Oh! How nice to find you! I’m doing the same thing in the north of England but a little more grungy!! I just posted about the new curtains I made for my girls. 7 hens, 5 rescues, and just this week, 4 beautiful new point of lay girls for some egg colour. Cute never hurts!

Brilliant idea to decorate the coop ...that way you want to clean it lol. The vinyl is brilliant less chance that straw webs stick to it which is the issue I struggle with in my larger barn. Love the run :)

I use a 2x4 with the 4" side up.
I love the shelf liner tip. What did you use to get it to say on the wall?
It actually adhered really well. I figured I might have to glue it or something, but so far so good and it's sticking just fine.

After a couple of years with my first effort at keeping chickens I've decided I'm all in. Now looking at coops that will fulfill my long term intentions and this is certainly on the short list! how do you avoid mites with all that straw?
southfield I don't buy into the idea that straw causes mites. I've used straw in my coop for almost ten years without any problem at all with mites or any parasites. I use DE on the floor periodically, and lime. Both in the nesting boxes and on the floor. My chicken have a year round dust bath...
