Sick video, I was in a rut about what to do for a set on the weekend and borrowed a 0 Coast and this was the first video I watched and immediately nailed using it!
This feels less like a TH-cam video and more like im just over at me mate’s gaff and he’s telling me about his 0coast. And I mean that in the best way possible. Great primer, weirdly very few good tutorials for this machine kicking about.

I have a M32 and a DFAM and was looking to compliment them with this lil guy but the architecture was a bit daunting and difficult to understand (there's a lot to learn, I'm still learning about the ones I have even), but you explained the 0-Coast perfectly and when I buy one I'm going to name it Michael lol. Thank you so much!!
This is such an incredibly swift and simple intro to the 0-Coast. And that patch around 11:45 is awesome! Well done. Please consider doing some tuts for individual modules/synths because it would help so many newbies get up to speed faster.
Came across the O Coast recently and it intrigued me. If I hadn't just bought a Korg Monologue I'd have jumped at this. Great explanations of CV/trigger/gates which have always mystified me. I'll be adding this to my GAS shoping list.

You've got a pretty unique way of explaining this subject in a way that is very clear and easy to retain. I haven't looked for any more of your videos yet but I'm hoping there is more of this from you. Thank you for posting this, I'm going to share it with some of my friends as you've covered so much.

This is awesome, and the most helpful thing I've watched so far. Quick question though, what are the second knobs in both the Overtone and Multiply sections?
Thank you that's great to hear, those knobs will attenuate or invert whatever voltage you send into those related inputs. So if you send in an lfo that wobbles from -5v to +5v you can attenuate that range to make it more subtle so it becomes something like -1v to +1v. Or something like that. I think of them as volume controls for voltage signals
0 Coast is excellent for lead sounds, bass sounds, plucky sounds and drones. I think it’s limited with what you can do with it on its own unless you multitrack it with a DAW. Theres a lovely project out there by Steve Blum where he wrote 30 tracks using only 0 Coast and a DAW. This is a great example of the 0 Coast. soundcloud.com/itssteveblum/sets/song-a-day-january-2017
Great video mate Ty . I am very new to this , whats the best place to kinda learn the basics in ur opinion ? and is this 0-coast suitable to have as a first synthesizer for someone who pretty much knows nothing but willing to learn ?
I think the 0 Coast is a suitable instrument to have as a first synthesizer, it has a bit of a learning curve but I cover a lot of the basics in this video, what might be tricky is that they use different circuits than most regular synths, so instead of an 'envelope' they use a 'contour' they're both essentially the same thing except that the circuits in the 0 Coast can be used in a variety of ways. Mylar Melodies has some really great videos teaching some of the concepts of this stuff and Looppop also does good ones thought it's quite hard sifting through all their videos to find the appropriate ones
