- Liquid Aeration by Simple Lawn solutions-Fall Treatment. This the 2nd application I am going to apply this year. You don't want to apply this no more than three times a year. This a really great solution to apply to your lawn to break up the soil to allow your lawn to breathe and help with water flow to prevent standing water and plant growth.
Apply humic acid as well.

Oh my gosh... Thank you. I just got my Ortho hose
sprayer and liquid aerator. I tested it yesterday, but I set 4oz setting on sprayer and added 4 oz of liquid aerator to the sprayer’s tank. It lasted 2 minutes. I was disappointed, cuz I have never used hose sprayer before, and that amount supposed to comer 1600 sq ft of my lawn. I gues next time I’ll set it to 1tbs. Also, the manufacturer did not say that I have to water my lawn after applying liquid aerator. Thank you and other TH-cam people for mentioning this in the video.
I hear you about the lasting only 2 minutes.Next time I will use a pump sprayer
I add water to mine, and it still is just as effective
Great video!!!! I tried it this year….hope I get great results!!!
Just came across your channel today, and you did answered my question about how many times to aerate..., it makes sense thank you.
Thanks i appreciate it.
You should do a follow up video to show the results
Hi Blake thanks for the comment. There is a follow up/ updated video. Its simple lawn solutions update. Check it out and let me know what you thanks. Thanks again I appreciate the support
Thank you so much, i’m going to try this, i have clay soil , i hope this helps me , Thank you so much, check back with you
Did my front yard yesterday we had a heavy rain last night so i think it’s well water in
Can you fertilize after use this product?
Yes but I always wait 30 days after
Thanks for the info
Another pro is that you won’t risk damaging underground pipes, cables or sprinkler controllers that might be hiding below the surface, my yard is a little landmine of surprises.
Awesome point
Renting an aeration machine can also introduce weeds to your lawn if it's not 100% free of them. I found this out the hard way.
Can you just fill the container up all the way and just set the dial setting ?
I believe you can, I haven't done that because I don't want to put down way more than recommend. But honestly I don't see why not.
Can you apply this right after overseeding a lawn or will this have an impact on seed germination?
If your going to overseed I would wait apply this. This could have an some impact to your seeding.
Looking at the directions on the bottle. It says to “Do NOT use when planting new seeds. Wait at least one month before or after seeding.”
@@cooksie0612 you are correct. That's what i meant to say. My apologies.
When should you put fertilizer down after soil loosener?
I would wait a couple of days after I apply the soil loosener. Are you in the south, Midwest, northern region
@@KenRobertsonPacific Northwest.
Ok, I’m trying it $34! I core aerated before but man , small yard and old man .
Lol I understand. My neighbor used to do core aeration Twice a year until this year. Now he's only doing it once a year and using this the second half time of the year. That machine is heavy!
Also when do you overseed ??
About a month after applying this according to the label. I've been recommending more like a month in a half. Just in case you put down more than recommend
@@KenRobertson I plan on adding a top dressing to level out my lawn. Should I overseed before I do this or mix the seed with the top dressing compost?
@@Kiddro22 I like mixing my seeds in. Here's why! When you mix them in with the soil or top dressing the seeds move less often. They also become less visible to birds. I almost, always go a little heave on my top dressing (not to heavy where the seeds can't get sunlight) but heavy enough to cover the seeds. Also when you water, that soil or top dressing can keep the seeds moist.
@@KenRobertson I agree. The birds had a feast on my lawn last yr. I should’ve put some hay down to block the seeds from the birds
@@Kiddro22 hay is a great way to keep the birds away.
Great information. How much water do you add to the solution? Is there a formula for that?
I mostly fill the container up with water after I add the right amount of product
I have clay soil so, its really hard. I recently had my yard tore up for a pool and deck install so, now I need to grow new lawn. I just sprayed liquid areation on the ground in order to 'soften' it up. How long should I wait before I seed?
+EnterNameHere I would wait 4 to 5 days. just make sure you continue to follow the directions in the liquid Aeration. 4 to 5 days should be ok.
Nice video, if I use organic fertilizer, what I should use to avoid weed?? thx
It depends if you want pre or post emergent. I like speed zone
Good Video, did you add just the solution into the container or did u add water and the solution.
I added solution
@@KenRobertson Thanks for the info. I just got this solution today. I will be adding tomorrow.
Cool. You can add it up to 3 time a year. Early spring, Summer and Early Fall
I also have a 2,000 sq ft backyard. But 1 oz / 1000 is so little with places in the hose in sprayer. Will it damage my lawn if I put much more?
No, just make sure to water it in good. You should be fine just don't go crazy with it
Ken Robertson awesome, thanks
Humic acid before or after the aerator solution?
In my opinion it doesn't matter. Just wait 48 hours before or after applying simply lawn aeration
Good stuff man! Just coming across ya! Keep it up! Subbing!
Thanks. I appreciate the support
very good info
Thanks
do you need to water after application or no? if so for how long? thanks!
Yes for at least 30 minutes
When should you apply pre emergent? Before or after the liquid aeration?
Yes. Now is the time to apply pre emergent if you have warm season grass. I would wait 2 weeks later to apply the liquid aeration. Also also gets your grub control down as well
@@KenRobertson I’m up north. Cool season grass
You can apply it now.
cool video
Thank you!!
Dont forget to subscribe!
Ken, did you pure 2oz straight up into the ortho hose attachment or is that 2oz mixed with water. I measured out 2 oz and it look way less than yours.
I added a little more than 2 oz. You can do that but make sure you water it in good
My back thanks you for not having to rent an aerator.
Lol
So tell me something, when can you overseed? At the time of applying, before or after liquid aeration? How has your lawn looked so far? The reason I ask is the brand ‘liquid aerator’ which is organic says you can overseed anytime unlike simple lawn solutions which says to wait for a month. Have you checked that product? Also, do you apply Humic acid before after applying liquid aeration?
You can overseed after 30 days. My lawn looks good. I did an updated video about 2 weeks ago. I would definitely wait the 30days before you overseed
Ken Robertson So are you saying with regards to simple lawn solutions liq aerator or any aerator liquid? Lots of contrasting answers out there. Please also send the link to updated video.
th-cam.com/video/KcHuYZRzjS8/w-d-xo.html
Yeah, according to the bottle it says wait 30 days
When did you put down the humic?
I normally put it down once every other month. During the summer a do a split application and use it every other week
Ken Robertson is it cool to put down fertilizer the day after you put down the liquid aeration.
@@seanwhite5269 You can! I normally wait 48 hours after applying. Just make sure you water in the aeration good. Make sure you are not using the liquid aeration at the hottest point of the day
Ken Robertson this my last question. Can i through down some humic with the fertilizer or should i wait on the humic until next month?
@@seanwhite5269 always use humic after you use fertilizer the same day. Morning is always better.. It's helps the plant aka grass. BTW humic is great for plants as well
Just picked this up if amazon seen the price of renting them Aerator
It works. Trust me!
Great Video. So I just purchased this product along with Anderson's Humic Acid. Which product should I use first if it matters? I see you recommend 30 days between applications.
+Samuel Hines You can. i would not use this product until the summer.
I’m probably gonna be using both a plugger and the liquid through the year l. But 🤣 I’ve never seen anyone aerate a level yard so much that they had to level it again. Yeah they’re heavy but it’s not like you’re doing it with a 9 ton bulldozer.
How short should I mow my lawn before spraying? Thx
You don't have to mow short. If you are in the south and you have warm season grass please don't mow short. But any ways now is the best time to put this down
How long did you wait after the humic acid to apply the aeration?
I waited 30 days.
Are you saying core aeration is not as effective as liquid aeration?
Liquid Aeration has been proven to cover more area and get to work faster and safer than core. Dont get me wrong if you only do core Aeration please do. However liquid is less stress and better for you lawn
That’s just fake news brother.
Short answer is no . There is no substitute for core aerification. Liquid "aeration" does not loosen soil. It does'nt change the soil at all. It breaks the surface tension of the water allowing it to penatrate and move down. Any mediocre wetting agent will do that. Core aerification is done to change the soil structure. Wetting agents are a good tool. Use them! But don't skip actual aerification.
Scott Buck did core aeration and wasn’t impressed. How long Before results are noticed?
@@karbs76 You have to make a part of routine turf maintenance. You don't fertilize once and then your done. Call your local golf course superintendent and ask if they use "liquid aerification" as a substitute for core aerification. Bottom line, AR8 is not aerification. Not by a long shot. It does not, NOT, loosen soil. Good tool, yes. Just stuck it up and do the hard work of cultivation for your turf grass.
There is no MSDS sheet for this product. The reason...it's just a surfactant, like shampoo. It may work for flat lawns, where the runoff is minimal. My lot is clay, equivalent to concrete and the yard slopes. I will continue with core aeration. Let us know how this works for you.
i have clay soil. Core aeration is great, i believe both is better
How do I wait to put the simple lawn solutions fertilizer..
Hi. Are asking, how long do you wait to put down fertilizer after you applied the aeration
Yes.. sorry for the confusion..
Personally I wait 24 to 48 hours. Just make sure you water good. Also, if you are in the south, don't put down any fertilizer at this point. If you have a cool season grass, than your good.
Ok..Thank you ..
I put it down every two weeks
@ 3:50 try to stay away from that soap solution
I put this on my lawn and half the grass dried up in splotchy patches all over the lawn. I think it killed most of my grass.
@skrame01 that can happen if you don't water it in. Did you water it in
@KenRobertson Yes it rained for an hour heavily just after I applied it no joke. A lot of the grass is recovering though.
@skrame01 the only i can think of, is if you applied it heavily in certain areas. Those areas may have needed more water. I have not had anyone tell me their grass died.
Thank you!!!
