it's 2024 and people still think polygraphs are a reliable way to judge someone? Actual clownery
It's better than nothing. You have no idea how bad it is in Ukrainian football. It is so corrupt, even if you had a referee on 24-hour surveillance, something still gets through to them that makes you question the decisions they make on the field.
Lots of Jeremy Kyle fans out there.
@@oslonorway547the polygraph might make it even worse
Better than anything for the UPL. One of the most corrupt in all of Europe; Would atleast add a semblance of integrity.
@@greyumrus It's the FEAR of being polygraphed, that's the deterrent. It won't always be used, but it COULD be used if your decisions start looking suspicious.
Now, would you say we should do the same to politicians, yes or no?
Exactly.
The thing is that lie detectors are not good at lie detection, multiple studies have shown that lie detectors are no better than a flip of a coin.
Remarkably, they actually manage to be worse than random chance . A truly worthless machine
Player: it was a pen you fraud!
Ref: really? Than do something about it!
Fifteen years later:
Lie detectors are of course famous for their integrity
"polygraphs, the acupuncture of the legal system"
Hence why the legal system doesn't use them
Except acupucture (or dry needling as it’s known in the US healthcare system) does work, according to studies published by Johns Hopkins. Maybe a better analogy are essential oils.
@@randomone4832 it's a quote I thought was funny here, don't overthink it...
@jacksonmcquade7888 "It's an empty box, don't shake it too hard"
@@jacksonmcquade7888 The factual basis of your quote is wrong, which makes it not funny, just inaccurate.
Do this in Spain please… I am sick of referees there
you realise this measure would likely make refereeing worse right?
Do this world wide
I would’ve imagined there were bigger concerns in Ukraine at the moment but there ya go..
Yes, but Shevchenko doesn't exactly have any influence in them!
Even if polygraphs are trash, it would detect Spanish and English ref corruption miles away!
Ukraine sounds like a stressful place to be a ref
Interviewer to the chelsea vs barca 2009 referee: Are you paid by barca?
The referee: No
Polygraph: biggest lie ever
Do this world wide
Polygraphs are 51% accurate I believe so not much better at proving anything than a coin toss
Polygraphs are a pseudoscience and no serious person should even consider them for anything. They're so bad that the US courts who allow all manner of pseudoscience don't allow them to be used as evidence.
From doing a bit of research they are 80% accurate worst case with most saying 90%+ accuracy. Curios where 51% came from. I do agree they are not an amazing system though.
@@zachc6762 from Wikipedia
Although there is some debate in the scientific community regarding the efficacy of polygraphs[citation needed], assessments of polygraphy by scientific and government bodies generally suggest that polygraphs are inaccurate, may be defeated by countermeasures, and are an imperfect or invalid means of assessing truthfulness.[13][14][6] Despite claims that polygraph tests are between 80% and 90% accurate by advocates,[21][22] the National Research Council has found no evidence of effectiveness.[14][23] In particular, studies have indicated that the relevant-irrelevant questioning technique is not ideal, as many innocent subjects exert a heightened physiological reaction to the crime-relevant questions.[24] The American Psychological Association states "Most psychologists agree that there is little evidence that polygraph tests can accurately detect lies."[8]
@@zachc6762 They are 0% accurate. It's literally a pseudoscience.
@@zachc6762 80%-90% only ifbyou believe studies that were made by conpanies that sell polygraphs. Take it with a grain of salt.
If this is the case Real Madrid will not be heading far in the UCL
Lol
Nor will man city win anything
Cry
We got lie detection tests for referees before GTA VI
We need this at Plymouth Argyle. We've had a lot of biased referees.
Bro I love ur content related to football lot of love❤
Those factors don't necessarily mean someone is lying. They can also be caused by raised stress levels, and being interrogated can be pretty stressful anyway, hence why we don't use polygraph tests in court
If you want to stop corruption, bribery & match fixing, then you need to have one single officiating standard that ALL the referees follow, not leaving it up to each individual's interpretation. As long as you have that kind of subjectivity, you will always have refereeball & a much larger possibility of bribery & match fixing. Also, you need to have the referees publicly answer for the decisions they make & be scrutinized.
This are so gonna work. NOT!😂
Andrej!
Anthony taylor needs this for the chelsea games 😡😡🤬🤬
This is hilarious! Testing a referees integrity with a machine that has little to no integrity.
Are they even playing atm in Ukraine? I think they have other things on
If This reaches Spain 🇪🇸 we know who is cooked
Madrid and my club barca also in ucl madrid will be cooked
Real Madrid refs are sweating
Polygraphs only has 50% chance of being correct. Which is as good as a random guess. Absolute waste of money.
Its such old tech they might have tons of em stashed from old nkvd torture houses and police stations.
Cheaper than scraping it
People still use polygraph tests in 2024?
This should be in the Premier League
Bots in ytube short are way out of control
before war?
Yessir !!
That should be introduced in Premier League
How is Ukraine having football games while they’re supposedly at war…?
They're only getting invaded in the easternmost areas (the front line doesn't vary erratically, for obvious reasons). Shelling does reach Ukrainian cities, but the Russians don't want to look like they're breaking any more international laws. (It's kinda similar to how America got invaded in World War 2.)
It will take more than a lie detector to catch the corruption among EPL referees led by Anthony Taylor, Craig Pawson, Clattenburg, et al.
100% a coverup for lie detectoring and torturing pows
While they at it why don't they make the pinky promise no cheating too
Get this in the prem
They aren’t accurate ways to detect lies but suppose there is one. English refs need it most. All the bias towards United during the 2000s and all the stupid stuff happening in recent years would be reduced
Did they work in Jeremy Kyle?
no. The show was cancelled after they found out too late they didnt work.
just take a beta blocker before the test
I think Ukraine has bigger issues to worry about than that though
Yes, but none that Shevchenko has any say in!
This is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard
Ukraine 🤣🤣🤣
Better than the entirety of your bloodline.
@@NoahJudenStern😅😅😅😅
I'm not expert, but surely Ukraine should be focusing its time and resources on something much, much more important that's going on right on their doorstep.
And they are
@@Inkyminkyzizwoz It's already happening inside the country.
I thought they were at war... what's all this?
They are
Nah nah nah this is not a good idea
Thought this had to be an old April Fool’s joke
My biggest takeaway is Ukraine still has soccer during a war...
why not?
