Pro tip... I have done countless oil changes on these skis... If you can't get anything on filter use a Phillips head screw driver and jam a hole in side and twist with screwdriver... It works in a pinch

I don’t know whether this matters but I was told to put in the Kawasaki marine oil full synthetic. It has an anti corrosion additive for a marine environment and is specially formulated for the camshafts for these high revving engines (Jaso-ma additive). Great video. Very useful. Thanks

Engine should be level. Not ski. Get a level with a bubble and set it on top of the valve cover

Great video very important information and entertaining as well.
It’s really nice to see that the newer skis have so much easier access to the oil filter.
On the earlier models it just flat out wasn’t visible and was very difficult to get to. Your forearm needed to bend in order to get to the oil filter on the older design hull.
It was much more narrow, not much wider than the valve cover itself.
I would’ve dropped a nose to let the oil go forward towards the stick to get a little bit more out, FYI….

Yep, those oil filters are a biotch aren't they!! I have to undo the fuel line to the fuel rail to get my big arm down in there. I always end up scratching the crap outta my arm.

Do you think you should have put a little more than 4.5 qts since the old oil filter had oil in it also?

So where you hooked that hose when warming, would that be where i hook up hose for winterizing too?

The thing with the ratchet, how do you call it? Also about the choice of oil, kawasaki oil, is the an objective reason to pick kawasaki one?

Kawasaki‘s oil is a standard 10 W 40 oil with hi Zinc, ZDP and phosphorus. Just like the old days of the flat tappet cams in cars without catalytic converter‘s they had oil that would coat the inside of the engine and help prevent corrosion in the oil wouldn’t run to the bottom. Today’s synthetics like mobile one are very good but they need an additive and they need to be able to stick to the walls of the engine to prevent corrosion especially during winter storage.

      I love it.
I didn't want to have any turbo or supercharger to fix. But I still wanted some speed.. best option for me..lol

I’ve got one and I think it’s a great ski. Stereo sounds great. Plenty of punch. Had it up to 108kph on the weekend. Felt a little off towing a ski biscuit, but I did have a heavy bloke as a spotter on the back.

Did you do the 100 hour recommended maintenance yet? If not how you feel about that? It’s like a 700$ tuneup
