    Iranians are wonderful people. So kind and free with their emotions. I work as a firefighter and recently had a call to a house occupied by Iranians. In passing i mentioned that my dad had died a couple of days before the mum burst into tears and even before we returned to the fire station the son had driven there and dropped a gift off for me. How amazing are they ?

Their culture is built on fables, proverbs, psychology, history, and not religion. In private everyone drinks and "mingles" in Iran before marriage. Parties every day.
      Also everyone in Iran has a satellite dish TV and they all watch english and american TV.

      Iran has been very well covered in the international media over the last several years regarding innovation and tourism from The NY Times to the Guardian to mainstream travel magazines. Much of the media especially in the US and UK feel that they can never deliver a 100% positive story about Iran without recounting some negative aspect of the country. It would be like reporting on the success of the vaccination campaign in the US but then mention well it doesn’t really count because of …. Institutional racism, unequal healthcare, the death penalty, etc… I do take your point, but if one does read about Iran the coverage can be quite varied.

    14:50 The people in the US don't all agree with the things the US government does either. I personally think the sanctions are too harsh on the Iranian people. The leaders of Iran do not suffer from the sanctions one bit. They are living large no matter what, it's the common man that suffers.

      @robinswamidasan 5 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @@jameswarfield4152 & Sir Galahad (Threepwood?) : We necessarily must get into politics if we're to seriously discuss these matters. And we should not be naive about the nature of politics and the job of ruling a country (any country). It's true that in a material sense the leaders of Iran or any country (the US or UK, for instance) do not suffer when bad times come to a country (or at the very least, they will be the last to suffer privations). They will still have food, shelter, security, luxuries ... and the pomp and circumstance that always accompanies those in power. A look at your own countries, whichever they are, will show this to be true -- e.g. during the Great Depression, 2nd World War, 1970s oil price shocks & inflation, the Financial crash of 2008, the current austerity policies. OTOH, they have more worries and a tougher job to do. In that sense, they do suffer.
      It is a prime responsibility of a leadership to maintain control of the institutions and the smooth operation of a country at all times, and especially when the country faces an external threat. This holds no matter how that leader came into power. It is paramount; everything else -- such as law & order, building infrastructure, collecting & spending taxes, combating corruption -- flows from it. Not that a leader needs to be paranoid about control. It's a very good test of a leader to see how he/she establishes and keeps control without getting paranoid.
      Given the history of Iran (say, post WW2) their leaders have every reason to be overly concerned with control, hopefully without too much paranoia. ("Just because you're not paranoid, it doesn't mean they aren't out to get you." -- Paul Allen, Microsoft co-founder. Ha, ha!) I remind you that the current leaders of Iran came into power via democratic means, unlike the former Shah who was supported by the US, UK, etc.. Indeed, the Constitution of Iran -- under which the Supreme Leader, Guardian Council, President, Legislature, etc. are accorded power -- was democratically approved of by the people of Iran. That is not a claim that most other countries can make, even if they now hold democratic elections to choose their leaders.
      Thus it is entirely normal and fully to be expected that any actions taken by the West (US, UK, Israel, EU, etc.) to undermine the prosperity of Iran, or thwart its aspirations, will hurt its people first and its leaders last, if ever. This is Political Science 101. I cannot believe there aren't enough people in the West, especially within the halls of Government, who understand this perfectly. (I learnt my Pol Sci in the West.) Yet they persist in enacting policies that hurt the economy of Iran under the vacuous claim that it will cause their leaders to adjust their policies to the liking of Western interests. They do this to other countries too, e.g. Venezuela right now. It has never worked and it never will. I can only infer that their deliberate goal is to cause enough despair in those countries so as to trigger instability and insurrection. Then the West will step in and loot the country, while claiming to help.
      That the people in the US (or other malevolent country) do not agree with their Government is a poor excuse. They are free, democratic and proud of it. Is it not? Why then do they consistently elect leaders (of whichever party) who enact such policies? You may individually disagree with your Govt., but it looks like the majority in your country do not.
      I hope this not too long for you, or other readers.

      It is the people that allowed those in power to take power and control them. How do you change that without going in and starting war? Through the people. When the people get tired of their terrorist sympathizing leaders that have stolen the power from the people and realize the sanctions are because of those they've allowed to steal the power the people revolt on those in power. It is a very complicated process and hard for most of those that have never been a part of it to comprehend. And these sanctions do indeed harm those in power in different ways. It is something I would recommend studying so you have a better understanding. We can't just allow funders of terrorism to continue funding. We've finally gotten most of those in our own government out (Obama, McCain, Bush, etc.) that were funding these regimes and now Trump is trying to eradicate them in the Middle East. It is very easy to listen to talking heads on TV spewing their propaganda but when you dig in and learn the truth it gets much harder.

    The standout theme is the welcoming and friendly nature of the people in general. The positive vibe and energy makes all the difference in the world. The company of such a lovely lady can make the experience surreal. I wish people around here were nice and friendly. It's very much the extreme opposite and it's definitely taking its toll and breaking me down.
