    Always fun to learn how to get the melodic and solo flows going, especially with double-stops! Cheers

    I’ve been listening a lot more closely to “good” lead players who aren’t shredding and now get they’re tossing in double stops all over the place. They really give the lead a meatier texture. Man, I love texture (because I’m slow too).

    Thank you for another great lesson Marty. I love double stops! David Gilmour is my favorite guitarist, and he uses double stops a lot in his solos. Thank you for technique Tuesday!❤❤👍👍

    MARTY, How can the same double stops be used for the key of E major and also for the key of A major? The keys of E minor & E major aren't related to the key of A major

    • @jesseehrenclou676
      @jesseehrenclou676 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's A major which is the same as e mixolydian. Mixolydian mode based on the 5th (e is the 5 of a) If you play e major with a flat 7 (d instead of d#) it's the same notes as A major but has a blues feel over the e chord. Another way to look at it is it's the notes of the A major scale but with a tonal center of e

    Thanks for the insightful video Marty. I loved blues techniques, they are very fascinating. Could you please do a guitar video lesson + tutorial on “Rock’n Me”by Steve Miller Band, “Wake Up” by Rage Against The Machine, and “Rich” by Prince? Thanks man, you can add those to the list of song recommendations. Keep up the great work and noteworthy content brother, always appreciated!

    You say that you’re playing an E blues, but you soloing over it in E major. I thought that you always used a minor key for a ‘blues” progression. Can you please tell us the theory behind this ie when to use major and minor for a blues progression? Thanks

    • @MartyMusic

    😃Lovin' Technique Tuesday! This was awesome! I've been trying to grasp the whole double stop map. Always been a big Johnny Winter fan, Johnny always threw those cool double stop runs in his solos. Cheap Trick/ I Want You To Want Me has such a great classic double stop solo that always grabbed my ear. Never thought of grabbing it from the A shaped E chord, makes total sense. You do a great job covering them in your Hendrix course too. Very cool! But that why your the coolest dude 😎😆❤
