    I love pothos. They’re so underrated! I have a cutting pot going and it just took off! It’s got so much new growth and is filling out so fast! And it can be neglected and still thrive!

    Uh I love this. I sometimes have to ground myself & look at ALL of my babies & appreciate them. Sometimes I get so wrapped up into these trendy rare houseplants & I stop appreciating the ones that got me into this hobby in the first place. I have spent so much money on these expensive plants & yes they make me happy, but recently I have stopped. My last purchase was a boobie cactus so I think that's a good place to end the rare plant buying for the year lol. I need to really start appreciating the plants for their beauty again, not their pricetag. We get so wrapped up into that sometimes so I'm ready to get humble again with my babies. 😂🌿💚

    • @CrazyPlantGuy
      @CrazyPlantGuy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ah...so true. Sometimes we let it get away from us but taking a step back and appreciating the ones you have really helps and reminding you why you got into plants in the first place. 😊

    • @katherineanderson2191
      @katherineanderson2191 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm from rural northern Minnesota. Unfortunately local nurseries where I live only sell outdoor plant during spring and summer. My only source of house plants is a Walmart and Lowes that are a few towns over. Pothos are common at the stores, but only golden ones. Other than that there are heart philodendrons, peace lily, lucky bamboo, majesty palms, snake plants, and random succulents. Of course now that it is winter we have poinsettia, norfolk pine, and holiday cacti.

    I don't have an Alocasia but all the rest you mentioned are definitely favorites of mine too! Especially the Pothos....I have several Pothos: N Joy, Pearls and Jade, Marble, Manjula, Golden, Snow Queen, Exotica, Silvery Anne......I LOVE them all!! I think all Hoyas are beautiful but after you go thru the Carnosas, Obovata, Kerrii, Pubicalyx, Wyettii (sp?), Krinkle 8 and the bean and grass looking ones they do start to look the same. I watched a video of a growing facility in Indonesia and the grower couldn't even tell them apart without reading labels! I hear all the blooms are magnificient and unique but none of my Hoyas have bloomed yet. Anyway, have a great week, Christian! And thank you for the informative and entertaining videos!

      That's really sweet!! I love my golden pothos, which I'm proud of because she's 100% from 15 leaf w/node cuttings! My boss had a lanky and mealy bug infested pothos in her office, so I took it home,, trimmed it down and changed out the soil after hosing all the mealy bugs off with soapy water. I took the cuttings and it took 8 to 12 weeks to root and 2 years later, she is super healthy and happy!! My boss got her rehab plant back, but I kept her sister plant from the cuttings with me. 😂

    My oldest plant is a dieffenbachia! It is the mom to dozens of my friend's plants. But, alas, I now throw away her cuttings. There are only so many people that want the cuttings! She was given to me by my boss when I was in my 20s in the 1970s. I no longer repot her - but she seems happy - although I keep her small now, since she used to be about 5' tall. Great video!

I've planted in a well draining soil into a terracotta pot both pots are 6inch and they are doing extremely well. Soils the espoma organics soil mixed with a little bit of miracle grow soil both potting mixes. But I do use the espoma indoor plant fertilizer and they both are responding very well thus far. I am in a apartment with only one window(sliding balcony door) south facing and they are about 4.5ft roughly for the honeydew and about 12ft for the other away from the sliding door.

    THE DIEFFENBACHIA!! That was my first big boy and it took me forever to find out what it is UNTIL I SAW YOUR VIDEO. It's recently started yellowing on its leaves toward the bottom and drooping, so I've been cutting those off. I also recently re-potted it and immediately watered before it started dropping leaves, so I think I just over-watered it in comparison to what it was used to in the small pot. Fingers crossed.

    I have to say...the Moonlight Pothos (is that correct name?) has become my favorite plant, and is now on my wish list 🥰

    So I’m just now stumbling on your channel and I have a dieffenbachia but I’m not sure which one I have, it’s about three feet tall and her variegation is so stunning it’s one of my favorite plants that I have. Her leaves are easily a foot to a foot and a half long and may seven or eight inches wide. I can’t wait to try and propagate some littles from her, and speaking of do you have any information on propagating dieffenbachias? Could you make a video on that if you do? I’d be ever so grateful!

    Due to a 5 yr depression I lost all of my house plants. Am currently, bringing in new plants, a few at a time. They have greatly aided in my recovery.
    I just found you today. Thank you for such an informative and entertaining presentation👍😊
    I have an Alocasia, not sure of species but the leaves are dark and velvety. I also find the begonias to be easy houseplants.
    Would you mind telling me the name of the long trailing plant off your left shoulder? It looks a little like a dichondra. Thanks😊

    I have the Camille and I'm going through a similar situation, I think im killing it but its always putting out newer smaller leaves. I also have the camouflage (which I think your insert was) and a snow. I just love their beautiful foliage.

    Do you play saxophone? Or the instrument behind you? I just read a goof but true article that plants respond well to jazz and classical. I'm going to need one of these videos you playing, ITS FOR THE PLANTS!

    *My favourite plant of all is the Thaï constellation and I have 3 of them now. It’s the only one that has this rank in my heart, I hope the other plants don’t read this..*

    I have golden pothos and diaffenbachia and I put in shade place, they're very strong and impossible to killing, althought I'm forgot about watering schedule (sometimes ignorant) maybe once a week, but they still grow healthy, more huge, more lush, and looks very good.. 😂😂
