Wow major change! I think you should ask Lilly what she wants in her room to make it special for her. Maybe a small balcony overlooking her horse paddock? She needs hope in her heart. She's your best worker, always coming up with things on her own, keeps busy almost all day, going from domestic to outdoor chores seamlessly with no complaints.

Only recognised and complimented for baking and domestic work. Boys have so many extra toys to work with and learn. Such a hard worker and especially kicked in when Jonah was injured with little acknowledgment.
Lilly needs more credit. She busts her britches working on EVERYTHING, while her brothers get bored and go play. Just because she’s a girl doesn’t make her any less of a hard worker.
I think Lily has already ideas for her bedroom and has chosen her tiles for her bathroom x

Gideon is really showing how much he's growing up. He's stepping into big boyhood, being more able to do what the big boys do, which has to feel good to him. I'm really proud of him, he is starting to find his groove all over the place and I expect to continue to see great things from Mr. Brown 😊😊

Justin I'd keep the kids away from the popcorn ceiling due to asbestoses risk. If it positive you would need a full respirator with a removal suit.
I love that the kids are so involved in everything. They are learning life skills.
But they also need to enjoy their childhood .
@@deem.2995 I am sorry, I see them enjoying their childhood. Each child is doing, and getting acknowledgement, for their contributions to Justin and Rebecka's dreams. And they are also learning. Demo is a life skill. Building is a life skill. Learning by doing is how some kids need to learn. Not everyone can read a how to and figure it out.

@@keithprinn720 No clue. I am not their parents. It is The Rhodes family. But be aware that they are a family, and it a privilege to be able to watch their videos. They do not need youtube. They created Abundance+. Those kids are truly healthy, and they are also intelligent.
You only see a fraction of there day in one half hour videos, you don’t see them doing all there school work, but it’s all done, you see then work the chores which are first thing in the morning, and there’s 12 hours per day they cover a lot more things as well.
I wish there were more Randolph’s in the world. 🙏🏻

The common construction method here is reinforced concrete houses, so I don't have much knowledge about wooden houses . But I'm curious why the wood isn't recycled in so many of the renovation videos I watch. I feel that it is good enough wood to set aside for a future project or is there a reason to get rid of it ?

It's so sad to see all of Randolph's work being broken to pieces! He did such a great job on the kitchen and bathroom.
Seeing those new tiles smashed to bits is painful. That bathroom floor was gorgeous and salvageable.

About your back. My right hip went out yesterday. A trip to the chiropractor and roll on Biofreeze and I'm better today.

Congrats to your family! It’s a long hard process & there are ALwAYs surprises once walls open up (lived in 7 home renovations over 20 years) BUT the end is so satisfying!
Father God, please send Jonah encouragement during this challenging season. Carry him through and teach him to look for the peace in his down time. Please send him lots of little wildlife surprises to bring him delight. Amen

Asbestos is no joke
Older sheet rock up until the 80s contains asbestos. My husband died of cancer from asbestos after a life spent in the building industry. It was an ugly death. The masks being worn aren’t sufficient for this-

The kitchen wasn’t “put in”. They made some changes such as the ceiling and a lot of cosmetic. They have a right to have their house any way they please. If you don’t live in it, it doesn’t matter what you think about it.

Yes, my prayers are with his complete recovery as well.
I pray that Jonah’s hip is healed completely soon, as I understand all to well how it can impact your life with a shortened leg. Mine was caused by a stroke at birth. As I grew it caused hyper kinetic responses and tightness in my left limbs. My left leg was 3 inches shorter by age 5 and required corrective surgery and an elevated boot was worn for many years after. My spine and pelvis are twisted which have caused ongoing back discomfort at the least with some severe back muscle spasms. At age 66 my left leg is now 1/2 inch difference in length to right leg. I truly hope and pray his rehab team can bring him to full recovery as he is missing out on so much at this time.

Thanks for getting some "before" shots! Exciting demolition! Wow, kitchen and bathroom gone! I like the new table at the cabin! Don't you just love balloon construction!? No load bearing except outside! You can hear the rain on the tin roof more! You'll have to set up an area to serve Randolph coffee! I liked his closing comment! Wow, it looks so different with it all torn out! It looks like a "barn!" I bet the kids can't believe it! I think Boots could understand the need for a remodel. It sure makes more sense than building a whole new homestead on your property! I'm so excited for you to build it back they way you need it to be! Thanks for this video Rhodes family!

I like the headgear you use when you work with when cutting down the trees. You can see so well while your fully protected. you can even wear the mask under the face shield for full protection!! Isn't this exciting!!? Now you will refine living in the cabin to fit your comfort zone for the next few months.

End stages of a remodel...and I am SO ready to be alone in my house again. Trying to get time set aside to do anything other than be here observing or helping out is nearly impossible. Bless the fact that you have another house on the property that you can use because living in the middle of it is a challenge.

Not to call you out but anyone else notice the shift in Gideon after Justin essentially called him useless to the camera right behind his back ? come on Justin we all know you are a better dad than that. you want him to willingly help and care you have to Praise him for doing.. even if its not exactly how you would do it. but essentially slagging him off to a camera he knows gets millions of views is Cruel... you want him to learn show him don't expect him to just know how to swing a hammer to smash a wall down.. you can see his anger in his body language in the bathroom hitting the tiles.

I remember going to town 10 or more times in a day having 3 boys & all of their activities. I knew it was best to live close to town, but always wanted farm life. The kids are grown and gone and now we got our homestead.
I don't understand how one can complain over living conditions when they have a place to stay on their own property for free considering there so many families that don't even have a home from all of the devastation all over our country. I truly am happy for you and wish you the best. I am happy and grateful that I am able to help a family in need after they lost everything from a tornado. Service to others is what we all should strive for. Just saying
Well you cannot say that about this family, they are very caring to all there friends, and help out in time of need, but I think they have enough to cope with Jonah and getting him back to full strength, and helping her Mom, and Justin’s not that robust to be running a farm with all the animals.

I would love to build my house. We bought logs, permits, etc are expensive, so much red tape...
I just want a home to call my own, and to live, as much as possible, off the land.
Oh well, we're warm, clothed and fed, and those are the main things.
Just for feedbacks sake and not complaining, I have a hard time with loud music/sounds, etc. I laughed out loud at the Koolaid guy.😂
You mentioned you can’t wear glasses and masks at the same time but a little trick that a nurse told me was to twist the part that goes over your ear instead of just putting it on normal and it keeps your glasses from fogging up. It actually works!

Just spent 5 minutes trying to figure out what you meant. Twist what and where? 😩. I’d love to wear a mask when shifting fungi riddled wood chips (to prevent farmer’s lung) but it’s a nightmare falling flat on my fogged up glasses 😂
@@amandar7719 twist the string before putting it over your ear. It does work.
Most masks have a metal strip you can pinch over your nose. What we do in the operating room is put a piece of paper tape over the bridge of your nose too. So the tape isn’t too sticky pick up some lint off your clothes a few times. To save your eyesight it’s totally worth the effort to wear the glasses. I would insist anyone doing demo in my home wear glasses, the appropriate mask, and gloves. In your case Justin you might need a helmet too!! What happened to your head? Oww.

What hardworking children you have. Praying God puts the right people in your path to help Jonah recover well. He has to be your first priority, search out the best professionals to fix his injury. Rebekah I keep all the spices I do not use often in the freezer, that way no throwing away or stale tasting spices. Wow what a huge space to remodel, have fun.
I composed a whole paragraph suggesting ways to use a wheelbarrow ramp as you fill up a dumpster. Ha! 😀 You did it at approx. 6 minutes in! That's a heck of a demo! Huge space! Nice! All the best to you all!
