I've heard that certain salons slip relaxer into conditioners, without client knowledge. To make hair more "manageable" because they don't want to deal with curly hair. And as someone who got heat damage from a one time visit with a new stylist, I feel your pain. I'm sorry this happened.
It did throw me off when she first started washing my hair and said “so your hair is natural natural”. One time at different salon, the lady said “i have bad hair like this too, but I can get it real straight.” And at a different salon, the girl couldn’t do a roller set on my hair and the owner was like “its because that hair is like that”They’re always saying something out of pocket in hair salons , its actually sad 😭
I went to get knotless box braids but the lady told me that they were bad and I should get regular box braids. I insisted on knotless because I never had them before and wanted to experience them. She kept saying no, so I asked her if they were more expensive or harder to do. She said no but my hair will start to look bad quickly. I told her that I will take that chance. She started doing my hair like we had beef, scraping my scalp with a metal rat tail comb. I’m surprised there was no blood. My shy quiet 🍑 sat there and let her try her best to hurt me. She finished and I payed her but I told them I will never step foot in there again and if fact will never go to a salon again in life. I do all things for myself now. TH-cam University is real , y’all 😂
I’m sorry that happen to you, i wish you could get your money back, I don’t go to salons anymore 🥺 because I don’t want anyone touching my hair, I recommend the as i am rosemary shampoo, when I rinse my hair, it feels so soft and it helps with hair growth
Omg...I am amazed at how calm you are! I was so angry for you! I have been in your shoes so I know how it feels to have someone ruin years of hard work in just 1 salon visit smh...😡 At least your hair does look great despite the damage.
This happened to me back in 2021 as well, I went through an entire transition just for it to happen again. Trust me I was on the verge of tears, but I know that I can't change what has already been done. Just have to look forward and enjoy the new journey. Def learned my lesson though 😭 And thank you, I appreciate your kind words 💕
Dominican salons use extremely high heat, that’s why the blow out be stick straight and you don’t always need that much heat for a sleek look. I have high density but fine individual 3b strands of hair, so the round brushes always break my hair. Doing wash & roller sets helped me grow out my dyed red hair from collar bone to belly button length in 1 year and a half. I would only go over my roots with the flat iron.
One of the main reasons why I stopped going to salons they don’t tell you anything about what they put on your hair, the last time I went was about 2 years ago and the hair dresser was angry because I didn’t allow her to "deep condition" my hair she ended up frying my ends and demanded that I let her cut my "ends"👀 I just paid what I had to pay and left and never came back fast forward to last week I read some reviews about them slipping relaxers into conditioners.
I’m licensed and my friend told me a few years back about the Botox treatment and I never heard of it. The lady suggested it to smooth her hair and she got it. Went to wash her hair and her hair never reverted back. This is basically a keratin treatment. The same steps and everything. She had to grow her out from scratch 💯
The one I used must of not been that strong because its been a few months since I made this video and the shine/smoothing/ frizz fighting-effects from the botox are gone. Lasted about 1-2 months. I still have my heat damage from the salon though 🥲
Yeah your hair has been relaxed smh. I had the same thing but I didn’t realize it. Once the panini hit and I stopped going my unrequested perm grew out. I still love my girl but she was def relaxing me on the low. I also love that silicon mix bc I love the smell but now that I think about it I bet that masks the smell of the perm smh
Try design essentials honey cream shampoo it is very very moisturizing you can literally detangle your hair with it but it cleans it! Im sorry you had to go through that. 😢
TGIN, Mielle Organics, Alikay Naturals, As I Am, Creme of Nature. All good product lines that are drugstore for women of color. All have sulfate free shampoos that will cleanse your hair without stripping it. On the other side, there's L'Oréal bond repair, and Dove hair care was said to be good also.
So this product actually works really well to ensure that you’re silk presses are smooth, but you do not have to apply it with heat if you’re looking to help restore your curls, just use as a normal deep treatment, rinse completely. I also don’t go over my hair 10 times with a flat iron bc i rollerset. I have 3C to four a hair i use this product to make sure that my silk press doesn’t frizz
They definitely put some chemical in your hair, and then I think the Botox treatment with 15 passes of the flatiron definitely straightened it even more 😢
I don’t think I can do another big chop again 🥲 Been there tooo many times, at first I love it , then I regret it. Im going to cut little by little this time, every three months
Yea it’s looks like she over processed it with the Botox treatment I got them done for 2 years and I stared doing them at home after my hair went from curly to wavy sometimes they leave in to long and sometimes they change brands and use it wrong 😑 when I did it at home the directions says leave in for 15-25 min at the salon it’s left in for 45 min to an hour and a half from the my hair was wavy till it grew out I did it myself for a bit but I prefer keratin it strong seals and smooth the hair but I can keep my curls

Going to salons is definitely a risk 😅 Thank you for the recommendation!

Yes , I agree. They use way too much heat
This is a sign for me to get some rollers for a roller set!

Its honestly so messed up that we cant rely on “professionals”

-I was just thinking that-someone slipped her some keratin at the salon.😕

I just wish they would ask for consent 😭 because this is definitely not okay

Take you for the recommendation. Yeah, Im still trying to recover from the trauma 😭

Hey girly I use shea moisture castor oil shampoo and conditioner I also use wild hair growth oil three times a week I hope this helps 🎀💕
Wow! Are shops lacing conditioner these days. That's crazy. Sorry for your experience.
We gotta stay safe out here 🥲

Yes, this product worked really well for smoothing and frizz
Olaplex shampoo might seem expensive but you don't need much of it to get a wonderful moisturized clean
I actually used that shampoo before and I wanted to love it , but it made my scalp extremely itchy and I had to stop using it
They definitely put some chemical in your hair, and then I think the Botox treatment with 15 passes of the flatiron definitely straightened it even more 😢
Definitely
Same girl, I big chopped
I don’t think I can do another big chop again 🥲 Been there tooo many times, at first I love it , then I regret it. Im going to cut little by little this time, every three months
Mielle Sea Moss line, the shampoo and Masque are everything , and you might need a hard protein treatment try Aphogee 2 step treatment
That aphogee almost left me bald headed once, I was scared 😭
Aphogee protein followed by the moisture treame once a month for 3 mnths
I tried the aphogee 2-step treatment once awhile ago and it made chunks of hair fall out and break off, I was lowkey scared 😅
What about the tea rinse method to stop shedding
This is a good idea, I tried this once years ago, might do it again
the 10-15 times would have made me pass out😅
I dont know how I managed to survive that tbh😅😂
Bring your own products shampoo conditioner ❤❤😢😢
Sometimes I would even go with my hair already washed and conditioned , but this time I got lazyyy 😭
Try Aztec clay mask with only water
Your hair is beautiful 😍
Thank you!!
Use rosemary water 👍🏿😎thank me later…..
Thanks for the recommendation!
