Hey Ryan, really like your channel. I want to purchase the liquid aerator but I'm in Ontario, Canada. The Simple Lawn Solutions website doesn't ship up here. Do you know of any alternative?
I think it would have been helpful to see the soil probe test done before watering side A and liquid aeration performed on side B. That way we could see, even at a rough guess, what PCT increase was achieved by watering alone versus water and liquid aeration.
Wow during the first test it’s like your foot was getting stuck while trying to manually aerate the ground. All of a sudden with the product you were like the hulk!!! I gotta get me some of that. Thank you so much for convincing me to try this. I don’t have the means of renting an aerator but this is next best option. Thank u so much for all your hard work that u put towards ur channel.
I put this same bottle down a couple weeks ago as a way to try and help the yard during this Texas drought. Glad to see actual test results. My yard is also one of the greenest on our street
Ryan you did such a great job running a real-world basic test. Right to it with good and fair testing. That's the way not to be a pumper of a product but allow it to prove itself or not. Thanks for your suggestions and videos. I am in the Midwest and have similar soil conditions as yours.
Mechanical aeration is so expensive, I was quoted 265.0 dollars to do my front and back yard, so i decided to try liquid aeration. I just got my Soft Soil today, Thursday, and I cant wait to use it this weekend! It is awesome to see that I'm not the only person obsessed with green grass!
I was looking at this product on Amazon and purchased it after I watched your video. I tried it on my lawn which consists of clay soil here in Houston. We've had 2 good rains with dry times in between.. I can definitely vouch that this product works. It's turned my rock hard clay into something soft that absorbs water
We don't have mechanical aeration machines here and I am not gonna do 400m2 by hand. Thinking of doing this instead because the soil at my new house is really compacted.
I am looking for a way to loosen my soil without core aerating this year. I tilled last year 6 inches and due to horrible weathermen screwing up forecasts for about 5+ weeks, I was late putting down seed and didn't get to put down any pre-emergence herbicides last fall or this spring because my Zoysia wasn't established well enough, so i don't want to pull up weed seeds by core aerating with no pre-emergence barrier. I can't put any down now because I reseeded a few bare spots that didn't make it through the winter due to late planting. This will allow me to loosen the soil and allow the rhizomes and stolons to spread easier and fill in quicker. Thanks Ryan, this is just what I was looking for!
Finally a great test to prove we don't need mechanical aeration anymore! Of course it's only when overseeding is not required - then mechanical aeration is more helpful but this is incredibly awesome!! Thank you so much for presenting this - one of the only ones like this to demonstrate it very well!!
I hope to test the product Air8 which is a little different than this as well. This is really useful for helping water to be properly used in the soil. Thanks for watching!
Hey Ryan, you might not read comments on older videos, but thought I'd share this tip. On the yard butler core aerator, I found that if you cut the tips shorter on the tubes, still keeping the necked down part with an angled tip, it will actually clear dirt easier and "pull" cores. The necked down section is just a little too long in stock form for compacted soil or clay soil.
@@JorgeHerrera-je6dc yes it’s better to go deeper but if it gets clogged up to where it won’t pull cores then it’s basically useless. Cutting them a little shorter helped with clay soil.
Bruh, go watch his other videos. His lawn is beautiful, though I did notice he bought himself a core aerator as well so I’m guessing he probably uses both core and liquid aeration.

I'm looking at using this product on our "parkway" - the grass between sidewalk and the street. Reason being, we have soaker hoses in there per city ordinance (no pop-ups allowed). So, there is no way to use a traditional aeration technique. Hoping this does the trick. Keep up the great work! Oh, we are in North Dallas where our soil is.....uh.....yeah.......
Aubrey here. It’s basically freakin rock. I’m putting some of this down today. Had a bottle of this exact stuff and never used it! Didn’t think it would work but now it’s clear it does!
Wow, that was unexpected, it really did work. If this was a commercial I wouldn't have believed it, but I trust you 👍. Wonder how much if a difference it will actually make with lawn health.
I used this aeration product with a hose end sprayer as well. The first treatment did really well. Although I used a lot more than recommended. I just used the entire bottle on 5000 sq ft. of lawn then i watered the hell out of it for a few days. It def. made the grass greener and thicker and also encouraged growth in sparse areas.
I just built a house and it has new st Augustine. I noticed when I run my sprinklers I see a lot of water drainage and think it’s all The compacted dirt from them grading. Man I hope this helps! Great video.
Good video, I am wondering how this product works in different soil types. My soil in mostly clay and I have been looking for something that can loosen it up.
Just saw this and thought I would help support your findings. We just built a new home. Had a landscaper power rake the whole yard straw and seed. I kept watering consistantly until fall. We had very little grass come up mostly weeds. I decided to try this product instead of renting an aerator in the fall. I now have really nice grass growing in a few sections of the yard with about 80% coverage of the total yard. I was contemplating doing this again this spring with another application of seed, but I will not be renting an aerator again for my yard. Thanks for the post and the experiment.
Okay. I watched your video, purchased the liquid soil aerator and applied last night. All I can say is I wish I had taken a before and after. I am still kind of in shock at how good the lawn looks this morning. Greener in the brown areas, and the green areas are greener. After one night? Dang. Thanks for the honest video, I appreciate the vids that show the ugly which keeps me sane.
I just applied this to my lawn. I am happy to see the results you got. My soil was equally compacted and the grass would dry out and die pretty fast each summer. So I’m excited to see if it stays greener longer.

Was thinking about picking up a manual aerating tool as you used but heard they often dont extract the plugs, ie gets clogged----------not sure i saw plugs ejecting when you used it?.. i will get some of that solution via you, that result blows be away!
I just ordered this. Fingers crossed that I get the same results as you. My lawn soil turns into concrete when it dries out. I over seeded and top-dressed my lawn two weeks ago and have been keeping it watered. The lawn looks great now, but I want to make sure that the roots can go down far enough to keep it alive over the winter. I will let you know the results in a few days.
Thank you for sharing this video. I’ve seen other liquid aeration products that work as well... It’s good to know there’s an easier way to aerate the lawn.
@@Ultrazg4vz bumbs isnt. My real issue , i just have hard soil. I aerated but after a little bit went hard again. Im tryingbto figure what to do. Without brake my back in new soil
Hi Ryan, we use soil life on our soccer and field hockey field. We have mostly clay soil. We have used now for 3 years what a difference. Thanks for the videos.
Thank you for the video. I ordered the product today and am excited to try it. I have a question for anyone who might be able to answer it. In what order do you use this product, add seed, and weed and feed and how much time between each? Thanks in advance!
This is very intriguing. I wanted to core aerate this fall but the wife wasn't a fan of the $220 price tag (yard is 12,000 square feet). This would be a nice compromise, even if it (presumably) doesn't work as well as core aeration. Thanks for posting this.
My yard is terribly bumpy, the mower bounces across it. What do you think about using the liquid aeration/watering along with a few rounds of rolling the lawn? Could that be a cheat to leveling?
@@kevindowe Save yourself some effort and go to Amazon.com and look up a Chapin 362 professional hose end sprayer for about $20-$25. You can pour this product (or others) into the reservoir and it siphons it out using a venturi suction without mixing it with water in the reservoir so when you are done you can just dump the left over from the bottom back into the original bottle at full strength. I use these professionally and although not a 100% perfect solution, it is better much than those low end sprayers that you attach to the bottle. This hose end sprayer just connects to the end of any typical water hose and comes with a built in standard metal water hose garden trigger. It can shoot out a stream tip if you need range, or you can put on the black tip to convert it over to a fan spray. This fan spray applies the product a little heavier on the sides than the middle, which I noticed last year when I sprayed glyphosate on my lawn before putting down new Zoysia seed. If you're OCD, just set the dial to 1/2 the strength, then do a second application about half way over your first.
So glad to see this. I have been avoiding soil aeration simply because of the irrigation system, drains, cables etc. that in some cases I know are not deep enough. Definitely have compaction on some parts of my lawn. I am hoping this is a sufficient alternative.
I was not expecting those results especially after watching so many videos basically saying that "soap" won't do the job as good as the more expensive kinds. Very interesting results.
Last summer a tornado (thank god only a F0) hit our neighborhood and knocked down one of my large oak trees which clipped the side of my house and came to rest in my side yard. Due to the tree and all the traffic from the tree guys, roofers and siders my soil became very compacted. Now, instead of my beautiful velvety lawn- I have large areas of bare spots, moss, and weeds. Before I resort to more drastic time and labor consuming efforts- I'm going to give this a try. Just put my Amazon order in, will update in a few weeks on the results. Fingers crossed!!
Silly question, I have inherited a lawn I can’t get the hollowtine fork through. Could this help? The spiky shoes go in, but it feels like a gravel stepping through the lawn on them.
Was wondering the same thing. I found he put a link to it on an older post. It was a non adjustable 3oz per gallon unit from Amazon. His link was to a discontinued listing but if you search hose end sprayer on Amazon you’ll see a new listing for a 2pack.
His hose in sprayer came off a bottle of Simple Lawn Solutions liquid fertilizer. He reuses these sprayers on their products that do not come with them. I am not sure as far as the rate goes. I think he might have mentioned it in his video where he reviews the Ryan Norr package that Simple Lawn Solutions put. together
Your videos are logically designed and stay on-topic. Very relevant to the issues that a lot of us are facing right now. Thanks for sharing them with us.
Well you do a good job of it. I always learn something when I watch your videos. Please keep us posted on your results with liquid aeration. If it works, and if it eliminates the need for mechanical aeration, it's definitely the way to go. And are we ever going to get any rain as a follow-on to the few drops we got earlier this week? (I also live in Iowa. 0.38" for Des Moines for the month of July) If this is the new normal, I'm seriously considering planting my yard in crab grass, nut sedge, and creeping charlie. All three seem to grow without a lot of intervention, and seeds for all of them are available on line. The trick would be getting them to grow where and when you want them to grow. I got some compliments from my neighbor on my nutsedge, so the education and indoctrination begins. Come to find out, 'tiger nuts' are the edible rhizomes of nutsedge. How can you not like a plant that can grow anywhere and produces tiger nuts?
If planning to do complete yard renovation of an existing lawn is it still better to do core aeration opposed to the liquid so that the seed has a place to drop into the soil? Would doing both have any benefit? Thanks! Really enjoy your videos.
Wow, that's going in the Amazon cart immediately. Thank you for letting me borrow your plug puller thing. Interested to see what my Soil Savvy test says. Good video man.
Put a good dose of the liquid aeration out yesterday on my sloped lawn that has some areas of compaction and loves to run off excessively with rainfall. We shall see how well it works. I think my bald cypress debris that falls constantly makes the soil really sappy and waxy. That area is the worst for run off. Hoping it helps.
Great video! I just bought this. If I want to use tenacity as post-m on my existing weeds, can I use this product the day before tenacity? I originally thought of using after tenacity but I've seen some tips on not disturbing the soil once tenacity is applied. Goal is to remove tons of weeds, improve soil, spring overseed with tall fescue.
If you add too much will it harm the grass? I have some very compacted areas that are looking rough this spring. Love the Viking and Twins garb... your friend from the north.
Thanks for the work, i'll give this a shot. I have a HEAVY clay soil. I've seen people say "i have a clay soil"...then they see where we live and are like ...damn!...yah. I have a thin veneer of soil with orange thick clay underneath. Manual aeration each fall, plus liquid aeration has helped, but will give this a try and pull some cores. Thanks again.
@@colfrankslade no top dressing to date, but am looking to add come compost to the lawn this fall, and have used some additives to help break up the clay and improve the soil quality.
Liquid aeration and humic acid arrived yesterday. It’s been hot and heck And RAINY so I just got around to killing a weed patch I plan to sod. It’s a small area so sod won’t be too expensive and easier for me as I have dogs. Here is my question. How long should I wait to apply these products after spraying? Thanks. You’ve a great resource.
Ryan. thanks for demonstrating the results of using the product. I cannot find any retailers selling the product in the UK, so I have ordered from the US, expecting delivery late to mid August.
Hi Ryan. When attaching a sprayer to the bottle, how do you monitor how much product to use? I have several Simple lawn solutions nozzles from other products that I can attach to the bottle. Thanks
Ryan, in areas of my lawn that I struggle to keep green, the top 6" of the soil is nice and soft, but at 6" I hit absolute rock solid soil. Do I need to try and soften that up? Can it even be done that far down?
Great video. Going to give this a try on my super hard clay soil in Colorado. Do you think this is a sufficient substitute for mechanical/core aeration or would you recommend doing both?
I use this tonic liquid fertilizer I seen on TH-cam long time ago. What’s your take on it and also would you recommend watering this in or do it after it rains?
Can you reseed immediately after using this? I have a few dead spots and they are hard as a rock. Would love to soften them up with this and put some seed down
good comparison. difference of Air8 can be different but as I have seen this product is did something for day 1 or 2. Most important to see what can be happen in after 3 months ? or needs to keep using it. Thanks for video.
So this one helping to keep water for sometime ? but air8 opening virtual holes and miracaly air and water go inside? Thanks for your time to Reply. I will try this product on my worst area in backyard. Happy Thanksgiving
I can’t even push a screw driver 2 in into my dirt so I’ll need to do what you did. I mowed my yard 4 times last year because my grass would take so long to grow but I don’t mind mowing in order to have nice plush grass. Soil analysis states my soil content is near perfect but now I know why it grows so slowly it’s because the roots aren’t getting those nutrients from my perfect soil.
Same here! I have a bermuda hybrid grass. Everything and everybody says it likes to be cut short and mowed every 3-5 days. Well....mine barely grew fast enough to justify every 7-10 days 🤷🏾♂️ definitely trying this. It's cheaper than an actual pull behind aerator anyway
Purchased a bottle based on this video (thanks for the promo code by the way). Looking to see how it does on my South Carolina red clay. Sprayed it down yesterday and watered it in...getting a good rain today as well. Can't wait to see how it does.
Any update on this product? Was thinking about trying. It's been raining pretty good once a week in Mn it hasn't even gotten hot/dry out yet and my lawn seems pretty hard. Think this will help my watering?
Would this be good to apply before killing the lawn off and doing a complete renovation? My soil is clay and very hard. I'm planning on aerating but would give this a try too if it would work.
Not sure if it was intentional, but the side you used the chemicals on was also in the shade. The other side was in the sun which will dry out the lawn a lot more.
I was able to modify the clay soil I had in ankeny. My neighbors thought I was nuts! Liquid aerify; milorganite; alfalfa pellets and worm castings with no irrigation and one of the best lawns in the neighborhood. Here in Harlan I've used milorganite; liquid dish soap; alfalfa pellets and humic acid. Time will tell on the results but looks like a workable formula
So I heard that it would be for spring and fall application times, but in your opinion with a IA lawn hard as a rock like yourself. As well it being early July would you recommend to put down now or just wait till fall? As well which would you recommend to apply first this or the humic?
You can apply any time as long as you water it in very well afterwards (at least .5 inches) - Humic needs to be watered in as well so you can use them at similar times
Question? I want to know about seeding. Once you spray that and it Aerates it, what about putting seed down? Don't you have to still rake it so it gets into the soil?
6:15 when going manual aeration, is the tool effective if the plugs aren't going out when pressing in? I had the same one, and one side will throw plugs out and the other won't. Probably going to return, I figured if the plugs weren't coming out it was just compressing the soil and not really helping. Great video!
I notice the treated side seems to have a lot more shade. Also we don't know what that shady area woukd have looked like if it were probed before treatment. Id like to see the test repeated with equal sun on the treated and untreated sides, like farther back in the yard.
Well notice at the end where I was taking samples closer to the tree? That was same amount of sun but yeah I'll do some more testing over time. I tried to pull cores from both left and right before the test and all was rock hard.
I don't think the shade made that big a difference. It's not like the direct sun heated the soil up that much, if at all, past the top few inches. Dig a hole 18 inches deep and you'll find the soil gets cool as you get deeper. Does the direct sunlight effect things? Sure, I just don't think it's that big of a deal. Not if your doing this 2-4 times a year.
i'll be straight to the point, did you receive monetary benefit from the maker of that solution? please be honest so we know whether this is an ad or product review.
I'm the same way. There are so many crap products aimed at people that do not know any better that I wonder about the validity of salesmen claims. Some companies actually want to help people, where others are just spewing skewed information to make a buck.
This video was great, just purchased a jug of this and usedyour code for the purchase.. Im a beginner at this lawn stuff and my centipede lawn is hard as rock in some areas and holds water like a sponge in most areas. Im about to put my pre emergent down a week or so since I live in SC. Should I use this before or after I put the pre emergent down. Im gonna be using the Andersons DG Barricade. Thanks
Hi Ryan, huge fan. New to lawn care and I'm taking in as much as I can in the off season to be ready next year. Question Is this... I'm going to have my lawn rolled because it's very uneven. We just purchased the home last year and I don't think it was ever done. My concern is this... would this affect applying pre emergents if the rolling compacts the soil? Could I apply this after lawn rolling to ensure the pre emergent works? From what I've read core aeration should not be done in spring but early fall. Thanks!
You can do core spring and fall. I did that for years when my lawn was new but otherwise rolling in the early spring can help a little bit nothing life changing. Pre-emergent after is fine
Ryan, if I'm using this product in combo with the Ortho Dial n Spray, just to make sure I'm correct, I put 1 oz of product per 1000 sq feet into the ortho, do I add any water to the ortho container to dilute the product? Before reattaching hose attachment to the hose? My front lawn is approx 1000 sq feet so I'm unsure of the measurements, other than 1 oz of product is needed for that 1000 sq ft of coverage.

Can I fertilize after applying this stuff?
Did u used? Worked?
@@viverenegliusa8518 I wouldn't recommend it.. it caused problems in my lawn. Ended up with a bunch of bumps in the ground.
That's a pretty crazy price! I have 11k sq feet or so and usually was charged around 60-90
Whoa! Evidently I need to get more estimates.
So did you use the liquid and if so how was your results?
My yard is terribly bumpy, the mower bounces across it. What do you think about using the liquid aeration/watering along with a few rounds of rolling the lawn? Could that be a cheat to leveling?
Rolling won't do anything drastic
Was eye ballin' that liquid aerator on Amazon recently. They need to thank you..."I'm ordering a bottle after this post" 👍.
Be safe Brotha!
Glad to help! I love experiments.
Ryan Knorr Lawn Care Where did you purchase hose in sprayer, used in video? I just used your link to order bottle. Thanks.
it's in the description
Amazon just got my money too
Want to see what you think on overseeding directly after this. Is the equivalent of dethatching / aerating.
I think u should wait a month b 4 u seed thata what I read but I could b wrong idont see why not
So glad to see this. I have been avoiding soil aeration simply because of the irrigation system, drains, cables etc. that in some cases I know are not deep enough. Definitely have compaction on some parts of my lawn. I am hoping this is a sufficient alternative.
Update?
I have been on the fence about that product not anymore! Awesome
I was not expecting those results especially after watching so many videos basically saying that "soap" won't do the job as good as the more expensive kinds. Very interesting results.
I think it probably is that it doesn't create as much of a lasting effect but it certainly does help water penetrate soil.
Thanks, I need to do this, this fall. the bottle on site doesn’t have a hose end sprayer. How do I get one? Thanks
Ryan where did you get the hose applicator and does the applicator put out the correct amount? Is it adjustable? Thank you
Was wondering the same thing.
It's always the goal to just show what I'm learning as I go.
Haha! I am not sure if it will rain again. History suggests it will but in the mean time we're stuck in a bad place. I can't wait for cooler weather!
If planning to do complete yard renovation of an existing lawn is it still better to do core aeration opposed to the liquid so that the seed has a place to drop into the soil? Would doing both have any benefit? Thanks! Really enjoy your videos.
I'd still do mechanical
Can i use the product for my maize crop 15 days old having 3 or 4 fully grown leaves. Reply 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Wow, that's going in the Amazon cart immediately. Thank you for letting me borrow your plug puller thing. Interested to see what my Soil Savvy test says. Good video man.
No problem! Hope you have some great results.
Ryan Knorr Lawn Care. Actually, just recieved the Soil Savvy results today. Not. Looking. Good.
That should be a fantastic use for it as it helps to allow water to soak in more efficiently
Gonna try this out, I live in CA and I have a lot of clay soil that compacts like concrete. Is gypsum a good alternative?
Great video! I just bought this. If I want to use tenacity as post-m on my existing weeds, can I use this product the day before tenacity? I originally thought of using after tenacity but I've seen some tips on not disturbing the soil once tenacity is applied. Goal is to remove tons of weeds, improve soil, spring overseed with tall fescue.
yeah you should be able to use it before
Hello Mr,. Ryan. I wanted to ask, would this stuff also worked on a few VERY compacted flower beds (soil, not grass)??
Probably not with just an app or two. I'd look at bringing in some compost
Have you added any black dirt , to try and build your turf up ?
@@colfrankslade no top dressing to date, but am looking to add come compost to the lawn this fall, and have used some additives to help break up the clay and improve the soil quality.
Liquid aeration and humic acid arrived yesterday. It’s been hot and heck And RAINY so I just got around to killing a weed patch I plan to sod. It’s a small area so sod won’t be too expensive and easier for me as I have dogs. Here is my question. How long should I wait to apply these products after spraying? Thanks. You’ve a great resource.
I would probably put the sod into place and get it going for a few weeks and then start these products.
Ryan. thanks for demonstrating the results of using the product. I cannot find any retailers selling the product in the UK, so I have ordered from the US, expecting delivery late to mid August.
Cool!
Im using a product called aerifyplus what i import to the uk from the US and iv had great results. How did you get on with it rav?
Hi Ryan. When attaching a sprayer to the bottle, how do you monitor how much product to use? I have several Simple lawn solutions nozzles from other products that I can attach to the bottle. Thanks
Does the hose end sprayer come with the bottle? Or do you have to purchase separately?
How long after can you put down liquid fertilizer from simple lawn solution
Ryan, in areas of my lawn that I struggle to keep green, the top 6" of the soil is nice and soft, but at 6" I hit absolute rock solid soil. Do I need to try and soften that up? Can it even be done that far down?
FINALLY...... Found the type of video for my situation. Thanks man!
Used whole bottle on around 10k yard today on hose end sprayer, I hope it won’t mess up my grass, will see results in next few days.
Great video. Going to give this a try on my super hard clay soil in Colorado. Do you think this is a sufficient substitute for mechanical/core aeration or would you recommend doing both?
I do both
I use this tonic liquid fertilizer I seen on TH-cam long time ago. What’s your take on it and also would you recommend watering this in or do it after it rains?
Can you reseed immediately after using this? I have a few dead spots and they are hard as a rock. Would love to soften them up with this and put some seed down
Oh my gosh I have it on hand and didn’t know for sure how to use it! Bless you!!!
Hy Ryan, what kind of impact sprinkler do you use? It seems like the base is a heavy metal to keep it in place from moving around during operation.
how long should i wait for seeding after using this product?
good comparison. difference of Air8 can be different but as I have seen this product is did something for day 1 or 2.
Most important to see what can be happen in after 3 months ? or needs to keep using it.
Thanks for video.
air8 is a little different and this product would be more like a wetting agent
So this one helping to keep water for sometime ? but air8 opening virtual holes and miracaly air and water go inside? Thanks for your time to Reply. I will try this product on my worst area in backyard. Happy Thanksgiving
Hello, where did you get the hose end sprayer that you attached to the product/bottle?
I came to ask the same question. I can't find one like it online.
His sprayer came from a bottle of Simple Lawn Solutions liquid fertilizers. He reuses the sprayer on their products that do not come with one.
Is it safe to use this on the lawn above a septic system?
Yes
Can't wait to see how it does.
old comment but any results?
Any results on this?
Once I put the Simple lawn Solution Aerator down how long before can I put down their liquid fertilizer?
When in a fall renovation or overseed schedule would you use this?
It's not recommended during any seeding. At least that is only the label and I haven't done any testing with it otherwise
I'm planning on aerating but would give this a try too if it would work.
just received a bottle of this today. wasn't cheap. glad to see your results!
I just seeded my lawn can I use this product a couple weeks after seeding?
Your lawn looked pretty decent in 2016. What did you do to it to destroy so badly?
Not destroyed. Dormant from drought
That's great. Thanks for sharing your process!
Great video Ryan thank you so much I appreciate it just bought some can't wait for it to arrive to test it
So I heard that it would be for spring and fall application times, but in your opinion with a IA lawn hard as a rock like yourself. As well it being early July would you recommend to put down now or just wait till fall? As well which would you recommend to apply first this or the humic?
You can apply any time as long as you water it in very well afterwards (at least .5 inches) - Humic needs to be watered in as well so you can use them at similar times
Ryan Knorr Lawn Care thanks man always appreciated
Question? I want to know about seeding. Once you spray that and it Aerates it, what about putting seed down? Don't you have to still rake it so it gets into the soil?
This one is not recommended to use with seeding according to label directions
6:15 when going manual aeration, is the tool effective if the plugs aren't going out when pressing in? I had the same one, and one side will throw plugs out and the other won't. Probably going to return, I figured if the plugs weren't coming out it was just compressing the soil and not really helping. Great video!
I've had a few issues with mine as well. The soil has to be perfect as far as moisture level goes or it seems to just clog.
Did you have to worry about stain on the concrete and if so, how did you handle it?
I notice the treated side seems to have a lot more shade. Also we don't know what that shady area woukd have looked like if it were probed before treatment. Id like to see the test repeated with equal sun on the treated and untreated sides, like farther back in the yard.
Well notice at the end where I was taking samples closer to the tree? That was same amount of sun but yeah I'll do some more testing over time. I tried to pull cores from both left and right before the test and all was rock hard.
Great video, but I had to agree about the test being unfair test. Both sides should have had equal amounts of shade and sun. Good job. 👍🏼

I'm a skeptical person, but those results are hard to argue with. Good video man.
I am as well by nature. We need those people.
I'm the same way. There are so many crap products aimed at people that do not know any better that I wonder about the validity of salesmen claims. Some companies actually want to help people, where others are just spewing skewed information to make a buck.
Wow, I need to buy me some of this. Late to the game as always but glad I found this video Ryan.
I'm late too. Never heard of this stuff till now.
Can you apply this in summer ? For a sodded area ?
I think I put to much scott southern triple action turf builder on my lawn today the setting on my spreader was high i think i mess up bad right?
Thank you Ryan, just placed my order!.... 5% in my pocket better than in someone else's!!
Ryan , would it be best to apply liquid areator then humic acid then some type of weed n feed?
I would probably space out the weed n feed to a different day but it wouldn't matter too much. Water in liquid aerator and humic
Thank you sir from South Texas!
Can I use this after putting down some new seed on bare patches
