    good video. I have replaced many of those sensors. Glad I got training from Traulsen when I did a few years back.

      I think it was late 90's when that stuff came out. We all freaked out at 1 st but it has actually been pretty good stuff. That the 1st break down this unit it's 11 years old. Not bad.

      No not bad at all. When I was back at Hobart we cross trained in the Traulsen units too. I still have the master service manual on those.

      Hii sir, we have 3 door Tralsun freezer ,the Controller not giving correct temp reading,even I changed Original Green colour Cabinet probe.when I check with Digital thermometer cabinet temp was 0°F but freeze controller was showing 14°F

    Thanks for all the vids, but especially on the testo probes. I am in F&B operations at a horse race track but have also taken on "first responder" duties for refrigeration and beverage equipment problems. Try to weed out the minimum wage "operator error" calls and take care of easy fixes, as well as implementing a condenser coil cleaning schedule. We have a lot of 20 yr old equipment from when the facility was rebuilt after a fire, so just about every other day there is something going down, between two large kitchens, seven bars and six concession stands. Just bought a testo pressure and temp probe to add to my toy box. Still need to call the pros when its time to pass gas or anything heavy or complicated, but wanted to get the tools to add to my diagnostic skills. Finally going to take the EPA test damn near 30 years after earning an HVAC degree in community college, but never going in to the field.

    Nice video. I am servicing our Traulsen 2 1/2 door model. First issue was about 18 months ago when the unit started to freeze up on the evap coil. We thawed the unit and it took another 18 months to freeze up again. I downloaded the customer service manual and learned a few things about our unit. Good thing, because after unplugging it, the temp setting was at 35F. I set the temp to -4F, 2 degree offset was factory, and the date and time were put in. During the cooling and defrost cycles, I access the Cb and El temps. Cooling cycles, the temp probes are in line with freezer temp. During defrost, the Cb and El are 35 and 37F respectively. That tells me the Heater is working.
    Now, the evap fan is supposed to shut off during the def mode and open door. That does not happen. I am wondering if this is why the unit if freezing back up. If frozen air if forced up into the evap box, the edges away from the heater may remain cold until the unit freezes over. Thoughts?

    Was working on a True 2 door reach in freezer the other day, with a dual cap tube. Not freezing properly I cut back the cap tubes 3 inches or so and a new drier and weighed in the 404a charge. The compressor was noisy before and a history of it being noisy. During an efficiency test it took a full 5 minutes to pull down to 8"and it climbed back up positive in under 1 minute. I was taught it should pull down to 16" in less than 1 minute once it hits 0, and should hold for 5 min. My After 20 minutes of run time it went from 50 down to 23, but the superheat was 90at the compressor, and 20f Sub cooling. The high side was 115F cold temp in an 80F room. Most tech say disregard these readings till it reaches temp =/- 5F. my low side was about 16PSIG. Ill find out Tuesday if it reached temp I guess. One problem was the customer pushed these boxes inside the box, up against the back inside wall of the reach-in. The top shelf was piled up to the fan. I assumed this was half the problem on why they said one side would freeze and the other would be soft.

    Love your videos, thank you. I have a question for a 3 door Traulsen freezer. The compressor switch was clicking on and off and the motor would just barely move each time. I replaced the switch and now everything seems normal except the motor doesn't turn on at all now. The display shows the temp (86) but nothing happens. The door frames do get hot. I have also swapped out the Start Capacitor. Any ideas on what's wrong?

    I have to replace a True T-23 and I think I will get another T-23. It was between the True and a Beverage Air unit. I hear good things about Traulsen, but don't know anyone on the east coast that has one.

    you can check the calibration of the probes from the controller...CS is cabinet sensor and there is one for evap sensor....might be ES...not sure.
    that interface needs to be replaced cuz its flickering too much....coil will freeze up is probes are out of calibration

    • @NorCal-refrigeration
      @NorCal-refrigeration  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your correct you can check the EVAP probe temp on the display I forgot that.

      EVAP fan has a 2.5 min. Delay. If it dose not come on after that start at the relay pack.

    Update: I'm getting voltage on the purple defrost line as soon o plug it back in. Is this correct? My take is that it should only have voltage during defrost not sure??. I ohm out the heater all good. I think I need a new rely box. Any advice? Thank s

    I have a similar problem with a traulsen freezer not going into defrost I did what you did went into the custom settings and went to manual defrost, check for amperage on the defrost line and I have zero. Do you think it's a bad element?

    • @NorCal-refrigeration
      @NorCal-refrigeration  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check voltage if you have volts and no amps then the heater is bad. You can ohm out the heater also to check it.

  • @davidhodgin3792

    Read the probes through intel a traul and you would not have to gauges on it. Coil sensor is most likely issue. CB and EL in CUS mode. Unplug the coil sensor and control will operate of time only for defrost. Always use sensors that have GB on them.

      Ravi prakash yadav could be many things. But start at the evap sensor there is an ohms valve to temperature to check it.
      Test your defrost cycle. Compressor cycles off fan off heaters on. Check defrost heaters.
