PLEASE NOTE: The banknotes are shown in order of the Queen's age on the portrait used, NOT the banknote's year of release or issue.
'A Great British Adventure' is a series of videos that have taken me all over the UK. The videos are based on the new A-Z 10p coins - they aren't videos about the coins, rather, they use them as a sort of contents page. They will be uploaded every 3 days for the next 3 months or so, although there will be some miscellaneous videos in between.

To add complication here; just saying "Queen Elizabeth" could either mean the current Queen's mother, as she was also called Elizabeth, her full name being Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. Or it could refer to Queen Elizabeth the first, who was Queen in the 1500's. That's why the current Queen is Queen Elizabeth the second.

My only complaint was that you forgot to bring up the portrait used for Jersey's £100 note which was issued in 2012 for her Diamond Jubilee.
It uses a holographic portrait of the Queen, taken in 2004, called Equanimity. It's a truly remarkable looking banknote for collectors.
May our remarkable Queen Elizabeth forever rest in peace.

The second portrait of the queen on coins was actually used starting in 1965 in Canada, where it was produced by a Canadian Artist. There was a third portrait in 1990. Then in 2003 came a new portrait used on Canadian coins today.
Have some silver 1 OZ coins from different countries with even a higher variety of portraits of QE2

Those Canadian 1s and 2s were a part of my childhood. The 1 was replaced by the "loonie" in 1987 and the 2 by the "toonie" in 1996 - she appears on both, of course, but it's not the same.

Nice. One of my cats is pregnant (the father is another one of our cats) and we’re very happy. We didn’t get him fixed because we wanted kittens, at least temporarily. They’re so cute.

James and Travis In Oklahoma I think the original commenter is surprised about there being a note because nowadays Australia has a $1 coin, not note. I’m Australian and I was surprised about it - I’d assume that to be the case for the original commenter as well.
Yeah, if you look at your dollar coins, you'll see they only go back to the '80s. Australia had paper money back then, too. Smaller coins go back to 1966, because before then, Australia used pounds, shillings, ounces and other weird US units for money.

FizziPlayz The current oldest living people are 115-120, meaning to be the oldest person alive we have to wait for her go get that old. There's plenty more 90 year olds than 120 year olds so until she reaches that age there's just no way

I have a question though: When we were releasing our new plastic £5 and £10 notes, why did we continue to reuse the old portrait when she was younger of Queen Elizabeth rather than an updated one when she's older?
I don't know if I'm honest, and haven't been able to find the answer online. It might be a politeness thing - perhaps we don't want to offend the Queen by using a wrinkly old portrait, however we continue to update the coin portraits, so I really don't know!

I remember in Primary School we celebrated her Diamond Jubilee with a fancy lunch and we waved Union Jacks.
We were also given these special Jubilee coins (I still have mine.)
