Taga-Iloilo City ho Ako at nagmigrate sa Manila noong mid-70's. Bumalik Ang nakaraan Ng maipakita ninyo Ang Villnueva Bldg, dati ho yang International Hotel at may puesto kami mismo sa bandang hagdan Ng hotel. At Ngayon, Ang Divisoria, Manila, at iilan na lamang ang heritage buildings, paghightide Minsan binabaha din. Masasabi ko, masuerte pa ang mga Ilonggos at napangangalagaan Ang natitirang heritage buildings.

Hoskyn & Co. opened the first department store in the Philippines in 1877 at the corner of Calle Real (now JM Basa Street) and Calle Santo Niño (now Guanco Street) in downtown Iloilo City.
It was started by Henry Hoskyn, a former employee of the firm Smith, Bell and Company based in Manila and nephew of Nicholas Loney, British vice consul in Iloilo.
Dubbed “the store that sells everything from needle to anchor,” Hoskyn's Department Store was the first to introduce the “fixed price” policy in merchandising in the country, offering groceries, hardware, stationery, toys, watches, jewelry, machinery, buttons, and threads, among others.

Eusebio Villanueva Building ay dati pong Washington International Hotel noong 1927 mga guest po dyan ay dating mga sugar traders,Bankers at businessman from America, Spain,Britanya at China.
By January nxtyer all of those spaghetti wires will be placed underground as part of the beautifacation project and development of iloilo city👍

@@RihannaCarlaMorgan pedestrianization has been implemented as experiment during Mayor mabilog's term but it doeant succeed . Renovation has been done also but yes it needed again. It has been long years since its last makeover.

Alam ko yun kasi yung anak ng mi ari is my school mate nung high school at na meet ko din ang father (Dr. Daniel Ledesma) noon. Ledesma Family po sila. One of the Old Rich family sa Iloilo city. yung mi ari ng mga Ledesma Mansions sa Iloilo city ay mga kamag anak din nila. Sir, sayang na miss nyo po ang "BUHO" bakery (one of the oldest bakery din po) dyan lang sa eskinita sa looban after ng Goldberry building. thank you po sa pag feature nyo ng Iloilo city, para na din ako umuwi.. During the 1980's my uncle stayed in this Building when he came from Manila to visit us. It's named international hotel. The stairs are made of concrete and plenty of rooms with one bed and a sink. Only a single person can have the room for rent.

Yes ! Sir ganda talaga dito sa ilo2 . The safest and clean city . Kumbaga sa mga bahay halimbawa , ang mga kagamitan nito ay nalalagay sa tamang lugar and orderly. Kaya nga ako mas prefer ko pa mamimili da calle real kaysa mga malls. Mura at makatawad ka pa.

Yung back part ng Javellana building, meron dati diyan grocery store nung maliit pa ako.. nasunog xa nung 90s, nakalimutan ko lng exact year.. tinry nila irevive pero prang hindi tinapos kaya ngayon, tinubuan nlang ng mga puno.. yung building naman na kinatatayuan mo while nag vivideo sa Javella bldg is Hoskyn's compound naman xa 1st department store in the Philippines, bumili pa c Jose Rizal ng sumbrero jan before xa na firing squad..

Yung Eagle mansion sa Corner Rizal at Ortiz street bahay po ni Don Celso Ledesma yun built in 1928 saka meron din sya old Building doon sa J.M Basa nadaanan nyo na din.
Cine Regent Ang Old name nya ay Palace Theater built in 1926.

Gaisano dept. Store was built during the 80's.i used to go there when I was studying in university of San Agustin.

Hello Fern, if u remember, bang nagpunta kayo sa mga old churches n Miag-ao, Guimbal and Tigbauan, Yung sinasabng The Lost Mansion in.Guimbal, Iloilo, merong Mystery po aywan ko lang kung may nag inform sa yo, Jan sa Iloilo wherein, " one night, may sumakay sa taxi na Isang beautiful woman, at nagsabing sa Mansion sya bababa. Ngayon pàgpara nang driver Ng kanyang taxi, bumaba na Ang girl, at nagtska itobg c driver Wala namang Mansion. Ngayon Nang paalisvna sya, Nakita na nya Ang Mansiong napakaganda raw at Ang laki. Tapos biglang nawala. Then lately, dahil may road widening, Ang balete, o " lunok " sa Ilonggo, ay sisirain na dapat o tutumbahin na nang bakjo. Ang tree ay Hindi kayang patumbahin, instead, yong bgioun Ng bakjo Ang nagkatanggal tanggal. So, Hindi na itinuloy nang gobierno. Binigyan daan Ang kahoy kung Kaya Makita pi ninyo sa may likuan, maliit Ang space, at ginawan Nang sign na Isang white lady, para mag ingat Ang motorista. Yon po ang mystery.

The market in front of University of Iloilo is The Iloilo Central Market which was built in the 1920s. The Goldberry building is a new building.
Hmm goldberry hotel is not entirely brand new. More like restored/renovated since it already had good bones
@@franklynbasa2122 maybe but the old Dona Pacita building was almost torn down that’s why some historians can’t call it a restoration nor a reconstruction but yes the old Dona Pacita building was constructed in 1933.
Goldberry Building used to be an Engineering Department part of University Of Iloilo .owned by Lopezes , thank you Fern Front visiting Iloilo , come back to feature churches and old school Central Philippine University And Colegio De San Jose my Alma Mater ❤

Squatter pa kasi un fort san pedro. Dapat yan naman next na ayusin ng city un mga coastal part ng ng city like calumpang and baybay. Sayang kasi ay dami pumapasyal kahid madumi at may squatter.
At 2:37- hindi nyo po nasilayan ang ganda ng water fountain sa harap ng Iloilo Provincial Capitol. Gumagana pa po yan and last summer of 2019 (Pre-PANDEMIC) may mga bata naliligo dyan. 😁
Originally, ng ginawa ang Arroyo Fountain in 1927, yung apat na Grecian icon muses ay nakahubad. Ngunit dahil sa makalumang pag uugali ng mga Ilonggos at that time, nag protesta ang Roman Catholic Church at ang local women's league, kaya't in 1929 napilitan ang gumawa ng fountain na damitan yung mga muses. 😊😊
