I had a 1st gen and brought it up to a little more than 325HP to the wheels. It had so much torque steer it was scary as hell. It handled like a dream though and would beat anything in it's class. It would be nice to see a speed3 with at least 300hp, AWD and have the comfort of their newer interior design. I've waited for a new speed3 since the 2nd gen was introduced and sadly it hasn't happened.

These cars may have similar hp and price but they are 3 different cars for different things really. I would say the mazda is the nicest and most comfortable hands down, its for cruising but its the worst in terms of raw performance. The Si is a daily sedan that has some mild sport to it but its not really a high performance vehicle like the type R or the N cars. The Elantra N was created to be a high performance sedan. Sincerely I have a Kia Forte GT Turbo with the same power from the Elantra N-Line here in the video, my Kia weight 2,762 lbs. I can say my kia run with Civic Si, with Mini Countryman, with Mustang 4 cylinders turbo, with Audi S4 2.0t, All a can say is I have good battles. The true battle I have is in the mountains and the Forte handle great with all season tires, the next change is the tires to summer for better handling, I don't know this Elantra N-Line have a summer tires option, but need summer tires and LSD is the best way to get better traction from the dig. Need to test the same race with Mazda run on regular fuel.

I got a Forte gt with the same dct, and i think the Firte launch better than the Elantra. I think we all knew that the Mazda would win the contest but it's interesting to see the differences between those cars. Maybe brake torquing would have helped the Elantra. Well the Si is manual, makes it harder from a dig but still a good car.

brake torque may or may not help the elantra hyundai's even the manual once it sense high brake pressure and accelerate input it cuts the throttle.. try the hand brake u'll get better results

Hyundai/Kia have awful traction control that cuts off all the power. That's why in the rounds when traction control was off, the N Line Elantra was doing much better and beating the Si.

"Brake torquing" the Elantra makes it way worse just like you see in this video.. I have an N line and just mashing the gas off the line doesn't produce this lazy ass start, just a little turbo lag in first gear until 3000 rpm
