Appreciate the time taken here. However, a basic trouble-shoot video, or series of videos, would really help a lot. On a recent road trip from Spruce Grove, AB to Victoria BC in our 2017 Rav 4 Platinum, the system accepted a change of province to B.C. and we were able to navigate ( though not by the route we wanted) to Tsawwassen Ferry terminal. We left it at that because the drive from Swartz Bay was only 20 minutes and we knew our destination from there. On the return trip we deleted the previous destination but could not enter Camrose, AB. We couldn't enter any towns by name. It kept asking for a street address, and that's as far as we got! Why? On arriving at the AB border, it would not, despite stopping to play with it for ten minutes, allow us to change back to AB province. Also the 'address' panel would not illuminate. So, really it was a frustrating business, and in no way did it enhance the drive. This was the first big road trip in our Rav 4 (bought new in 2018) and the first time we actively relied upon the nav system. We feel it's not at all user friendly.

Can you turn this feature off from coming on all the time?? My friend wants to see his radio instead of the navigation screen. His battery went bad so he changed it out and all sorts of things were out of whack. The yellow back up lines that bend were missing until we found that section in one of his booklets. I have no idea why the navigation screen can't be turned off???
If you want a GPS in your Toyota Tacoma you'd be much better off buying it from Garmin. The GPS that comes with the 2017 Toyota Tacoma is essentially the same GPS that Toyota sold in 2003. Here's an example of one glaring mistake in the trip guidance. If you are listening to the news, for instance, and the trip guidance wants to give you a turn instruction it will be at the same volume as the radio.making it difficult to understand either. You'd think that one of the geniuses at Toyota would think to mute the radio in favor of the driving instruction. No such luck.

The toyota system is atrocious. I have a success rate of less than 10% with the navigation being able to locate an address, much less take you there. Toyota in car navigation even tells me my house does not exist. The house was built in the 1950’s so it should be able to at least know the street. It is an abomination.

Our gps seems to NOT be using Interstate routing. How do we get that???? Especially on long trips we definitely want to use the interstate.

Go into settings, then general and then scroll down to auto home screen and turn the check mark off. hope this helps.

If you go into the navigation settings through the navigation screen there is an option for you to delete the old address

I found the video helpful but there was in indication about how to save an address or destination.
You can have 6 preset destinations, if you just tap the Go Home Button or the 1-6 Buttons it will ask you if you want to save them as a preset.
