    Smoked many years on my Oklahoma Joe. At 73 years old , now only smoking brisket for my self, no more for friends or family ( too many wanting my smoke brisket. ) Smoke with pecan wood off my trees.🙂❤🇺🇸❤

      Pecan is one of my favorites to smoke with. Happy Thanksgiving!

    Thank you. This was such a helpful video I assembled by myself with my teenage daughter. It was easier than I thought.

    The paint will eventually come off on the bottom side as mine did after a few years or if you run it at extreme temperatures but it’s the best smoker/grill I have ever owned. Here’s a tip, get a 3” 90* rotating adjustable vent elbow and insert it into the draft pipe from inside and rotate it down just above the height of your grill for more even cooking temperature across the main grill.

    Great video sir. I am getting one for Father's Day and you gave me some great assembly pointers. Happy Father's Day to you also.

    Had my Highland about a year. Took a while to learn how to cook on an offset but now we love it!

    I've been looking to buy another offset smoker and OLJ looks very good to me. It seems that the burn box slopes on the Longhorn model, what's up with that. Is that burn box also loose?? I'm afraid the burn box might fall off in time! Good luck with yours!

    Thank you for this video! I was looking at an Oklahoma Joe Highland at the hardware store and looks pretty well made and very solid. The advertisement says that it's for charcoal smoking and the longhorn says charcoal and wood smoking. I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be using wood and charcoal in this? Any thoughts?

    • @TwoKeysStudio
      @TwoKeysStudio ปีที่แล้ว

      That is exactly what I am doing. I start with charcoal and then fill with wood.

    I just set up my Oklahoma Joe's Longhorn Reverse Flow Offset last night. I need to season and do the first burn on it. How's the paint been holding up on your smoker so far?

    • @TwoKeysStudio
      @TwoKeysStudio ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Perfect, with no issues. My seasoning method used in the video must have worked well.

    on the bottom there's a small hole between the 2 legs, is that suppose to be there as a hole?

      Yes, that's where the grease drains. There's a notch on it to hang a grease bucket.

    • @TwoKeysStudio
      @TwoKeysStudio 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is where the grease drains from, exactly what Kevin said.

    I pealed some paint. I’m afraid I let it get too hot!

    • @TwoKeysStudio
      @TwoKeysStudio 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry to hear that. Maybe sand it and repaint with grill paint to minimize the damage? Seasoning may actually help prevent rust as well.
