He is the greatest player to ever hail from Brazil’s southern state of Rio Grande do Sul. He is arguably the most talented dribbler to emerge from the land where so many seem to be born with a ball at their feet.
But for Ronaldinho Gaúcho - Champions League winner, World Cup winner, two-time FIFA World Player of the Year - an attempt to evade Paraguayan justice appears to have proven extremely costly. The former Barcelona and Brazil idol was arrested on Friday, 6 March, for entering the South American nation on a doctored Paraguayan passport, alongside his brother and agent, Roberto de Assis.

Not everyone falls into those drugs even though better drugs are available to each generation. Case in point Messi and Ronaldo have not fallen into that trap yet both came from impoverished backgrounds. Ronaldinho and Adriano squandered their immense talent. They became entitled because they did not evolve as players or people.

@@vb2388 fair enough, but I suppose you're talking about the 03/04 season where Arsenal were unbeaten. Wenger always played 4-4-2 and during games, Bergkamp would play behind Henry as a second striker and leave Henry the free man, so it would turn into a 4-2-3-1, I guess the width in the pitch made it look like a 5 man midfield. I could say yes he was a striker but not a pure one, he played as a winger for a majority for his career, at when he arrived at Arsenal, played for Juve and Barcelona.

Did Ronaldinho ever have that type of ambition? His talent was undeniable, but eventually he was let go along with Deco. This is why I respect Christiano ronaldo. Man has changed whole football mentality, players like Ronaldinho , Maradona were totally into partying . And there comes a man who works hard like a teenager even at 34 , even after breaking all the records.

for me and millions of others around the world, the memories of ronaldinho's skill and joy on the pitch will *never* be eclipsed by his post-playing legal troubles...though it sounds like he will definitely be having some more, possibly more-serious, legal problems to contend with, but that's on him, today.

Ronaldinho will never ruin his footballer legacy for me. Watching him during those years with Barcelona as a kid from 2003 to 2007 was just extraordinary in so many ways. He made me enjoy football because he played with style and grace while having fun with his moments of magic and smiling in the process.
It's sad that this is the first video that Tifo makes about Ronaldinho on his channel. What is the video about? His talents, his ability as a footballer, his magician skills that captivated the world? Nope, let's talk about him not following the law and being in jail. Wow.

This goes to show just how important "counsel" is to a player's career regarding his decision making abilities... most people in the "entourage" are enablers, yes men... sycophants... it's very rare to see individuals that are part of the entourage, genuinely and sincerely hope and make their best efforts to facilitate an oversight capacity to that players best interest... however, I've noticed that family members fulfill that role much better than a friend or a manager can, but they can only offer so much in expertise which could be hazardous in this era. Finding a balance between incorporating family within your inner circle coupled with talented agents from the industry, that player should navigate the tricky waters of fame.
This argument doesn't apply to party animals... (Sorry Gaùcho, but you're included in this one, you should thank Romario for pioneering that lifestyle)
