Thanks Scotty for honest reviews. I want something that I can set and forget, and I was hoping tahoma was better at getting the charcoal to feed better. All reviews I see say charcoal gets hung up. That's unfortunate. Was really hoping this system was going to feed better. Thanks Scotty
ya me too . thats the only bad part.. but the heat and smoke coming straight up into the cooking chamber gives it an offset flavor. this is a pit masters pit for sure.
Thanks for this video. I too have fan start up anxiety, but will get past it. My charcoal estimate on my first rib cook was damn close. As I will use the Tahoma mainly for slow cooks, it won't take long to get a feel for cubes required for x # of hours at 250 degrees. Be well Scotty. JT
Ive heard if you put a slim piece of wood under the wheels on the hopper side it helps with the charcoal not feeding issues. I haven’t tried it yet. Just got mine replacing a mb 560. Doing burn in this weekend
Scotty, you think there is a hack or some way to modify the hopper to allow the charcoal to not get hung up? Trying to think of a heat resistant slick surface..... 🤔
Nope. Buy it makes up for great offset flavor. Which the Mb don't deliver. It's not a deal beaker for me . I just add what I need to cook. Save 3 bucks in coal not a loss

Yes, that helps. The great offset taste you get makes up for that. I love this pit.
Awesome video Scotty! Definitely like the Tahoma. Cheers brother 🍻
Ya me too. It's a great offset flavor
Interesting cooker, I often need help with step 4 myself. 😎
Haha. Yep me too. I love this pit.

i be working on that this weekend i let you know.
There’s no way to snuff out the fire? I’m torn between this and the MB 900 from Costco.

Thanks Scotty. The Tahoma looks awesome otherwise. I’ll have to buy one and jerryrig vent cover/fire snuffer.
@@Stumpywan2 I found by putting a shower cap on the fan it will snuff it out. But that's down to low hard for to do that all the time.
Nice explanation on the ins and outs of the Tahoma!! 👍😎👍. Thanks !!
@@rbrown2895 thanks. this pit sure turns out some great smoke flavor.
😂
