I will never forget when i was driving this thing on Fields of Poland towards the city-cap-point and just fired on the move at a Leopard L44 driving from the opposite spawn also into the city approx. 2000m away. Somehow the first shot was too low but due to the recoil the second shot directly hit the tank and blew it up.
Honestly I really really like using the ZSU-57-2 as an AA. The guns have immense velocity and, it may be placebo, but the shells seem to have a rather large hitbox. I'll only need a few shots to estimate the lead range on a jet or helicopter and the fourth shot usually gets them.
Soviet engineers found out a way to prevent era armour from being shot off by mashine gun fire - instead of putting it outside, put it inside the tank ))). it is also used in T 64s/T 80s where ammo protects crew from incoming shells
It was actually a tank destroyer. Then it became outdated due to increase in NATO armor, and was re-designated as an AA vehicle, as to not waste all of them.

The ZSU-57-2 actually performs better in an uptier against 8.7 than in a downtier vs 6.7. 8.7 premium tanks have weak side armor and tanks like the Leopard and Type 74 have weak frontal armor as well. In a downtier you're likely to face heavier targets such as Panther IIs and Tiger IIs, which can't be penetrated frontally, unlike the 8.7 tanks which usually have a few frontal weakspots.
by definition now-a-days. a tank destroyer, such as the US m1128 MGS. runs a 105mm Rifled Super velocity munition. designed to take out T-90s. has a range of 4000m. and the russian 2S25 Sprut-SD. uses a 125mm smoothbore. Heavy tungsten rod. bad range (2000m), good penetration within that range. the definition at this point. is a platform able to use a specialized gun or ammunition for a gun designed to combat heavily armored targets on the battlefield. I mean the M1A2 will not have much of an issue taking out a T-90's hull. and if a T-90 gets behind an M1A2 or to the side, then the T-90 wont have much of an issue. but still. the Tank Destroyer platforms are better designed to take out the Main Battle Tanks of the other's country.
Awesome video as always! Would you mind doing the Jadgtiger or perhaps one of the other popular-ish German tanks? Their reputation precedes them and it often frustrates new player to find out just how "balanced" they actually are once they're playing the game. The Hetzer, Tiger, Panther, Jagdpanther, etc... are all pretty sought after vehicles and it'd be interesting to see your opinions and play style on them. Even something unique like the Sturer Emil. The Tiger 2's are pretty solid for now, at least compared to what they used to be, but it's still heartbreaking for new players to find out they're suddenly fighting post-war tanks full of HEAT shells in their 1944 German armour. One of the reasons I stopped playing was for that very reason. I personally didn't care about fighting equal opponents, but I drew the line when I started getting up-tiered, fighting MBTs that have no business cherry picking on WW2 era vehicles.
actually even many modern vehicles may be called as a jack of all trades, for example lets get BMP2 - it has ATGM missles, it has an autocannon with a very high max vertical pitch, so it may shoot to helicopters. With addition to that, some versions may get also an AGS30 automatic grenade launcher so it really is a jack of all trades.
2:10 The AP-T actually have an identical explosive load to APHE, just like German 20mm or British 30mm API have an explosive filler. I still prefer the full APHE belt though.
From a realistic perspective, all is fair in love and war; but in this case war. It's a common criticism among gamers to shame campers and snipers, but the way I see it, it's completely justified. Camouflage and shrubbery are there for a reason, and using your brain to hide, wait, and pick off unsuspecting victims isn't unfair. It's just playing smart. So don't spit your dummy out and cry bloody 'balance' and punishment for said players. Use your brain and outthink them. Outmaneuver. Don't run into their "Killzone" and cry when you get killed, because it's in the name. And the same works for war thunder and such games. If someone is employing real life tactics or plausible ones to catch you off guard and kill you, or use heavy AA guns at extremely short range on your side when you come round the corner, that's not "unfair". That's just falling into a trap and not being smarter or more cautious than your opponent to avoid it. The developers aren't in charge of how you use those vehicle's or responsible for what you do with them. They merely develop the tools and give them to you in a semi-open world to use them how you wish.

QUICK GRAPHIC TIP - If you have a friend shoot with it's main gun your fence net structure from the back of your turret ( it's the spent ammo container) MAGIC WILL HAPPEN and spent ammunition shells will appear in your container. Much cooler than empty.
Also,this vehicle,now that helicopters exists,is better (and even being uptiered may be better for him,since you can delete more helis,and face lighter tanks)
Telling about shell weight, as reason of high damage is not true in WT. In WT, shell type, and caliber are the only factors influencing damage of the shell. Weight doesn't mean anything except, it accounts for more recoil.
I'm never a fan of AA vehicles beating tanks, especially now with the Tunguska and ADATS. But unless you lock their elevation several degrees up, there's not a lot you can do about it.
The Ta-Se is actually realy good for 1,7, its closed-ish, has 40 pen and is nimble and small. And the T35 has no armor but it fits so many people its basically a driving gulag probably took like all youre ammo to kill all the crew

The zsu-57 almost never Sparks and nukes every aircraft and seems to be able to hit no matter the lead. Also the AP shells seem to be able to penetrate more armor than they should.

SPAA at a certain point should be exorbitantly more expensive spawn points. They’re incredibly capable at any role they serve.

I find it really difficult to actually get air kills in this. Was really excited about unlocking, then disappointed in actual game play experience.
