Him actually being nice or not is questionable but that moment in ff7 rebirth when he smiled after burning the village was basically him telling zack it was a fake personality

Despite being a bit standoffish, Sephiroth was a good guy. He was caring, modest, and warm to the people he cared about, which makes his fall even more tragic.

Nah not billions, with the amount of land used for settlements in the game the world population can’t be much above the hundred thousands or maybe low millions. Keep in mind this is canonically a colony world that was only settled 2000 years ago and while we don’t know the seed population it was probably only within the hundreds or thousands. And the monsters make growing the population more difficult than it would be on Earth.
Dude just didn't have the support structure to help. :( Sure, Zack tried, but... only one guy, and I'm sure dealing with Angeal felt like it messed things up between the two. Then everything with what appeared to be his closest and only friends, (aside from Zack, which only happened later) Angeal and Genesis, just kinda abandoning him and going kinda bonkers because of the degradation. Add all that with whatever Jenova could be doing with his mere presence in Nibelheim... talk about a recipe for disaster.

I feel if he met Lucretcia, his actual mother, he wouldn’t have turned. Hojo willfully dirtied his own notes, leaving out how Sephiroth was actually his and Lucretcia’s child, likely to keep Shinra out of the loop. That or to mess with Sephiroth, he was a total sociopath that just wanted to see what would happen with no care for the consequences.

that is the only reason why i won't buy or play the new ff7. i loved the original voice crew. the new one for sephiroth and cloud are ass. old sephiroth voice sends chills down your spine. this dude feels like he trying too hard.

in the old game script sephiroth had a more charismatic character then it was displayed in the final version of ff7. and had more background version beeing basically the chad of soldat. after shinra had enough of it and found the subject not that manipulative how they would like it they tried to get rid of him. have this info from a good friend of mine he is basically a FF7 wiki on two legs
This must've been such a nice change of pace for his Voice actor, like he actually got to voice him when he was "normal" and not spouting cryptic nonsense about reunion and other timeline bullcrap all the time.
