I never has the chance to read this famous novel of Victor Hugo, but I love every version of it. The movie, the musical... They all have the passion that make my inside burn whenever they are mentioned. And the song still captivate my heart every single time I hear it. Love can take on many form, even the most ugly one...
I love it!!! I wish Fleur de Lys existed in the Disney movie cos then Phoebus would end up with her and Esme with Quasi. Saw an animation like this. In which Phoebus cheats on Esme with Fleur and thinks Esme is possessed. Esme has a husband (i think Jean or Jaques, i dont remember) but he loves Djali and then Clopin turns Djali to a woman (i think Djali is male), so that Esme ends up with Quasi.
In the book Djali is female, She is sopposed to be a kind of "alter ego" of Esmeralda. I always thought that Djali was female on the Disney version too... until I read that in the english version (because I saw the movie in spanish) and they used male pronouns with Djali. Sooo, its a little discusion because nobody knows If they used male pronouns because Disney did a gender bend on Djali or maybe only as a default since the gender of Djali wasnt very inportant as it is on the book. Oh! I have to tell I would love to see the adaptation that you talk about! the most near think to see Esme and Quasi together is in the book (or adaptations that ends more similar to the book like the musical) where, both died .. but their bones where find together.
YES! I've been hoping someone would make this video, and here it is! I'm not sure the parts with Aurora really work (I know she's meant to represent Fleur-de-Lys), but other than that, I love it.
Girl, good video! I think the same: the french versions of the songs are better, more powerful, you can feel what the singers feel. I also made my version of "Belle" and other songs using the french audio, is definetely the best!

J'aime bien que vous faites la comparaison avec notre dame de paris. Ce que je me demande c'est que, dans la comédie musical de Notre dame de Paris, l'homme qui chante la chanson "Temps des Cathédrales", le poète, serais-t-il le bouffon dans le filme de Disney? Je suis juste curieuse. Mais bon travail avec la vidéo :) je l'aime beaucoup.
