Excellent analysis. Switch’s library is so large & diverse, it deserves to have at least 1 StarFox and Kid Icarus title.

I would actually like to see Super Mario Galaxy 2 come out this year so I can play it in July this year. I'm desperate for that to happen, and I won't give up on that.
The Kid Icarus Uprising situation is similar to Bloodborne. The devs loved it and want more people to play it but they aren't the ones who make the call.

Let's go with the Direct next week. I think it will somewhat disappoint unless we get Prime 4. However Prime 4 or not this likely represents the last time we get a Direct without seeing games for Switch 2 and that's exciting.
They better hopefully bring Super Mario Galaxy 2 to the Switch! 🤞🏾

I think when it comes to Luigi's Mansion 1....I could see Nintendo adding Gamecube games to NSO on Switch 2 at launch or early on in the Switch 2 life, and the Gamecube games that don't need remasters like Luigi's Mansion 1 could just get ported over. Same with Pokemon Colosseum Gales of Darkness and such.
I'm hoping Nintendo can convince Bandai Namco to remaster more of their classic JRPG catalogue. Baten Kaitos getting a remaster has given me some hope they'll start doing this more. In particular I think they should push for Xenosaga to be remastered because of the increased popularity of the Xeno series since Xenoblade started. Next I'd definitely say they should get more classic Tales games remastered, probably starting with Graces F and the Xillia duology.
Lastly for a more personal choice I want them to do this classic JRPG push with Bandai so they will eventually approve CybeerConnect2's proposal to remake the original 4 .hack games. Since G.U. Last Recode came out CC2 has stated pretty much annually that they want to remake these games and it's a really big shame these games go for ludicrous prices on second hand markets right now, you're looking at paying $500 to get all 4 games CIB with the OVA's that came with them.
If you are a fan of Monolith Soft's Xeno series I highly recommend checking this series out too because it's just as good in terms of it's story telling, I do recommend watching the SIGN anime first though. Gameplay wise it hasn't aged that well though, but the original 4 games do play like a clunky early prototype of Xenoblade. Sail the high seas for these and emulate them because they aren't worth that ludicrous price, but G.U. Last Recode, the second series, goes on sale for $5 to $10 frequently nowadays and is definitely worth way more than that in terms of the amount of content it has.
As for your list. I think Star Fox Assault needs a remake more than a remaster. The gameplay is just too janky and needs a lot of updating to make it really fun. I really want a definitive edition of Zero though with a better control scheme and more levels and medals to acquire.
Wind Waker and Twilight Princess need to be released on the Switch soon. They are apparently ready to go from what the rumors are saying, so it's frustrating that they haven't released them yet. This year is pretty free of Zelda games so far so this is an opportune time to do that. If they aren't releasing that rumored 2D Zelda. Even then release one of them at least so there's both a 2D and 3D Zelda released this year.
I'd love to see Metroid Prime 2 and 3 get the same treatment Prime 1 got, but I don't know if them doing that will slow down the production of Prime 4, so if we get just an HD port I'll be a bit upset but fine with getting them.
I think Nintendo might do a Zelda 3D collection just like Mario's. For this June Direct I think Tomodachi life is definitely going to be announced for this direct.
Superman 64, Wave Race, 1080 Snowboarding, Diddy Kong Racing, Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy and Nintendogs. (On a serious note, Prime 2 Remastered! and then Prime 3 later)
Id like to see wwhd and tphd get the skyward sword hd treatment and run in 60fps. I think wwhd would benefit the most from that upgrade due to the timeless art style
I think DKC Returns should also get a Switch remaster
Bravely Default, FZero GX, and Ocarina of Time 3D would be my ideal remaster ports!
The idea Namco has been working on Star Fox Assault would be really cool. Even better if they added the other two Star Wolf members Leon and Panther to multiplayer, improved controls, and added more missions to the main game. That being said I only expect Zelda TP/WW, and Luigi Mansion 1 to be getting the remaster treatment for the next GameCube games on the list to be remade.
If they do, I hope they do some more work on balancing the characters. Wolf and krystal are on the opposite ends of the spectrum and it's insane.
@kurokamina8429 The reason for that is simple, really. Krystal is a default character for multiplayer, while Wolf is an unlock for it, so he gets to be broken. However, I agree nerfing Wolf to bring him more in line with the others would be nice.

All I want is a release date a new trailer for Metroid Prime 4.
I want to say that some of these will be in the direct but I have a habit of being somewhat disappointed with Nintendos decisions. Their shadow drop of Metroid Prime was definitely an exception for me so there is some hope at least.

I'm all burnt out on the Mushroom Kingdom... So many Mario & Mario-adjacent games, I'm just hoping we get a break.
Really hoping the inevitable remasters/remakes we get are not Mario-related in any way.
What if it gets revealed at a Direct in September? And if it does come in 2025, then I guess I have no choice. As long as it comes out in Spring or Summer.
At this point remasters or remakes are the only thing I ever look forward to with Nintendo.
I'm really hoping for Prime 2 & 3 though would love to play Prime 3 on conventual controllers as I've never played on Wii as I cannot use motion controllers. Would also love to see Other M as well 🙂
Starfox needs a reboot and Krystal deserves some love too! With this opinion out of the way! I would rather see some enhancement/ additions to the games already existing! Mario Galaxy 2 should have been in the 3d Mario collection on switch! Add it!!! Also a good example! Paper Mario ttyd has a Luigi adventure in it ripe for the picking for dlc! Why have we never gotten it!?
Soft reboot is fair but a reboot is too much. Fans are tired of that and just want to move things forward again.
Fans are tired for the same reason they are tired of the paper Mario series! They changed it after TTYD and ever since it's gotten worse and worse! Some people like sticker star or color splash sure! Heck even origami has its fans! Even still they aren't very good! The numbers don't lie and neither do shelves covered in dust where these games sit! Starfox is the exact same with having a side story in a game instead of its own! And command was a mess because they gave up! The issue isn't getting a reboot it's that company's have this "you think you do but you don't!" Attitude and don't care about their fans! Both game series have suffered this issue for many years now! If you're to blind to see it then it's hopeless!
@@shadoez0858 command was a failure in the eyes of fans because:
1. Cuthbert (an og programmer for the original starfox and 2 on the snes) wanted branching paths in the game. Which negatively impacted the story greatly as Imamura original wanted to make it linear which would have made the narrative more focused. But instead he choose to go with a choose your own adventure style game.
2. Whoever did the localization really screwed up the dialog. It is way less overly dramatic or cringe in the Japanese version.
3. The Gimmick First philosophy for starfox. Meaning that Command had to demo every aspect of the DS which negatively impact its controls.
Despite it not selling as well as previous games, it did do well. It was a DS game which is cheaper and only need to meet 1k to be successful. Despite how poorly StarFox Zero under performed, Miyamoto has gone on record stating that he wants to put more energy into Star Fox and Pikmin. He didn't lie as we did get Pikmin stuff and even a new game. Now with NEW trademarks made for StarFox, it might be on the way but saved for the next system at this point. The only question is if the backlash towards the forced use of the Wii U was a wake up call for Miyamoto.
I can't speak on on Paper Mario as I've never played it, but what I can say is that there's more light there then SF. They remade the most iconic game in the series, if it does better then the previous games then there is hope. I mean they even shot out some surveys on what you like about paper mario and unique characters. I would LOVE to get a survey asking me stuff like that for starfox.
Aye! I'm just saying the games used to be good but taking them in a direction that fans don't want nor ask for again and again is not healthy for the franchise! Beating yourself self in the head with a rock each day for a month doesn't improve your health! I can't make my point any clearer then to say go back to why people love these games and advance from there! And if you're going to push touch controls or gyro controls on the game at least consider other options because let's face it if your game isn't fun to play then you're gonna cramp your fans faith in your creativity and then you won't have the resources nor audience to provide your art!

Level 5 already announced an official release date of Oct 10th for 'Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time', so expect to see a bigger trailer reveal for that game in this upcoming Direct
One big announcement gaining ALOT of traction; Dragon Quest 3 2DHD
Though it seems kinda far-fetched/too wish-listy that it's actually going to be the full Erderick Trilogy in 2DHD, the original announcement was made back in May 2021 during Dragon Quest Day.
DQXII is almost certainly still a 2025/26 release, though with still likely at least a full year before the next main title game for Mario/Zelda/Pokemon, there are growing whispers that DQXII will be the big launch title for the Switch Mk.II?!

I believe the direct Is next week. My expectations are high for ports of Metroid and Zelda ( Prime 2 and 3, Samus returns and news of Prime 4. The long awaited Wind waker and Twilight princess hd). Theyll release separately. Wind waker is first. Link Between worlds brought to switch in hd like Luigis Mansion 2. A new 2d Zelda or remake ( Oracles, Minish cap or Zelda1 and 2.) A new Donkey kong country 3d open world 🌎. It's been past 10 years since tropical freeze. There's my prediction. Hype is real. Let's do this!

Xenoblade Chronicles X might NOT come to Nintendo Switch 1 because the console gets severely underpowered when in handheld mode. And it would not be possible to run the game at a good framerate, they are going to wait for Nintendo Switch 2

i really don’t want a twilight princess remaster or a wind waker remaster, i honestly feel like a game doesn’t need 2 remasters or ports. i just want ocarina of time to FINALLY get its own HD remake, i mean come on it’s arguably the most relevant zelda game story and lore wise, and we have nothing of it on home consoles since it’s initial release.

See I would argue the most relevant of the older Zelda games lore wise is A Link to The Past. Orcania of Time copied a lot of the basic plot. Find the three crystals, get the master sword, things take a dark turn, , Zelda is lost, go quest for the seven sages/ medialians.

Fire emblem is going to be on hold for ar least a few years. It is not canceled outright like metroid prime 4 but it will probably be Years before it happens at least
Fire emblem is going to be put on hold for a while after engage was complete turd. Metroid prime 2 and 3 were consideted for switch after the release of prime 1 remastered but they are most lively canceled because prime 4 is canceled and 2+3 were mostly just being considered for promotion. Xenoblade x is probably not happening because nobody liked it and the developers of that game said they are done with the series

XCX is already an HD game, it doesn't need a remaster. All it needs is those 4 patches of content that didn't fit on the Wii U disc that you had to download from the E-Shop, but keep them on the cartridge this time. Also Wii U is stronger then Switch, the Wii U was a dedicated home console, the handheld half of the Switch holds it back. We don't get the best of both worlds with switch, we got 50% of home consoles and 50% of handhelds....so nobody really won.

One of the reasons Mario blossomed to stardom was consistent releases and even with smaller titles like Paper Mario. I think something similar with Zelda (2d, Hyrule Warriors, mainline) consistently could see Zelda look at similar heights.
