Every aspect of this performance is pure power! Put this one up there with Haley's "Creep" and PMJ wins the cup again. Morgan's voice is so strong -- and under control up and down the octaves. So many women' voices turn into screams on those belted highs, but the quality of Morgan's tones held true. I'm fast becoming a late-blooming Postmodern Jukebox fan. Thanks for sharing your fantastic reaction.
A couple of footnotes FYI: First, this video was shot live and in one take! Second, the original by Aerosmith is written/performed in 4/4 time. Scott's arrangement here is in 6/8 time, completely changing the "feel" of the song. Nice reaction, glad you enjoyed it.
Disturbs version of sound of silence was my favorite cover. Now this is my favorite cover and I will always think about it whenever I hear dream on. I really enjoyed this Reaction
Morgan is, as others have noted, amazing. Her voice is soulful in the way she bends to the moment, and she is so expressive as she sings. During the quarantine, she did duets from home with her husband, Doug. Just the two of them, his guitar, and that unbelievable voice and delivery. Definitely worth checking out. As for PMJ, Scott Bradlee is the genius behind that. He is the piano player here. He also arranges the songs and recruits the amazing talent. Another deep-dive on your todo list.
Morgan is absolutely, I really can't even thin of an appropriate word. I saw her live recently, and she closed the show with this song. Indescribably stunning. Even having watched her videos for years, seeing her live was just beyond everything. What an amazing talent.
You feel like you are in a room with something so much bigger than you. Like you’re not really listening to it, you are experiencing it viscerally. “You WILL hold your breath here. I SHALL squeeze tears from your eyes here. THIS is when your eyes widen, and you gasp. The goosebumps APPEAR NOW……there there….relax now. You may thank me.” ❤😮
Bro, Morgan is a incredible vocalist & you should hear her live acoustic rendition of “Do right woman, do right man” by Aretha Franklin & it features Marc Broussard. Believe me you don't want to miss hearing this live soulful duet. Here is the title to this YT video, it's 🤯good!! "Do Right Woman, Do Right Man by Aretha Franklin (Morgan James & Marc Broussard cover)"🔥
This one brought the chills! I’ve heard Morgan before but not this one. Wow! Morgan appears along with Haley and another female artist whose name I can’t think of in PMJ’s All About That Bass-three STRONG female vocalists. It’s also a fun one. My ears don’t appreciate high pitched vocals, so I am always delighted when I find a female singer that I enjoy. Thanks, Cole!
The third vocalist you can't remember is Ariana Savalas, a burlesque performer and the daughter of television and big screen star Telly Savalas. She's done several covers with PMJ.
If you like Hailey and Morgan you should see their stripped down performance of the Beatles "Dear Prudence"; it's an example of the cover being better than the original. And yes, they do this insane performance in one take.
Scott Bradlee is a mench on converting popular hits into vintage styles and finding the talent to deliver it. At their best, they will almost convince you that their cover is the original. 7 nation army Sweet child o mine All about the bass All exquisite postmodern jukebox covers
You can't go wrong reacting to any PMJ cover!! i personally like some of their releases from this year. "Basket case" "I was made for loving you" along with others. Most reactors do the standards performers, Haley and Morgan but PMJ's catologue of performers is outstanding and needs to be recognized. Good commentary, you got a new sub!!
I can't help but hold my breath thru that high belt. Every time! Morgan's voice is amazing! Try Haley Reinhart Seven Nation Army with PMJ. Another awesome one!
PMJ does all their videos in one continuous take. Not only no post productions overdubbing. She just steped up to the mike and did THIS. If you like her and haley, give their vesion of "All about that Bass". They're both in that one (and you can't see the drummer).
Yes, truly one of Morgan's best covers. In addition to this recorded live in one take, note that Morgan never uses any AutoTune in any of her music. Check out her Take Me to Church cover, plus she has covered the entire Beatles White Album. She also writes and produces her own music with her husband Doug Wamble, quite a good guitarist in his own right.
There are few reactions to anything in comparison to "Creep" and "Dream On". Many, including me, would be happy to see thoughts on the other tunes that go seemingly unnoticed. For something fun, "Friends" adapted for each decade is entertaining.
Yes, live. Their cover of Africa is one of only two (or three) that use more than one camera shot, and their cover of Don't Stop Believin' is the only one that uses lipsynching -- and that's forgivable, given that it is a single camera shot taken on a run all the way through the inside (and out) of the PMJ mansion. No autotuning. No tricks. And yes, the hidden drummer was a thing for the first couple of years at least :-) (Understandable when you look at the original shooting location used for the early videos.) They eventually unlocked the drummer, so they are now visible more often than not.
She does have a beautiful voice with so much control. Have you ever heard of Ren. He just hit the top on the UK for his self produced album. But the first song you should hear is Hi Ren.
This and the PMJ Creep cover with Haley are my two favorite PMJ covers; call it #1 and #1A (you decide the order). Also maybe the two best performances I've encountered on TH-cam.
Could you react to the Norwegian singer Sissel Kyrkjebø? Her voice is one of a kind. She performed the vocals in the movie Titanic and is considered one of the world's top crossover sopranos. Try react to Sissel performing "O Helga Natt" ("O Holy Night"). It's magnificent.

Yup, you got my like and subscribe with my beloved Morgan. You did get this great performance. If you grew up listening to classic rock from the '60s through '80s as I did, please give it a try to The Warning. A hard rock power trio that is bringing that style back to life. It was hard to choose only one song to recommend to you since they have so much good stuff. Evolve th-cam.com/video/97Pxe9KTgJc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=MRLw4s7q5KH5Nu8O Please don´t be discouraged by the fact that this happened in MTV´s VMA! There is no lip-singing, autotune, or any other gimmick. An honest and straight live performance in one take. Now, let me see about that Creep reaction ...
Awe, man! I am so glad you found her. Morgan is incredible! Check out her Maroon 5 cover of Maps. So good.
Yes, most definitely. I was just going to say that. I think this song, as great as it is, pales to that song.
I consider this performance the _magnum opus_ for both Bradley and Morgan. Yes, this was recorded live in a single take.
Saw her perform live in May and told her afterward "I think I just saw Steven Tyler waving a white flag."
I'm so happy you found Morgan James, you can plug her in and she can power an entire city with her powerful vocals
I've seen Morgan live twice,, she is a tiny girl. What blows my mind is where she is all that breathe breathe and breath control from

Well, Haley and Morgan are featured in "All about the Bass". I love Morgan James with PMJ perform "Maps" and also "Take me to Church"

They made “Dream On” super sexy. Their musicianship and her vocals…are you kidding me.
She's the best woman's voice I ever heard, and I heard a lot of them. Check her covers of I'm Only Human, Take Me To Church and I'm Not The Only One

Any of PMJB's videos with Puddle's Pity Party, with my favorite being the cover of "Mad World" with Haley Reinhart.
