I’ve done 3 of these bodies so far… and one was a regular cab custom and let me tell you, I love this body style the most but man next time I’ll get the ARTR truck 🤣 these bodies suck to do. Yours looks amazing considering the amount of trouble this body causes people.
It’s a ton of work . I just messed on my RC4WD 2 door Mojave body . Painted the body and bed separate and it ended the cab looked darker than the bed. So I sanded it down and I’m starting over !
It is a nice looking truck I just don't care for non American cars but Toyota is the best one. Thanks for sharing your build I like all RC s and enjoy building them. Cheers my friend. great job on the final paint job
🇬🇧🏴👍🏻👍🏻despite the unfortunate hiccup,it looks awesome 👏 brilliant red, can’t wait to see it finished, yeh I had problems with a clear coat, learning all the time ,keep up the good work my friend, were about s you in the USA 🇺🇸Dave in Cornwall UK 🇬🇧🌊🏄🏻♂️🌊stay safe and well
Ugh... I have a bitter sweet love affair with those mid to late 80's Toyota pickups. I re-built or restored 5 of them so far, one even had a fiberglass with a galvanized steel bed that remarkably was a good replica of the origina bed. I know everyone goes with the 22RE fuel injected motor.. but a 22R carburated can put out more power. That is if you set it up with 4 carburators, similar to how inline motorcycle engines are set up. The only problem is carb adjustment with altitude changes that a fuel injected 22RE does automatically via mass airflow sensor. Anyhow, I had 3 4Runners with as well from those years, and thar RC4WD body is superb. The way I build then is I use the Tamiya Bruiser chassis because although it is not a boxed frame, it does still copy the original Toyota frame very accurately. Even the wider rear section for the spare tire, can be used for that putpose, a scale spare tire mounted where a spare is supposed to be mounted. Even the front cross memeber and center cross memeber is remarkably shaped similarly, with holes as they should be, on the Tamiya Bruiser chassis. Now I say Tamiya, but its an HG 407 chassis of course, for price and separate individual chassis only purchase purposes. But I tend to lean toward the scale tire size and look, with the RC4WD wheel rim offset to narrow the Yota 2 axles, for the stock-ish look. I really should post it at Scale Builders Guild.
Beautiful job on the paint man! Love to watch your vids. I have to say I was excited to see this body but its not accurate at all. Especially around the windshield and the box of the truck.
What size tires are those and wheels did you use a body lift trying to get my forerunner to look like that with the trail finder 2 Ready to run the only reason I got the ready to run it’s because I have a four-year-old’s’s and not a lot of space
These are the Rc4wd 1.55 mud thrashers. Not sure the overall diameter. And they are in some gcmracing mini mags. The wheels have less offset than most other wheels and tuck in nicely. Didn’t do any body lift.
@@RCeveryday hey thanks for your time, I watch a bunch of your videos, right after I asked about the tires, boom! You mentioned it on another video, ha sorry! Look forward to watching more in the future. C U then!
Lesu is the brand. They make high end semi truck parts. Semi joes truck shop is a USA distributor of them. I don’t remember the length I used off hand but I tell it in the video that just went live right now.
hey brother..my 1st ever rc4wd extra cab rtr should be here next week..i keep hearing negativity on the stock electronics...im gonna test them out and its the 45T 540 motor and the outcry3 esc...i do have two 1080 esc's on hand..and four holmes hobby brushed 550 motor's..one being the 21T and 27T trailmaster sport 550...and a 12T and 8T crawlmaster sport 550 motor as well...im a trail guy..and the tf2 lwb chassis has the R3 single speed in the rtr extra cab...can you let me know the motor that will give me the more wheel speed on stock gearing using a 3s lipo battery?...thanks and i appreciate any feed back u can give me brother..im still learning this motor side stuff of the hobby....
I run the single speed trans on all my tf2’s. The 1080 with a 27 turn motor has been a good combo with tons of low end and almost too much too end. I use the torque master expert 27t. The stock electronics aren’t that bad. The outcry 3 is a hobbywing 1040, the controller is the only part that leaves much to be desired. Even the new twister servos are not bad.
@@RCeveryday wow thanks brother i really appreciate your help...i just checked i do have the twister servo in the rtr thats arriving on monday...so do you think i can just leave the servo inside there and it will be fine?? ...all my servo's are the 25kg from amazon the ds3225 or the big brother blue 35kg...but if your telling me its ok..shit ill leave it in...the 21T and 27T that i have are the Trailmaster sport 550 /22$ dollar motor...you have the 27T torque master motor i believe that one is a little more pricey...the transmitter ill change...and go with a flysky..i can program 10 rc's on there...i just ordered the bow house aluminum rear shackle mounts...like you im not dropping my motor...but do you remove the eternal spring from all the shocks??....did u do the chino mod?? my buddy said he broke leaf's that way..to just break in the rigg with run's...thanks so much brother.

That red looks amazing!
I'm a little surprised no one mentioned the soundtrack yet. I loved it

Man that thing is beautiful. Your trucks always have a nice stance and natural scale look to them
Just got one of these bodies and they are spectacular in there fit and finish, first time with a rc4wd hard body and boy they are cherry.
Great video, the paint is perfect!!!! Love the red, really sets the truck off!!
The red is very awesome Great job👍👍
That bed liner is awesomely
Awesome Video, helping me complete my 2015 D90 body paint and assembly, long tedious work but having a blast, love this part of the hobby...
The paint came out awesome.👍

Awesome!
Tremendous rig showroom quality
I haven’t decided how to go about my build but I want to match it to the trx4 chassis kit. Great vid.

Hey have you ever tried the stone texture paint for a carpet effect on the floor?

I agree, you can tell they had to reinforce the A-pillars to help support the opening doors.

What are those drive shafts called and where can a guy get them?

Are you going to use this truck to rock crawl or just to look at
This one will not get driven much, at least at first.
@@RCeveryday To pretty to bang up beautiful paint job Cheers
What's your solution for the driveshafts exactly? What lengths and which ones?
They are lesu shafts. I don’t remember the exact size now but the info is in an upcoming video
@@RCeveryday Thanks, because I've been interested in building a similar TF2 and it'd be nice to be able to order everything at once
Did you ever find out what the name of the bedliner product?
It is SEM texture coating 39853
