Kingdom Fight Gym Phnom Penh to learn some of the basics.

I appreciate you briefly mentioning the history of kun Khmer and acknowledging why a subject like this would be so sensitive to Khmer people. While I appreciate most people's eagerness to learn kun Khmer, I don't think enough of them take the time to learn the history of it, and that's when they can end up being offensive unintentionally. Clearly, this teacher took the time to learn and I respect that. And your original belief that the term "kbach kun" is a general term for martial arts is correct. "Kbach kun Khmer," or "Kun Khmer" for short, is Khmer martial arts. You did great for your first day, by the way!

Great video man, I always wanted to learn Khmer Kickboxing and have always stayed away from Muay Thai being proud of my people. Im now taking an online Muay Thai class but adding more of a Kun Khmer style. Thank You for this, I wish there were more Kun Khmer gyms in the U.S.

still looks like muay thai to me...exact same stance and movements
Similar stance but the Thai normally use the horse stance. I seen difference stances in Kun Khmer. The Kun Khmer gym in Canada do the dragon stance. There are stance like crocodile (Krouper ha) and Kbach Kla (tiger).

I mean you could call all punching, punching, you can call all kicking, kicking. There’s only so much variation while remaining effective. Its just the origin that changes the name.
The Khmer that live in on the border especially in Surin, Thailand used to refer fights or boxing which is called Wai Bok.
