      Petko is awesome! I like how he shows you the real-life things that happen as a pet owner. The dust when making an enclosure, sometimes a tarantula escaping, etc. It is all very educational, even when things go wrong we all get to learn from it.

    For water stains try with lemon juice/citric acid, I've read somewhere that vinegar may eat plastic and silicone
    Also, to avoid the stains in enclosures that you mist frequently you can use demineralised or distilled water, the one for the clothes iron. I use it for cleaning glass cabinets and for misting down a glass snake enclosure and works amazing.
    It should be ok for plants too as you usually go bioactive and the minetals are in the soil but I'm not an expert, I killed asparagus ferns and money trees

    I had scorpions that to my joy had babies. 17 of them. It was fun watching the mother take care of them. When the got about an inch long. I was laying in bed one nite and I heard a scratching noise. When I figured out where it was coming from I saw three of the babies hanging upside down on their mesh screen that was the cover to the aquarium they were housed in. I thought how did you get up there. You can’t climb glass. Upon further inspection I found the rest of the pack of baby scorpions stacked up in the corner creating a scorpion ladder that allowed three of them to make a break for it. So just learn from that lesson. These creatures are intelligent creative and capable of abstract thinking. If they can they will figure a way out.
    Love your videos. Thanks for your love of your hobby.

    Petko, sometimes a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and water sprayed onto the glass and left to saturate 10 or more minutes will break up the water stains...animals removed during process of course, and then scrub with a no scratch scotch pad. It has been a natural miracle worker on urine stains on my bunny litter boxes and such. Minimal elbow grease involved too. Love hearing your accent btw. Hope it will work for you. Cheap, safe and easy cleanup. Gets rid of lots of residues. Keep up the great work. I hate spiders and tarantulas...with exception of heart butt tarantula...too cute! Love your attitude and content! • @mengarooo3149
    @mengarooo3149 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    The stains are from the calcium and minerals in the water. Alternatively, you can get a razor or hobby knife and scrape the calcium stains off. Probably the best but most difficult option as it is safe for the scorpions but takes time and effort to do.
    If you use a mild solution of water and vinegar, usually its one part vinegar and one part water but maybe in your case one quarter vinegar and three quarter water. Soak a bit into a sponge or rag, wipe on the stains and then wipe off with another damp rag.
    Vinegar leaves a smell and citric acid might damage the scorpion's exoskeleton.

Maybe it gets easier with time but holy moly the OBT was fast. It seemed fine when I was taking it out of the tube then it teleported onto my hand then ran around the box I had it’s enclosure in as I tried to catch it in a cup. I have never been so stressed dealing with a living animal. The Golden Fringe was a Saint compared to the OBT. My hat it off to you Petko if it wasn’t for you I would have been nowhere near as ready as I was for the mighty teleporting OBT. Watching and doing are two VERY different things lol.

    Hey, for stains like that use a magic eraser. NOT WITH ANIMALS INSIDE. But magic eraser gets rid of those stains and then you can use a safer detergent like Dawn to remove any residue or chemicals left by the magic eraser. Another really good method is baking soda scrub! Baking soda with a little water made into a toothpaste like consistency and rubbed on with a rag removes calcium build up and water stains, safe to use with MOST pets. You can also use comet, without occupancy, and they will remove it as well. Comet is not as easy to remove from surfaces but glass can usually be cleaned of it's residue easily. Lemon and vinegar together also work fairly well and are safe for MOST pets.
    Hope this is helpful in the future.

    Late to the game... but I work with cement a good bit... a little spritz bottle around helps keeps the dust down. Great Enclosure!

    I really enjoy watching your scorpion videos and I really do wish that there’s more videos on scorpions because they are always interesting to watch! (Rest in peace Cappuccino) :(

    Great set up! I really dig the inclusion of the skull, which ties it together nicely. Do they have to worry about things like dehydration or do they get enough from the feeders?

    Vinegar is perfect. The stain is calcium I have very hard water and I keep aquariums so I often have to clean heavy calcium build up off filters and other stuff.

    you can remove the calcium stains with vinegar and use deionized water to avoid the stains, that is also more like rainwater to the animals

    I love the look of this setup. I would like to use ethically-sourced animal bones in my enclosures one day. They look so cool!

    Vinegar and a razor blade will clean off the spots from the glass, if you keep the razor blade flat against the glass it won’t scratch it but only clean it @The Dark Den

    Tip for keeping the water off the glass check out Rainex it;s a product for cars . It;s like a ceramic coating for windshields . It stops water from stickin to glass and keeps it clean. Sold in a small yellow bottle in europe

    @TheDarkDen If vinegar or citric acid and newspaper does not work try API safe and easy aquarium glass cleaner. I cleaned up old fish tanks quite well with it that were terribly stained up. They were not perfect after but a lot better, nothing else had worked. You might have to repeat a few times.

    I am sorry about cappuccino, it is never easy. They are all unique and special which makes them irreplaceable. We will miss hearing his wheel in the background. These little scorplings are so precious! How often do you feed your scorpions? Does it matter what species, or is it just the age that really determines the diet? Thanks for sharing, I love your content!

    Barkeeper's friend is a cleaner that can get rid of hard water stains. Many fish keepers suggest it for cleaning aquariums.

    To get rid of hard water stains on glass you can use vinegar, however, if you want to avoid using any "chemicals", try using a safety razor and a bit of water. Just wipe up the water after and it should be back to new.

    • @thomasnesmith5426
      @thomasnesmith5426 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The safety razor is for scraping the residue off the glass. I should have made that clear lol.

    I used diluted vinegar for glass cleaning! Like one part vinegar three parts water.
