I got a juvenile monstera a few months ago and I am so excited to see its new leaf uncurled! It's the first leaf with a split in it so I'm incredibly hyped!! It's so much fun watching the plant grow up!!!

Funny I’ve gone the other way and no longer have any of my houseplants in soil, everything is in pon as my plants seem to like it. I got a baby monstera a few years back and in the past year she has started to fenestrate which made me so happy 😃. Last month I managed to get a discounted monstera albo cutting (£59) that is currently rooting in water, she looks gorgeous and is a half moon leaf, just hope she adopts me as her new plant mum.

Hi there! First off, I love your apartment tour that you did with Summer! That's how I discovered your channel! Your apt is goals!
Second, I have two monsteras that I bought this summer! One was from a popular nursery in Toronto and another is from Costco. They are both surprisingly similar in quality and look so I decided to just keep both and see how they mature as an experiment.
My question is, I've recently started researching about moss poles because I dont want my monsteras to grow unruly. Both of mine are still juvenile and 75-80% of the leaves they have are still small with little fenestrations. I'm wondering how to install a moss pole in their nursery pot and then how to tie the stems to the pole. The nursery pots both my monsteras are in don't have that much room left and both plants have A LOT of stems of varying size. They're not so unruly currently because the plants are still small and young but I've heard its better to install a moss plant sooner than later to encourage them growing big and straight as they mature. They both have at least 15 stems of varying sizes within their pots. Should I just wait til they grow more and then install the moss pole next spring when I repot them? And should I stake the pole at the side edge of the pot where the biggest stems seem to be and tie those ones to encourage aerial rooting?

I'm glad Summer's Tour brought you here!! As for your monstera, you can install a mosspole for your monstera now, it doesn't hurt. I would just attach the biggest stem for the best support. You can always rearrange the plant in the pot to fit the mosspole. Hope that helps!

Hi your monsteras look great! I just got a 4 leaf baby monstera grown from a cutting (2 leaves have split). It comes in a 12 inch pot with very porous soil. I was wondering if you've got any tips for me? This is my first monstera and I'm kinda nervous! I have it outdoors in the shade facing East. I'm planning to keep it in its original pot for a bit and repot it and give it a bigger moss pole when it's bushier. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks so much

Well said. Great presentation. I'm researching to determine if I have a Monstera Delicioso. I ordered and received a Tetrasperma Mini Monstera and was gifted a surprise monstera in June 2022. Did they give me an additional mini of a Monstera Delicioso? Both were repotted 4/22/24. I am rooting the Tetrasperma Monstera mini 'Ginny' at two nodes via stem wrapped spagnum moss and may do likewise with the other unknown species specimen.

Right now my cuttings has no root i put them into cutting pot mix ...is that ok ?
This was really helpful! I have two baby Monstera Deliciosa plants. One is six months older than the other and I’ve already repotted it. For some reason, and I don’t remember why I did this, I put little white rocks on top of it as a dressing, like with succulents. I think I may have over watered it though because I hadn’t realized how long it stayed moist with the rocks on the top and some of the leaves began turning yellow and it hasn’t had any new growth. I took the rocks off and have left it alone to dry out, but I’m wondering if I should repot it? What do you think?

Oh that’s just like my situation!! I would check the roots just to see if it’s rotting. Because mine didn’t show any signs of yellowing leaves. I wouldn’t have discovered the root rot if I didn’t check. Hope your Monstera is doing okay 🤞🤞🤞

I purchased mine for £2.British Pounds. It had three first leaves and now it has about six altogether three are bigger and have fenestratuons.i have cut off the smallest leaf. I have had it about a year but it seems to have slowed down it's growth. It gets plenty of light but I'm not sure I'm giving it enough water. I'm going to learn from your Vidio thankyoy

When it starts flopping over is when You really need a moss pole. I like to stick it in there early to set high expectations for my plants 😆💚
Why do monsteras get those little scabs sometimes? I have the most perfect leaf, but she's got a noticeable light brown patch. She's still perfect to me, but it does make me wonder.

Hello there my friend. I have two Monstera plants and I got them for a good price at Safeway when they sell them for nine dollars. One of them is doing a little better than the other one. I’m not sure what’s going on with the one I’m concerned about but it is almost 3 feet tall with only two leaves. Earlier on in the year I took it out of its pot and gave half of the plant to my daughter. I don’t think the plant liked that. So now I’m not sure if I should just keep it how it is in the pot with a very long stem and only two leaves or if there is a way to cut it down shorter. I’m glad I found you on TH-cam you are my friend on Instagram 🥰😘
Hi Carla! Whenever you move/ cut a plant it usually takes time or them to adjust. It probably did not like being split into two! it actually took my monstera a year to produce a new leaf after I moved. But after that it was able to "get back on the groove". Cutting it can go both ways- spark new growth or it might need more time to adjust. There's no wrong answer though!! I'll support either of your decisions

What I find Amusing is I didn't do all the things every plant video person puts Out and My Plant is 61/2 feet tall and 4 to 5 feet I width. I didn't do all the fancy soil and special pots BS.
