I broke most of my barrels trying to do it myself then looked it up here but barrels wont respawn and since I'm average height I probably need at least 5 barrels to even reach it maybe... I'll check again by going back to cassardis and doing the quests there then return but if they somehow still dont respawn this is a one try thing. Oh yeah, saving and loading despawns all barrels that were moved too, even the one in your hands so you cant save scum either.

How you get to two barrel heights to three barrel heights in the last seconds of the video?? I was trying this now and when I accidentally broke one barrel I restarted my last save and all the barrels are gone. Did it actially work??
Same happened to me. All my barrels disappeared. This game is bullshit. I got arrested trying to help the little girl to her feet, while she was supposedly under my care. Now I'm stuck dealing with pawns breaking barrels, and barrels flat out disappearing. Ugh. I'm so pissed off by this game right now.

My character is one meter seventy-eight tall, the pawns are dismissed, my main one is thrown into the Everfall, despite having made the character quite tall, I managed to stack the barrels one on top of the other, but once on top I don't get to reach the edge enough to activate the interaction with the object to be collected. It is evident that it is a stretch, I don't know if there is a way in the game that is the one wanted to reach the statuette, it's a bit like in Skyrim when you try to climb the tops of the mountains with a horse, if there is a method that is part of a correct method, made available by the developers, let me know if you know it, anyway, in case I renew my best regards thanks☺🙏👍

Will it be difficult to succeed, more than the level of importance to this idol to collect? I ask this question because there is an admission that is titled, the cult of the idol, where they tell me to find them to talk to the gunsmiths, which however I struggle to find on the map because I can't find them reported, and moreover in this quest it's called the cult of the idol, the classic red markers that indicate the mission area do not appear. DD hasn't been updated for 7 years. It could be your character height or maybe you need a different barrel setup. It's really random and touchy, you basically have to get a lucky leaning barrel and/or build a weird structure
The forgery gives you the same bonus as the real one. You have to lose the real one to unlock either Caxton & Madeleine’s best inventory upgrades in Stage 4, meaning that keeping the forgery lets you buy the stronger stuff with the highest discount

Just confirming this does work with the Steam version (only one I have) as of 2/20/2024. It takes advantage of a glitch with the game’s physics so it is very finicky to do. My character is max height. dinput8.dll hooks mod allows total character change anytime. A double-stacked barrel is not high enough. You need to get one near the wall that is about half a barrel higher (so like 2.5 high total). Watch the vid to understand what that means. It took me A LOT of moving and placing barrels to get the game to glitch and allow it. The key is putting a barrel on the floor close enough to the table so you can jump on it while holding another barrel. But also as close to the wall as possible. That’s the trickiest bit. Then getting into position close to the wall without falling off that barrel and placing another is the frustrating part. I was using a keyboard. Maybe an analog gamepad would allow finer movements. Is it worth it? Not for the merchant discount. Is it doable? Yes. Notes: - You can pick-up the maid and put her downstairs and she’ll stay. - The little girl sits in the chair all night and will make placing barrels harder, so you have a limited window of opportunity. - If you save and reload then the barrels you carried from all over the city will be gone. - If a barrel breaks, it’s gone for good. Reload a save from before you moved them. dinput8.dll hooks makes several copies of the save game file so you can reload from an earlier version if needed. - Pawns WILL break the barrels! You can throw your pawn off a cliff (or in the Everfall). You can get your pawn back anytime by interacting with a rift stone.
I got it done without any glitches today, max height character. Put 3 barrels down between the table and the wall. The key is the top barrel has to be away from the wall. Mine was basically straddled between the middle barrel and the one next to the wall. Hop on the second story and inch your way to the edge and you can grab it. No idea why it doesnt register when you are close to the wall. I was on K+m.
So there's no legit way to get this idol. U know forgery the original 1 quite expensive. So developers thought u can get cheaper but u need to do some barrel jumping first
I would also say for anyone who continues New Game Plus multiple times, the arisen would already be loaded with money to a point where it should not matter if the arisen spends money making forgery. Spending money on forgery is like nothing once in New Game Plus. Doing all sidequests also counts as making money anyways.
I have an average height girl character and it was possible. You just need the stack near the idol to be barrel-box-barrel. In total you need 4 barrels and one box. You put three barrels leading from the table to the wall and put the box on, the final barrel can be put on top of the box by jumping from the barrel bridge you made. Getting the box from the table can be annoying though, you need to luck out with it being on its side or else jump and place it on top of another box to make it reachable from on top of the table.

For that one, the initial ice spell (iirc frigor) makes a pillar of ice you can climb on top of. I dunno if there’s other requirements for that method, though if it works that’ll be way easier.

You have to turn your Gold Idol in if you want the stores completely opened. That loses your 30% discount right before fighting the dragon, and forging the idol costs 187.5K gold. If you want to retain your discount into postgame where you'll probably want to buy things, this is the most cost-effective solution. Grinding the spent gold takes longer than this until you can beat Urdy
Called the black cat. Just make a copy of it. Give the male the sliver and the girl the gold. Done. You keep the original and move along. Also to 'grind' the gold....not really that big of a deal if ya find/save items of high sale value then use the x4 augment trick for a 75% increase.

Basically selling the monocle. EDIT FOR SPELLING: **Then** you have to forge and pickup the idol. That's another 2 minutes of running. All that together's still slower than this. This was a 8 minute process in real time and I took breaks. Even if players wanted to do all these things, it'd benefit them more if they already had the Stage 2 forgery, as they could spend the same money on a Stage 7 armor piece or Periapts / Blast Arrows to start farming Urdy for millions. That's why grabbing the freebie is both the fastest and most effective thing to do. Unless you and your Pawn are both Sorcerers and you find 2 Suasion Pawns very quickly, you're going to be slower than this and you're going to lose 187.5K doing it

I agree since forgery don't mean anything in the first place. If it is New Game, I would just give any available Idols to Caxton and Madeline. For example, I can give Silver or Bronze to Caxton and Gold to Madeline. Then in New Game Plus, I would continue to give away Silver or Bronze. The longer the game play, more real idol will come. I am already in the process of getting 12 gold idols. Besides, once Caxton or Madeline gets a gold idol once, then there is no need to give another gold idol. So as long as there is New Game Plus, there is no need for forgery.

It's pure trial & error to get the upper barrel to not lock perfectly or break, but be a little uneven

Place the top barrel a little bit away from the wall if your to close you can't grab it. I just did it by bring the barrel back on accident
