quick correction: An "I/O box" does not take the strain off your GPU. It's not an external gpu (eGPU). The recommended product , BM UltraStudio Monitor, simply provides a video output that has not been tampered with by the OS, and is therefore more reliable to color with. This is generally only needed for a Flanders or other professional grade color monitor. Good product suggestion, but it won't save processing by your gpu for NR or other intensive tasks.

I have the smallest Stream Deck and this thing is awesome. Excellent software and it works flawlessly all the time. I use it mainly for Pro Tools and Photoshop.

Hello I'm new to color grading and I need help. I'm going to buy a 2560x1440 benQ or LG monitor and connect it to an M1 2020 Mac. if I get the UltraStudio monitor does it handle 2k videos through HDMI. because I read it only outputs 1080p through HDMI in the product specs. also do I turn off the display Mac color profile when I connect it? I'm confused how do I just get a clean calibrated image with a calibrated monitor for an affordable price? Also do I have to use clean feed, can I send the entire feed from my Mac to my calibrated monitor????? Anyone helppppp.

Just a question: I own a Tangent Ripple and honestly is like operating on a toy: balls can't control precisely/finely the color wheels. I personally feel I'm much more precise with a trackpad and a finger! Since I bought the Ripple I never really used it for any project of mine. BUT now I'm switching to Linux and I'm forced to abandon the Ripple and choose if continue with the trackpad OR buy a Blackmagic Micro Panel. The ONLY reason I'd for for the Micro is that someone said to me that Micro's balls are WAY much more fluent/precise than Ripples'. Can you kindly confirm it? Do you think Micro's balls are WAY better than Ripple? Thanks in advance.

Rec 709 is a colour space commonly used for example in youtube video. It an older standard still used but its starting to become dated. There are other more wider color spaces such as rec 2020 which is whats commonly used for hdr. If you search for colour spaces on google im sure youll get a more detailed answer.

Do you have any opinion on the Asus Proart monitors? The PA278QV seems to have stellar color accuracy for just 300 (100% srgb with a delta e below 2). Seems like a pretty decent buy as long as 1440p is acceptable (I am working with 1080p timelines currently)

I read they support 10bit only in games(direct x) and not in editing softwares (cuda, open gl) . Is there any work around for that ? I'd love to learn a bit more about these technical aspects... This of course assumes you don't have any conflicts of interest, but I doubt the people selling $35k setups are marketing to us plebes on TH-cam. Appreciate the great content.
