Beautiful! James Taylor said it best, "Deep greens and blues are the colors I choose." I love all the mixes that contain blue and shades of blue. But without the other side of the color wheel, we don't see the blues. We need them all.
Oh my stars! I am so happyI found your 100 day project. I just recently started exploring watercolours. I just finished my first colour swatch pallet and leaf painting and I am enjoying it so much seeing what colour combinations I can come up with. I love your day 1 &2 as the gentility colours remind me of sun bleached sea shells and the muted greens of the pant life growing on the sand dunes. I also love day 19&20. This colour pallet reminds me of the beautiful colours succulents plants come in. The echeveria succulents colour variations will suit this pallet so beautifully.
I have 2 favorites: Days 1&2 and Days 19&20. Both color palettes would be fun to use for illustrating fairy tales or other children's stories. I think it would be fun to do a series (like you are with the leaves) using these palettes. I think fruits or vegetables would work well. I also can see all of these used doing abstracts in the style of @creationsceecee. I'm definitely wanting to do this type of color exploration in the future.
I love the idea of fairy tale illustrations with these palettes, so much potential. I have a piece of fruit coming Thursday, I think you are going to love it!
A few of my favorites are 5&6, 9&10, and 11&12 - but it was really hard to single these out. What your process showed me is that just about any combination can create beautiful mixes. I struggled with coming up with my own ideas on where to use the colors...I can be a little too literal and it takes a while for inspiration to hit. I need to train myself to see the possibilities. So I appreciate that you explored and shared ideas for each one - this was really helpful. Thank you!
Rachel, thank you for your comments. Yes, beautiful mixes are everywhere, you just need to pay attention usually. I can get lost in their softness and water splashes as you can tell. I do hope you start asking yourself daily when you see a wonderful color combination, what would I create using that? The more you do it, the more naturally the thoughts become. Have fun imagining the possibilities!

Blues are still not my favorite but I have grown fonder of the darker, duller ones for sure.

I am thrilled that you are mixing colors and painting leaves with an interest of different color combinations. So excited for your journey!
