This was described as a "complete walkaround" and "complete rundown" of the nav system but, it left out describing many of the features ... For example, the button on the main screen between the zoom out and Destination buttons. Would have appreciated a video that is, well, complete.
I bought the vehicle since new at 2016. I was not aware it had scout link system until now I been using my phone all this time. It was pain in rear. I’m going to set it up soon as I can. I wish my dealership sale associates told me.
When you select the "Apps" button (It's to the left of the screen) Select "Setup" then "general" and as you scroll through the options there will be somewhere to adjust clock settings. Hope this helps, all the best Reave
How do you turn off the list of exits that keep popping up on the right-hand side of the screen during navigation? (I'm in full screen map mode, but it keeps popping back up anyway and it's driving me nuts)
How do you set the GPS to NOT make the roads disappear when you zoom in? Out on some back roads trying to use the GPS and it's next to useless unless you are driving on a major highway or street. Zoom way out, it shows the road, but doesn't show ANYTHING AT ALL when you zoom in. Just an icon in a blank screen. Try getting it to just go to a street without actually knowing the ACTUAL address you are going to... I just want to find XYZ Street, not 123 XYZ Street. Can I use ANY other GPS map data by switching out the SD card for something else? OSM map data would be AWESOME! Trying to use the GPS just to scan around my current location is EXTREMELY annoying.
Have the same problem. Just noticed that when I checked map info, the detail map area is not where I live. I assume l only have the outline map for my area. I'll have to buy a new map card to get the detail map for my area.

When you originally select "dest" at the bottom, the next screen will ask you for "street address" "house number" "enter city" Select "enter city" to help it narrow the search is my suggestion

yes you can! When you select "DEST" from the map screen it will bring up the menu (1:22 mark). If you touch the arrow on the far right "more", on the next page you will see "Coordinates" as a selectable option. All the best Gabe

PK certainly has a good suggestion. Another would be touch "DEST" on the screen and then at the top you'll see "Del Dest" and that will delete destination for you. Hope this helps
What horrible system, I have a 2019 and I didn't do my homework, if I knew that I had to run two apps on my phone to get GPS in my RAV4,I never would have bought it.. Worst GPS ever..
My suggestion: "Apps" button side of the screen > General > detailed navigation. In that screen there should hopefully be some option where you can have the navigation those particular areas (like interstate). Hope this is helpful Barbara, all the best
Simple fix ! It's a setting issue. When you go in "Settings" and than "general", scroll until you find "auto screen change" and just turn that off. It's annoying and I'm just like you, I don't want to changing when it feels like it. Cheers Marcia
newer versions will display it automatically. If it's something you can toggle it would be APPS > SETUP > NAVI > DETAILED NAVIGATION. It should be a option you can select from there. Hope this helps
To my knowledge the 2016 Highlander LE does not come with GPS as standard equipment. If your model does with GPS and it's not working I would advise calling your local Toyota dealership and have them take a look at it. All the best MuZiclife

When you're in the navigation screen, if you manually touch the compass (top left) you actually have 3 different viewing options 1) North facing (which is the default and the one that drives you crazy) 2) 2D direction of travel 3) 3D direction of travel Option 2 or 3 are likely best for you. Not every model Toyota between 2016-2019 had navigation as standard equipment. So in your case Monica. If your Toyota has built in navigation you should be able to access it through "APPS'. What year make model trim do you have ?
@@monicaavalos4121 Cellphone through Bluetooth audio or USB will give you sound but not visual. If navigation is important to you I would consider getting a vent mount and making use of your smartphone as an attachment for a safe driving option !

Option 1: Swapping out the current display screen for one that has navigation is going to be your most expensive option, I would not recommend. Option 2: Buy a tom tom or Garmin or Option 3: Use your cellphone through Bluetooth audio or USB to get audible directions to where you're going and possible buy a mount for your cellphone for a visual. Chris...do you know how to set the GPS up so it doesnt go to split screen...my screen splits audio and gps
You just need to touch the map screen and it will take the whole screen and cancel the audio part.

I can't get the voice to work with the Navigation.

My navigation screen goes off after a few seconds and the screen showing audio comes on. I want map screen to stay on.
Simple fix ! It's a setting issue. When you go in "Settings" and than "general", scroll until you find "auto screen change" and just turn that off. It's annoying and I'm just like you, I don't want to changing when it feels like it. Cheers Marcia
